The wind roared against me, muting the surrounding nature as it guided me through the trees. Every shape and color blurred together with speed, leaving only what's in front of me to be seen. The day became shorter with every changing shade in the sky and nature, darkening as dusk grew near. More time had passed by before I realized that I had not even a single idea as to where I was going. I began to slow down, searching for anything around me that could be used for shelter or food. Slower, I continued my pace in order to stay alert for someone or something that could harm me. My hope had
already begun to run thin when I first made it into the woods, but now it's nearly gone.

Desperately, I stop in my tracks, looking around the woods one last time to search for anything to help me. The smell of burning wood brought a comfort I hadn't felt in weeks to my heart. To my left stood a cabin, old and rugged, but still livable. I grab a nearby stick to protect myself in case of an unexpected attack. Slowly, I walk to the mohagany colored door, opening it ever so slightly to take a peek inside. Nothing but dark red-orange streaks from the setting sun were seen, reflecting off of the wooden walls seen outside. I slowly step inside and shut the door behind me, letting a deep breath out as I listen: pure silence, I'm safe. As I begin searching a the single-person room, I hear a scratching noise coming from the wall south of me. Carefully, I walk to the noise, keeping the sound of the floorboards to a minimum. With each creak, the clatter increased. Once I reach the door, I could feel my blood drain to my feet as I touch the chilled doorknob. Listening closely, a pained moan reaches my ear, making me open the door as I give into my curiosity. If it wasn't for that god awful sound, I wouldn't be alive.
