Mum had bought Dani a little birthday outfit. Her shirt said Birthday Girl in black sparkles, and her shirt was pink.

She was currently running around in  that shirt and underwear.

"Dani!" I call out.

She runs up to me and clings onto my leg.

"Daddy!" she cheers.

"Why are you so happy today Dani?" I laugh, picking her up.

"It's my birthday!" she cheers happily.

"I forget, how old are you again?" I ask jokingly.

"This many!" she cheers holding up nine fingers.

"Hmm... I don't think that's right baby. Are you sure you're turning nine?"

She giggles, nodding her head yes.

"I don't think so. That means I'm old. You're only allowed to turn five. Then you can't grow up anymore," I inform playfully.

"Daddy, no!" she whines.

"Yes! Stop growing up! You're makin daddy cry," I pout, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"Don't cry daddy," she frowns.

"Can I have a kiss?"

She nods, pecking my lips.

"Thanks princess. I'm happy now! Let's go finish getting you ready!" I smile.

"Yay!"

After putting on her jean shorts and a black leather jacket, I set her down.

"Let's brush your hair, yeah?" I suggest.

"Can Fae do it? She does her hair pretty," she beams.

"Sure. Let's go ask."

I carry her downstairs to the living room. Fae was reading a book.

"Fae?" Dani asks, wiggling out my arms and running over to her.

"You look pretty!" Fae beams.

"Thank you," Dani blushes. "Can you make my hair pretty like yours?"

"Of course," Fae smiles, closing her book.

She sets it on the coffee table and stands up. She picks of Dani and starts to walk towards the guest room.

"Hey Michael," she smiles.

"Hey," I smile back.

Well this is awkward.

I walk into the kitchen to see mum cleaning it up.

"Hey mum," I say.

She turns around and looks at me.

"Hey Mike," she says walking up to me. "She's a beautiful young lady. I say she's a keeper."

"Mum, we're not dating," I chuckle. "We're just friends. We don't like eachother that way."

"Well Dani seems to like her," she urges.

"Okay, as a friend. At most an aunt. You have to remember, we only met a few days ago, and this is Dani's first time seeing her in person."

She sighs.

"You should get married," she says.

"Mum!" I scold with a chuckle.

"Even if we do end up getting married, it won't be for quite a while!"

"Fine," she mutters. "Is Dani ready for dinner?"

I nod.

"Fae's doing her hair right now," I inform.

As if on cue, Fae walks in holding Dani.

"Daddy, look! Fae made my hair pretty!" Dani giggles happily.

I look over to Dani and Fae. Dani's hair was in a French braid. At least, that's what I think it's called. I'm not exactly good in the hair department.

"Wow, you look beautiful baby," I say, taking her from Fae.

I kiss her cheek, so she giggle.

"Thanks Fae," I smile.

"Anytime Michael," she says with a nod.

"Ready to go see uncles?" I ask Dani.

She nods happily.

"Is Uncle CalPal going to be there?" she asks.

I nod.

"Uncle Ashy going to be there?"

Once again, I nod.

"What about Uncle Lukey?"

I chuckle. "Yes Dani. All of your uncles will be there. Fae and grandma will be there, too. So will Uncle Ashton's girlfriend. Do you remember her? She's the one that went away to go to adult school (college)."

She nods.

"Macey?" she asks.

"It's Payton, baby. Her names Payton," I laugh.

"Oh... Yay!"

I chuckle at her oddness.  She so gets it from me.

*at dinner*

We sat in the corner booth of some fancy restaurant. There were eight of us. There was mum, Ashton, Ashton's girlfriend, Payton, Luke, Calum, Dani, Fae, and I.

I had ordered Dani her chicken nuggets with macoroni and cheese on the side. The rest of us had ordered along the lines of burgers.

Dani was so happy, she was literally bouncing away in her seat. I don't get why she's so hyper when it comes to birthdays.

"Dani, why are you so happy?" I chuckle.

"Because I'm this many!" she exclaims, holding up five fingers.

"You're never this hyper when it comes to birthdays," I laugh quietly.

"That's because you're home daddy!"

That earned a chorus of little cooes.

"You little kiss up. What do you want? Money, dolls, barbies, games, what?" I ask suspiciously.

"Money!" she cheers.

"How about we go to the store, and I'll let you pick a toy out?" I suggest.

"Do I still get a present?" she asks with a frown.

"Of course you get a present! Why would I let my baby go without something wrapped in wrapping paper?"

Everybody quietly laughs to themselves.

"I don't know," she says. She then turns to Luke. "Uncle Lukey, guess what!"

"Hm?" he hums.

"I have a boyfriend," she tells him giddily.

I nearly choke on air.

"Oh yeah? Who?" he asks her.

"Carson," she smiles.

"Quit growing," I mutter.

"No!" she pouts.

"Yes! Now eat your dinner babe. We have to soon. It's getting late. We have to pack your bags up and go home," I inform.

She nods happily, take another bite of her chicken nuggets.

"When do you guys go back on tour?" Payton asks out of the blue.

"Next month," Calum tells her.

She just nods.

"Daddy, I'm full," Dani informs.

I look at her plate. Three out of five nuggets were gone, and by the looks of it, four bites out of her Mac n' Cheese was gone.

"Can you please eat two more bites of your macoroni?" I say, more of a demand.

She nods and grabs her fork again. She picks up a little macoroni and eats it. She repeats her action another time.

"Done," she informs.

"Okay," I smile.

I finish up my burger and fries. Fae takes a couple more bites of her sandwich. It was half way finished when she stopped eating it. She sat back and sighed.

"You okay?" I asked.

She nods. "Just tired," she informs.

It was pretty late.

"Well, we're going to go home and relax. I set $100 on the table. "This should cover everything and have money left over as a tip."

Everybody nods.

"Drive safe Michael," mum informs me.

I nod. I life out, followed by Dani, and then Fae.

"Ready?" I ask.

Faelyn nods, but Dani shakes head.

"Hugs!" she pouts.

"Give hugs then," I chuckle.

She nods before crawling back in the booth. She hugs mum, then Payton, and climbs over to Ash.

She hugs him and moves on, just as his face goes red and he bites his lip really hard. You could hear a slight groan as he doubles over slightly. Everybody chuckles.

Dani, completely unaware of what she did, finishes up her hugs.

"Bye!" she waves.

They says their goodbyes back. I reach my hand out to Dani's. She wraps her hand around my two fingers.

"Okay, let's go home!" I cheer.

Where would Fae sleep though?
