Marinette's POV

On the couch sat Alya, Nino and Adrien.
The last thing I needed right now and my patience wasn't the best at the moment. All this is going to cause is chaos.
Alya spoke up before any other one of us had a chance.

"Hey Mari."

I was in no mood to act positive so I cut to the chase

"How did you guys get in?"

Her expression deflated when she heard my reply and I knew it hurt her, but the sooner she hates me the better.

"The Pin trick we learned a few years back."

Nino rushed to keep her from speaking and asked me the obvious question, which has been hanging in the air since I entered the room.

"How are you holding up?"

"Really?"

He looks at me and quietly whispers back, "Really."

"No offense you guys but I'm really not in the mood for the whole 'let's cheer up Marinette cause her parents are dead' thing."

"Marinette, we're just trying to help, you're not-"

I cut her off, I just wanted to have some quiet, it shouldn't be this hard.

"I don't want help, I don't need it. If you could leave that would be great."

I waited for all of them to leave and locked the door behind them, all the locks so they won't be able to get it, even with the pin trick.

I ran into the bathroom and slid down the door. Tears streamed down my face and I muffled my cries by bitting on my hand with my teeth.
The hurt in her eyes when she left. Even if it's for the better, it still hurts to let her go.
I take a few deep breaths and I hear a familiar scream enter my earshot. I change into the clothes I had yesterday and run to find Tikki who's standing on my desk in worry.

"Marinette I'm not sure about this."

I ignore her and transform without her verbal consent. I'll apologize to her later. I run across the roofs of Paris as another scream hits the area. I finally recognize the voice, Lila.

I reach a tall building where the brunette is being restrained next to the same villain that disarmed me a couple days ago. I feel rage grow within me when Chat arrives on my side.

She gives me a knowing glance and throws Lila over the edge before I could even think of a plan of how to defeat her. So I do the next right thing. (Iconic Frozen 2 moment)

"Chat, take Lila somewhere safe."

"On it."

He catches her and runs away, I have limited time. He won't leave me alone like he did last time.

"Wrong move Mari."

"I wouldn't say so."

She thinks about it and pops her tongue when she figures it out.

"You're smarter than I thought."

She clicks her fingers and everything goes black.
