Chapter 7
Sofia was feeling much better now. It was the day when Sofia got rid of the cast on her leg. She was happy about the fact that she would be able to walk in a couple of days and she wouldn't have to sit in the stupid wheelchair. She would be independent and wouldn't need anyone to help her with anything.
Her parents had gone to their busy lifestyle again. It hurt Sofia but she stopped begging them to be there for her. She hated to see them like that. The business world makes you cold-hearted, ruthless and empty except for the fact that you have loads of money. But money can't buy happiness or a family. Sofia had everything a person could want in life but she felt incomplete.
She felt complete with Simon. Whenever she was with him, she never felt that she was alone. She felt powerful and knew that there was someone who genuinely cared about her.
"Wow. You've done it, Sofia." Said the doctor as he cut the cast and threw it away. She recovered quite fast. Simon held her hand all the time the doctor was cutting the cast.
"Now slowly try to put your feet on the ground and try to stand without any support." The doctor asked Sofia to stand from the bed.
"C' mon princess. You can do it." Said Simon as he encouraged her.
Sofia stood for a moment but then she stumbled. Simon quickly pulled her back to her feet.
"C' mon princess. One more try. I know you can do it. You're really strong. C'mon!" Simon cheered as she tried to stand up on her two feet for the second time.
"Okay. That's it, Sofia. Great job!" The doctor praised Sofia as she stood for a minute without stumbling down.
"Just keep doing this exercise for a week. I'll see you after a week. Take care." The doctor said as he told them the time for their next visit.
Sofia asked Simon to accompany her home. They reached home to find it all empty. Sofia was thankful for her parents not to be home as they would have thrown a fit if they had found Simon with her in their house. Especially her mother. Just as she stopped thinking of her mother, a sound of heels clicking against the tiles was heard. Her mother was home. Just then she descended the stairs talking on the phone. She was shocked to see Simon standing behind Sofia's wheelchair.
"Okay. I'll call you later." Bella said as she hung up the phone.
"What is this boy doing here, Sofia?" She asked as she looked at Simon in disgust.
"I brought him here with me. You shouldn't have any objection because if you can bring your snobby friends then I can bring mine too. And stop calling him "this boy", mum. He has a name." Sofia replied in an agitated tone.
"What are you doing here?" Bella asked as she turned her attention to Simon.
"I would never step into this place. But I just came here because Sofia wanted me to." He said keeping calm.
"Get out of my house this instant!" Bella raised her voice as she pushed him back slightly.
"What are you doing, Bella?" Jeremy boomed. Now her father was also here. It couldn't get any worse. Sofia thought.
"Take me to my room, Simon," Sofia said as she touched Simon's hand.
"Don't touch my daughter!" Bella said aloud.
"What are you doing, Belle?" Jeremy asked her as he held her by her arm and dragged her to his study.
"That ordinary boy touched my daughter. Didn't you see it? She's talking back to me in front of him. She's disrespecting me for him." She spat.
"Calm down. Let's talk to them. I think it's not what we think it is." He said to her.
"Simon, I'm so sorry. I'm really embarrassed about my mother's behavior. I shouldn't have brought you here." Sofia said.
"Its okay, princess. I love you." He said as he hugged her.
"You what?" Sofia asked shocked.
"You heard it right. I love you. I always have." He said as he sat on his knees in front of her and held her hand.
"I didn't want to tell you like this. But I can't just keep it in anymore." He said as he kissed her hand.
"I love you too, Simon," Sofia said after a minute.
"Sofia, it's okay. I didn't tell you so that you'd reply to me the same. Don't say it unless you feel it." He said to her.
"No, I'm not saying it just to please you. I really love you, Simon. I guess I've always loved you too. I guess that's the reason why I never had a boyfriend." She said with a smile. His heart warmed to see her smile.
"Even though my mum never left a stone unturned to set me up with some arrogant billionaire sons of her rich snobby excuse of friends." She said and they both laughed. Just as they were laughing, the door knocked.
"Come in!" Sofia said among laughs.
"Simon. Mr. Taylor has requested you to meet him before you leave. " Mrs. Clarke said.
