I Love You
"Katsumi! Wake up! We're going to be late for the morning ceremony!" Therese's panicked voice wakes Katsumi from her slumber.
"What?" "Let's go! We have an hour before the morning ceremony!" "Seriously?! Let me get ready."
Despite living in Japan for a long time, her English never dissipated, never did along with the small British accent she had.
Happy she showered the night before, Katsumi quickly changes into the school's uniform. (It's the uniform above)
"I'm ready, let's go!" she grabs Therese's hand and drags her out the room. "What else do we need?"
"Nothing much," Therese replies quietly, fixing her tie and hair. "After the ceremony, we have time to grab breakfast at either the cafeteria or cafes of a sort."
"Alright... It's 8:00 am, when does class start?" "Around 9:00, the ceremony is about 20 minutes and we have free time for the rest."
"Then hurry up. Let's go."

"Wow... They serve good food here." the ceremony went by and Therese, along with Mary, who caught up with them, were eating with Katsumi in the cafe.
"Right? I go here with James all the time." Mary smiles fondly at teh thought of her boyfriend. "Haha, you're lucky. I'm losing all my girlfriends to boys fairly quickly. Even Chii and Naka."
"Really? Wait... What about you?"
"What about me?" "Don't play dumb! Do you like anyone? I talked with Katsuki the other day, and he said you were on a school trip with hot boys!"
"Really? Tell me, Kat!" Therese, too?
"I was on a trip. That's how Naka and Chii got their boyfriends."
"Don't you steer the topic! I heard Katsuki talked to your friends Naka and Chii themselves. So... Who's Homare and what does he look like?"
"I don't like him. Besides, I'm going to be betrothed soon."
"What?! What about true love?! You told me as a kid that your dream was to marry a prince!"
"I was naive back then, okay? Besides, I... doubt he even likes me."
"Whatever you say, but seriously, Katsumi, you only live once."
"Sure, sure."
~*****~
"Yeah, really, now?... Of course. Yup."
Katsumi was speaking to Chii and Naka in a group chat call. "Send letters...? Come on, why would I send letters to Midorikawa? No."
"Hey, Kat, we've got to go. Dinner is out on the school courtyard tonight."
"Really? What're we wearing? Uniform?" she holds the call for a moment, looking to Mary and Therese, who were getting ready. "No. The dean of Brookhouse is coming."
"Oh, my brother's school?" "Yeah, and the students of Brookhouse are coming too."
"Alright... So what do we wear?" "Oh... Did I forget to tell you?" Mary asks with dilated eyes, turning to her friend.
"Wait... Tell me what?"
"Oh yeah... Um... we have like a tailoring class here and the teacher was supposed to help you make an evening dress for occasions like these..."
"Mary!!!" "Sorry! But we have 4 more hours before it! I'll help you and the tailor make it together."
"I can lend a hand, too, if you want?" Therese offers.
"Really? Thanks. I need to finish this then. Chii, Naka?"
She turns back to her phone. "Yeah, I need to go get ready for some evening dinner... Yeah. See ya."
"Let's go."
~*****~
"Thank you, Ms. Miller. We'll see you tomorrow!" Mary waves as they exit the room. Delicately folded in her arms, Katsumi held a white cocktail dress.
"Hurry, Kat! We have 2 hours. And we need to arrive 30 minutes early for preparation." "Alright, I'll be out in a few." she nods and runs back to their dorm.
About 45 minutes later, the girl comes out wearing the dress, with matching white low heels. Her hair slightly wavier than usual with silver dangle earrings.
"Good, we got time to spare, let's go! The earlier the better!" Therese smiles and leads them both out to the courtyard of the school.
Most students were already gathered, seated in tables set up in the wide yard. A lit fountain stood tall in the middle of the yard, the lights outshining the small Chinese lanterns hung on trees around the wide area.
"Wow, they went all out." Katsumi made an impressed expression but Mary only merrily laughed. "Hon, you haven't seen 'all out' just yet. For me, I'd only give this a 4."
"Jeez, Mary... Any more better than this?" "They're exclusive, after all, hon."

That night, after the long get together, Katsumi just ended up speaking to her brother whilst Mary had ran off with her boyfriend, who turned out to be studying at Katsuki's school. Therese ended up speaking to a cute boy all night, mingling with a few other girls.
As they all returned to their respective dorms, Mary separated for her own dorm, leaving Therese and Kat to walk back together.
"So how was your first evening dinner here at Blackwell?"
"Pretty good." "Don't lie to me. You've only been talking to your brother the whole time. Girls have been glaring at you all night, Kat. Saying something about you hogging Katsuki."
"Hey, he is my twin brother. I have the right to speak to him."
"Yeah, yeah... So earlier, you were talking to Chii and Naka from Japan, right? What were you talking about?" she asks as they walk down the almost empty halls.
"Nothing much, except for them saying how the boys said they missed me. And something about writing letters to Homare." Katsumi opens their dorm room door, stepping inside as she switches the light on.
"Oh yeah, who is Homare?" "A partner of mine during the trip. They said they totally shipped us from the moment we stepped into that school bus."
"Do you miss him? Do you plan on writing?"
"No. Hell, I haven't even got the boy's cell number. Well, not that I know of." she sighs, tugging her jacket off, "And besides, he should find a girlfriend who isn't going to be engaged soon. It would never end well."
"Don't you have a slight bit of feelings for him?"
"...I... I honestly don't know. Maybe?"
"Well, you should think about it! Who knows, maybe you;ll have a fairy tale ending and be rescued by him!"
"I think you're drunk." she chuckles, causing her room mate to pout, but turn serious. "Really, Kat. You never know. He could be your soulmate."
"Yeah, I'll think of it."

Therese fast asleep, Katsumi laid in bed, tossing and turning. She was thinking about her best friends' suggestions. Should she write to the boy?
Sighing quietly, she silently got out of bed and grabbed a pen and paper, writing. But her heart having taken over, she stared blankly at the paper as her hand guided her.
The last line of the letter read:
"I love you."
