Zoe was in the kitchen flipping a pancake when Steve walked in. "Hey sugar, how are things going?" asked Steve leaning against the counter. Zoe smiled as she looked at him "Breakfast is almost ready, Where's Bucky?" asked Zoe looking behind him. Steve frown a little before Zoe could see but quickly recovered with a smile. "I think he decided to take a shower, but I am more than happy to help you" said Steve coming to stand next to her. Zoe looked up at him and gave him a small smile. "Would you mind grabbing the plates so I can dish this up?" asked Zoe . Steve nodded "Of course Sugar" responded Steve and moved behind to grab the ones that they would need.

Steve handed her a plate "Thanks Steve" said Zoe their hands touched a spark ran up Zoe's arm and she took a deep breath in almost dropping the plate but Steve caught in time. "Easy there sweetheart" said Steve smirking knowing her reaction. Zoe shook her head "Sorry I am a bit clumsy at times" whispered Zoe. Steve moved the plate on the counter. "Here Zoe, let me help you with that" said Steve grappling the pancake flipper and finished getting the pancakes off the hot grill. "Now go sit down and I will take care of the rest Sugar" said Steve. Zoe took a seat a the table and watched as Steve made quick work of their breakfast. He placed the pancakes in front of her along with the butter and the syrup. Then went back to grab his plate.

Zoe got a notification on her phone for one of her games but her eyes widen at the date. Steve moved to the seat across from her. "Hey, Steve I just notice that Thursday is your birthday is there anything you would like to do?" asked Zoe. Steve stopped cutting his pancakes and looked up at her with an arched eyebrow and smile. "You know when my birthday is?" he asked. Zoe just nodded "Of course I do come on Captain America was born on the 4th of July has to be the most iconic things in the great Marvel universe!" replied Zoe excitedly. Steve took a bite of his pancake "Do you know all of our birthdays?" asked Steve tilting his head. "Maybe..." replied Zoe nervously. Steve took another bite before he spoke "So go ahead name some" said Steve. Zoe just looked at him and rolled her eyes "Nat's is December 3, Tony's is May 29 and Bucky's is March 10" replied Zoe quickly and blushing. Steve looked at her with amusement "Wow, that's pretty good what about your birthday?" asked Steve.

Zoe just smiled "It's July 11th well...that's when my adoptive family celebrated it. Since we didn't know when the actual day was it's my Gotta ya Day" replied Zoe. Steve gave her a questioning look "Gotta ya Day what's that?" asked Steve. Zoe took a drink before answering "It's the day Thomas and Linda Williams officially adopted me on July 11 1993." Responded Zoe. Steve looked at Zoe " That's neat, they celebrated the day you joined their family Zoe" said Steve. Zoe looked down "Well, was for the first few years but then as it went on it just became another day after Thomas won the election for city council and had been in a few years they kinda forgot they had a second daughter unless I got some achievement at school or got my scholarship to Harvard they pretty much ignored me" said Zoe her eyes shining with tears. Steve narrowed his eyes "Why would they do that Zoe, why adopt a child only to ignore them later that's utterly ridiculous" said Steve.

"I don't know Steve I tried to be a good daughter I got top grades, I was in a bunch of after school activities like yearbook and newspaper but that wasn't good unlike Nicole who was beautiful and popular and was a cheerleader, where I was a geek and quiet and the Mouse" answered Zoe with a bitter tone. Steve gave her a look "The Mouse?" questioned Steve confused. Zoe just shook her head "That's what Nicole called me to her my dark hair and eyes wasn't nothing compared to her Blonde hair and Blue eyes and that our parents only adopted me to gain popularity through the polls" answered Zoe biting her lip. Steve made a fist and hit the table in frustration which made Zoe flinched. Steve saw this and reached across the table "Zoe I am sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, it just upset me that they treated you that way" said Steve taking her hand "It's fine Steve, it just startled me is all" replied Zoe going to pull her hand away but Steve held on firmly. Steve looked at her hand then back up her face "Zoe, let me make it up to you let's go out to dinner on the 11th just you and I" said Steve smiling at rubbing his thumb on her fingers. Zoe's eyes widen as she looked at him. He was staring at her "Zoe, I am asking if you would like to go on a date with me" said Steve pulling her hand tighter.

Zoe took a deep breath "Why?" she ask shaking her head. Now was Steve turn to be surprised "Why? There are so many reasons why Zoe, Your an amazing women who has a big heart and truly cares for others not to mention intelligent, witty and unlike your brother humble and so beautiful, you take my breath away Zoe that's why and so many more reasons, So I am asking you again will you allow me to take you out to dinner on July 11th or any other night" asked Steve. Zoe bit her lip and looked at him and smiled "Yes, I would love to go out with you" responded Zoe. Steve got a huge grin on his face "Great I can't wait" said Steve happily.

