Running
Time flew by quickly, and after two wild bachelor and bachelorette parties, it was their wedding day. The night before, Katsumi and Keiichi didn't see each other, and Katsumi, although not showing it, was actually very excited.
"Come on, Kat! The wedding's in 4 hours and we need to get you ready!" Naka cheers, grabbing her best friend's wrist, dragging her into the rather spacious walk-in closet/ dressing room as Chii trailed behind them, chuckling.
"It's in four hours. We'll be ready in one. We don't need-" Katsumi tries, but Naka puts a finger to the lawyer's lips. "Hush, just let us do our job, okay? The make up artists and hairstylists will be here soon. They advised a hot bath and cold shower before they come. Now hurry up and do it!"
Naka shoves Katsumi into their mansion's bathroom, Katsumi having no choice as Naka guarded the door. "Fine. Just don't shout at me from across the door. I'll take about 30 minutes."

After doing Naka's instructed orders, Katsumi found herself in quite the... erm.... predicament.
"What the hell are all these?!"
On hers and Keiichi's bed laid more than 5 sets of very very sexy lingerie that left little to the imagination. "It's for you to wear of course! We need to make sure your night Keiichi tonight'll be special, right?" Naka grins.
"Can I at least have decent underwear? You know, like ones that actually serve the purpose?"
"Don't be so uptight! It's your wedding night tonight and you need to make sure you're ready for the after party at home!" Naka giggles, grabbing the first set of lingerie.
But luckily for Katsumi, the sets were mostly composed of the color white and a very light blue, which would at least blend with her wedding dress. "Just put it on, then tell Naka an excuse." Chii whispers, giving her the pack that Naka handed to her.
"Fine."
After about 30 minutes of trying on different lingerie sets, they only had two left. But unfortunately, the less revealing one was slightly small for Katsumi, meaning she had to wear the revealing on... Which was bad because it was quite thin, barely covering anything.
"That's the one, Kat!" Naka squeals, "Put it on! The makeup artists and hair stylists will be here in a few minutes."
"Wait but-" "Just go!"
After changing into the lingerie, Katsumi had put on a small dress just so the white wedding dress won't get ruined while the makeup and hair was being done.
By the end of the almost 45 minute makeover, Katsumi ended up with a light layer of makeup, but enough that it could bring out her greatest points. Her hair was straightened near the top, but it formed into beautiful, loose curls by the end, which was styled and pinned into a princess-like hairstyle.
"You look so beautiful, Kat! Hurry! We need to get you in the dress. We already painted your nails so we only need to get your jewelry and shoes. Then we'll get your bouquet and-"
"Calm down, Naka. We have two hours." "Just hurry!"
~*****~
Katsumi climbs into the limo, making sure she didn't dirty her wedding dress, of course, with the help of her loyal best friends. She was feeling giddy, definitely. Her friends, the gang from high school, had already RSVP'd and so did the bidders to attend her wedding.
Of course, like she promised Keiichi, Katsumi held the letter he had given her in her hand, waiting impatiently to walk down the aisle, just to open it. And of course, wed the man she loves.
Once they got there, standing and waiting for Katsumi before the walk down the aisle was her brother Katsuki, since you know, her father was gone.
"Kat! You look beautiful, sis." he smiles, but then smirks playfully, "It was almost as if you running around the house with a princess gown was only yesterday."
"Shut up!" she laughs, smacking his arm softly. "Haha, I'm kidding. You look pretty though, Keiichi's a lucky man. But.... Not a Yuriko anymore, hm?"
"That also means I won't have to deal with you anymore." she sticks her tongue out at her brother playfully, taking the bouquet from Chii, who was holding it.
"I know you're joking. But anyway, only a few more minutes, are you ready?" "Mhm..."
The minutes ticked by and soon, it was already time for Katsumi to walk down the aisle. The piano began playing, signaling them to begin walking. But as the brother and sister walk underneath the archway that leads to the aisle, and to the altar, Katsumi noticed the confused faces of her guests. For a moment, she tears her gaze away from the altar, until she follows the gaze of the guests, looking towards the aisle.
The empty aisle, where Keiichi was supposed to be standing.
~*****~
The whole wedding was put on hold and the guests were walking around or just sitting down, muttering among themselves as Katsumi sat by the steps that lead to the gazebo where the 'altar' was supposed to be.
The letter was clutched in a fist in her hand, wrinkling it a bit. But then she got an idea. He said to open it when she got to the altar, right...?
She hurriedly opens the envelope, pulling out a piece of paper which had the elegant writing of her husband on it. She though it'd be a special letter or something, and it was, but...
Dear Katsumi,
Never really thought the day'd come I would care enough to leave a letter for someone. I guess this is a first, hm?
If you're actually reading this at the altar, I want to say, I'm sorry... I want to be there, okay? I want to be there with you, to be beside you, to be finally be able to call you mine. But...
I can't.
Now here's the part where you'll get really mad at me. I kept secrets from you, ones that not even my old 'mistress' knew about... Not even my own family. I actually have a heart condition, my parents knew this, but they thought after one surgery, everything was fine, since I never actually had anymore attacks or anything.
But recently, a few months before we actually met, I've been getting minor attacks, nothing too serious. Only my trusted butler, James, knew about the attacks. I was supposed to have a donor and get surgery a week ago, but another young man needed it so I gave it up. My attacks have been getting worse, but luckily, you weren't there to actually, you know, see it.
I just want to explain everything before you assume I left you for someone else or something like that. But I guess I just want to tell you that even though I'll probably be gone by the time you read this, I love you now and I'll love you until my eyes close for the last time, okay?
Just, I want you to find someone else, but just don't forget me. Keep that locket I gave you.
I love you Katsumi Yuriko. It's funny, because I was so close to having you as Katsumi Tsukino.
~Keiichi
And the tears finally fell, Katsumi ran out the garden, leaving the guests to stare and her friends and brother to call after her as the rain began to pour. But she was already long gone.
~*****~
Sitting on the windowsill of their bedroom, Katsumi lets her tears flow freely as she breathes in the familiar scent of her fiance, his jacket draped over her rain-soaked figure, his cologne still lingering on the piece of clothing.
Then her phone rang, it was Keiichi.
Her eyes shot open wide as she frantically answered. And the weak, weak voice of her fiance called out. "Katsumi...?"
And in less than five minutes, she was out the door.
Running to see and hold her beloved once more.
