Ch. 3 - It's All Fun And Games

Makoto went to school the next day. He didn't expect anything interesting to happen at all...

...And he was right. For half of the entire day, nothing exciting or new happened. He was bored...
Eventually the others took notice to Makoto's strange behavior. He wasn't bouncing in his seat like usual, but instead he had his head resting on the desk with a tired look cast upon his face.

It was really unnerving. The teacher asked if he was okay, to which he had responded with an "I'm fine!" and a smile. She could tell it was fake, but she didn't push it.

It wasn't until recess that something happened. And that something.. wasn't good...

The bell rang and the teacher ushered the kids outside so they could run around in circles. Makoto sat with Lovice.
They both were quiet. Lovice was reading her book while Makoto watched the other children play.

Lovice has had enough. "Are you okay?" Lovice closed her book, marking the page she was on with a bookmark. Makoto's head perked up and he gave her a reassuring smile. "I'm fine! Just tired..." He trailed off and looked back towards the other children, not meeting Lovice's gaze. She sighed and set her book down, before standing up.

"Alright. Get up." Lovice instructed, much to Makoto's confusion.
  "Wha.. Why??"

"Don't question me. Just get up."
Makoto slowly stood up, still confused. Lovice grabbed Makoto's hand and dragged him over to a couple of kids playing tag. "Hey! Can we join you?" The kids nodded, grinning playfully as they restarted their game.

Makoto looked at Lovice, who was smiling at him. "Come on you big dummy! Let's play!!"
Makoto laughed and began to run from the kid who was 'it.' He was laughing and screaming the entire time... it was fun.

  That is.. until...

"Hey!" A loud cry rang across the playground, causing Makoto to stop dead in his tracks. He looked toward where the sound came from, only to see none other than Daniel, the 'King' of the playgroynd, shove a younger kid off of the tireswing.
Makoto glared at him, bristling with anger as he watched the little kid cry and run off as Daniel grinned. "That'll teach you to go on my tireswing!"

Makoto started to walk towards the guy before being pulled back. "Mako no! Don't do it." It was Lovice. Her voice was filled with worry and slight fear. She knows what Daniel is capable of... she's been a victim of it...
He's a spoiled kid who thinks that the world revolves around him. Him and his stupid blond hair and blue eyes... He always looked so creepy and inhuman. And he will do anything to anyone that stands in his way.

Makoto struggled against her grip. "Let me at him! Someone's gotta teach him somethin'!" Lovice shook her head wildly. "No! You can't!"
It wasn't long before Makoto broke free. He stormed right over to Daniel and his cronies.

He was about to say something, when two of Daniel's friends grabbed his arms and held them tightly behind his back. Makoto winced slightly, but continued to glare at Daniel.

"Well, well, well... Look at what we have here! If it isn't Makoto!~ What brings you to my lovely kingdom?" Daniel's voice was filled with fake friendliness.
"You know why." Makoto hissed. You could get frostbite from how cold his voice sounded.

"I don't think I do!" Daniel grinned, shrugging slightly. Makoto growled, making Daniel put a hand over his heart, faking a look of surprise. "My my!~ Temper temper, my dear friend."

"I am not your friend." Makoto spat. Even he didn't know where this side of him came from... but he could feel something cold slowly wrapping around his small frame.

Daniel only chuckled, his cronies following suit. "You might want to watch your mouth, little dog.~"

Makoto glared, opening his mouth to say something before closing it. He relaxed, much to Daniel's surprise. "Oh? Is little doggy giving up already?~"

Makoto grinned. "Is little doggy giving up already?~" He mocked. He made his voice higher pitched and exaggerated it. Daniel gasped in surprise before glaring at Makoto, his own grin dropping and being replaced with a cold frown.

"Are you mimicking me?" He questioned angrily.

"Are you mimicking me?" Makoto copied, his grin widening. Daniel growled.
"Aww!! Now look at who's the dog." Makoto didn't even realize that those words slipped out of his mouth before it was too late.
Next thing he knew, his face was being pushed into the ground by Daniel's boot.

"This'll teach you... To mock the King!!"