A few feet away stood Bucky near the kitchen as he felt a burning pain in his heart hearing Zoe's response to Steve. He knew in that moment he was falling in love with her even though it had been only a short while since he had meet her. He felt like when he was around her that he could almost be his old self again a better version of that man. That's what he saw in Zoe's eyes a whole man. But she had fallen for Steve and only saw him as a friend. As long as she was happy that's all that matter. Bucky took a deep breath and and walked into the kitchen. With a smile on his face he looked at Zoe and Steve at the table and they were talking and "Hey got any of those pancakes for me or did little Stevie here eat them all" said Bucky. Steve just looked annoyed that Bucky was in the room but before he could say anything Zoe had stood up. "No Bucky I saved you some and they are still warm" she replied opening up the microwave and it had a plate with a cover. "See they are still warm, have a seat and I will bring the plate." said Zoe.

Bucky sat in the seat next to where Zoe had been sitting and smiled at her as she brought him the plate. Then she sat down "So Bucky I was just talking to Cap here and since his birthday is just few days way I was thinking we should celebrate it, I mean it's not every day someone turns ninety five" said Zoe. Bucky smirked "Oh yeah I forgot that you're an old man" said Bucky with a cheeky grin. Steve raised an eyebrow "Oh I am an old man am I well that's calling the kettle black since your an year older  then me" said replied Steve rolling his eyes. Zoe laughed "Any way what would the birthday boy like to do? Any traditions?" asked Zoe.

Steve and Bucky both smiled at each like they were sharing memories. "Bucky would take me to Coney Islands during the day and then we would watch the fireworks at night" said Steve laughing and shaking his head. "Was one one of those times when Bucky made you ride the cyclecone and you threw up after?" asked Zoe. Both Steve and Bucky snapped their heads in her direction. Bucky pulled a face "How do you know that?" asked Bucky in a confused tone. Zoe sighed "Steve told you how I was taken to another reality well in that reality this or your lives are comic books and movie and there was a scene were you and Steve shared that memory just before getting on the train" responded Zoe wincing.
Bucky looked uncomfortable Zoe could tell she reach her hand for his. "Sorry Bucky I didn't mean to bring up bad memories" said Zoe in a cautious tone. Bucky took her hand "It's fine Angel, just a little weird that you have seen what I have done and don't hate me for it" responded Bucky squeezing her hand. Zoe squeezed back "Like I said before it wasn't you it was Hydra" said Zoe giving him a small smile.

Steve cleared his throat and Bucky quickly let go of her hand. Zoe looked over at Steve "So birthday boy since Coney Island is on the other side of the country what would you like to do there is an amusement park about 45 min to hour away called Lagoon or we could spend the day a the reservoir or we could stay here and watch movies then go down to Ogden and watch the fireworks nothing to special but it's something" suggested Zoe.
Steve looked like he was thinking for a minute "Movie day and fireworks with you guys sounds divine" responded Steve with a smile. "We can do a a barbecue, so like hamburgers and hotdogs or just get pizza" said Zoe. Just then Nat walked into the room "Hey guys what's up?" asked Nat. Zoe looked at Nat who had taken a seat next to Steve "Oh we a just deciding what to do for Steve's birthday on Thursday" replied Zoe. Nat nodded "So what's the plans anything fun?" asked Nat looking at the group. "Cap here just wants a barbecue and movie day and maybe go see fireworks later" replied Bucky. Nat pressed her lips together "Sweet and simple I like it" replied Nat.

Two days later Zoe woke up groaned as she turned over picked up her phone to see the time 6:04 she quickly got out of bed she only had a few minutes to get everything ready before Steve and Bucky came back from their run.  She went to bathroom and got ready for the day. She went downstairs to find Nat in the kitchen drinking coffee. "Morning Nat" greeted Zoe as she walked into the kitchen . Nat just looked surprised to see her "You're up bright and early this morning Little Stark any special reason?" asked Nat. Zoe smiled "Yep, I making a special birthday breakfast for Cap" responded Zoe. Nat smirked "Mmm anything else special you want to give the birthday boy?" asked Nat then she made kissing faces. Zoe blushed and shook her head "I have no idea what you are talking about Nat" snapped Zoe. "Sure you don't, so what for breakfast" laughed Nat. "Cinnamon French toast, eggs, bacon and hash brown do you think he will like that?" asked Zoe. Nat nodded "Of course that sounds fantastic,  now let's get started before birthday boy and Bucky get back" responded Nat.
