(Painting of Virgil found on google)
Patton stood at the mirror and struggled with his tie as he had no energy to even tie it. He let out an annoyed sigh and sat down on the little round chair that was underneath the dresser part of the mirror. In one corner of the mirror was the picture of Roman and Virgil happy as could be and in the other corner was a picture of the group before everything happened. Patton remembered the night it was taken quite vibrantly.
"Patton, hurry to the living room! I want to take a picture and remember this beautiful moment!" Roman exclaimed from upstairs as he ushered everyone else into the living room, kind of annoyed at him. "Coming!" Patton called and raced into the living room where he proceeded to trip over his shoe and fall into the group hard enough to knock them into a pile upon the floor, the camera shook and fell, snapping the picture from the floor; where it turns out to be one of their best silly pictures.
"Pat," A knock on the door following Patton's nickname before Logan peeked into the room, "Are you ready? It's almost time." Patton turned to look at Logan and wiped away the fresh tears that threatened to fall, "Just need to finish my tie..." It reminded him of the charity ball when Roman needed help with his bowtie. He stood and faced the mirror, quickly tying that piece of fabric before taking a breath and heading over to Logan, "I think I'm ready." They brushed off each other's suits. Patton wore light blue and red, that matched his favorite colors. Logan suit was colored with dark blue and black; as strange as the suits seemed for a funeral, they were perfect for a wedding. Logan gave Patton a weak smile before they both made their way out of the room and down into the large open room that held Roman's casket. It was weird and almost completely wrong seeing the once vibrant man just lay stalk still. Eyes closed and a peaceful look upon his face. The hall had filled with people that didn't even know the painter in person, every in some form of black and rainbow color.
Logan and Patton took their respective seats at the front of the room, next to the coffin, as Deceit and Remus walked in followed by a very depressed Thomas, who sat among the crowd. The pastor walked up to the small alter and began the funeral, not a dry eye in the crowd as it seemed millions cried for the dead. The funeral lasted no longer than ten minutes before the four closest to Roman picked up his casket and carried it out to the hearse, everyone else getting in their own cars ready to follow.
(The bold is spirits talking)
At the grave, next to Virgil's, was a hole dug where they lowered Roman into the ground before burying him. Patton, Thomas, and Logan stood at Roman's right side as Deceit and Remus stood on the other side as the preacher made his way to the front of the crowd and stood behind the two graves. On top of each grave, unable to be see by the living, stood two men. One dressed in a beautiful purple and black suit, with golden accents, his dark brown hair pushed slightly out of the way to reveal his beautiful amber eyes. The other was dressed in white and red, also with golden accents. His eyes shown with so much glee.
Rings upon their fingers as they had been set atop the graves.
"We are gathered here on this beloved day to unite these two souls together." He started, this was probably the weirdest request he had ever gotten before. "Virgil, I have always wanted to marry you. Since I first laid eyes upon you I never would have guessed that I would propose to you. But I fall hard, and usually break, but you caught me and held tight even though I didn't want to live. I could feel your love and I'm glad to be back within your loving arms." Virgil smirked his signature smirk before rolling his eyes, "I don't have any big speech prepared but I know I just want to spend the rest of forever with you."
The preacher cleared his throat then continued, "Roman Kingsley, do you take Virgil Anx to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do."
The crowd stayed silent as they imagined the couple saying the "I do's."
"And Virgil Anx, do you take Roman Kingsley to be your lawfully wedded husband?" The preacher paused. "I do." "You may now kiss your husband." Roman smiled brightly before he carefully pulled Virgil in where their lip locked for the first time in years; tears of joy falling down their cheeks as they both felt whole again.
The crowd did their best to cheer for the resting couple before everyone found their respective friends or family and left.
The family stayed just slightly longer. Remus walked over and placed flowers down on the graves and whisperer softly, "I'm glad you found you happily ever after." Before he turned and met with Deceit, who wrapped his arm around his husband and joined the other couple.
"Who wants coffee?" Patton asked in a quiet voice as they left the hill of the graveyard and down towards the parking lot where their vehicles sat in silence.
