Prologue

The Moonpool glowed brightly with the light of the stars overhead. Four cats were beside it. A black tom stepped forward. "We all know why we are here. We must receive answers on our strange, mysterious dreams." He meowed. Silverstar nodded and stepped forward. "Yes, Stormstar. The dreams are quite unnerving.."

"Well, I want answers NOW." Hawkstar growled. Rainstar blocked the Moonpool. Hawkstar growled.

"Move. Now." He snarled. The WindClan Leader shook her head. "We should speak with StarClan together." She meowed firmly. Behind her, the glowing, watery depths of the Moonpool rippled as if StarClan agreed with Rainstar. Stormstar nodded.

"I agree." He went around Rainstar and crouched comfortably beside the Moonpool. Silverstar took her place beside him. Rainstar moved away from Hawkstar and crouched by Silverstar. Hawkstar growled at them before resting by the pool, across from the other leaders. "Alright..." Silverstar mewed calmly. Hawkstar's tail twitched. "Now." Stormstar meowed. The Clan leaders lowered their muzzles and let their noses touch the icy water.

Stormstar let his eyes close and felt the chill through his fur. Hawkstar felt the cold engulf him like a plague, and he stiffened against the cold. Rainstar breathed softly, awaiting the moment when she could find herself in StarClan. Stormstar opened his eyes. A cool breeze ruffled his fur. Beside him, Silverstar had already been waiting for the starry cats to arrive. Hawkstar and Rainstar soon arrived as well.

It wasn't long before the starry figures began to take shape. The Clan leaders could barely recognize them. Standing before them was Thunder, Tall Shadow, River Ripple, Wind Runner, Clear Sky and Graywing the Wise. "Thunder..." Stormstar breathed in shock. Hawkstar dipped his head to the ancient ShadowClan Leader of the far past. Rainstar stepped forward to greet Wind Runner, but she stopped her with a flick of her tail. Silverstar dipped her head to the first RiverClan Leader.

"We have brought you all here for a reason," Graywing the Wise began. Hawkstar stepped forward and cut him off. "Excuse me, sorry, but, we don't exactly know who you all are.." He meowed awkwardly. Clear Sky purred. "I am Clear Sky. The first leader of SkyClan." Graywing gave a brief nod. "I am Gray Wing. Long ago I became better known as Graywing the Wise." He meowed. Thunder came forward. "I am Thunder. The first ThunderClan leader." "I am Wind Runner." The with she-cat put in. River Ripple came next. "I am River Ripple. Creator of Apprentices and the first RiverClan leader." Last came Tall Shadow. "My name is Tall Shadow. I was the first ruler of ShadowClan." Hawkstar nodded in understanding and sat down beside the other current Clan leaders.

"There is something important we must tell you." Gray Wing continued. "A prophecy?" Stormstar asked. Thunder nodded, and River Ripple spoke. "Yes, a prophecy." Behind the ancient cats, a fire rose up, the huge flames crackling like dry leaves under a cat's paw. The.fire died down until it was nothing more than a pile of ash and dust. Hawkstar opened his mouth to speak, but found that the words wouldn't come out. The wind picked up the ash and blew it away until there was nothing left. The shapes of ten cats formed and another cat stepped forward. Stormstar's eyes widened in horror. The cat with the purple color and black and white pelt with stars twinkling in his fur was none other than Scourge himself. "You all know who I am, so I will not waste moonlight with an introduction." He cleared his throat. "BloodClan is returning. But now, all they want is to be part of the Clans." He dipped his head and disappeared, leaving a trail of mist. The ten cat shapes where unrecognizable, merely star swirled holograms of the reality of a living cat.

Wind Runner opened her mouth to speak. "Though the legend of the Flaming cat is gone, Blood will return, and there will be ten that hold the power of LionClan, TigerClan and LeapordClan at their claw tips."
