Misty pov

"Wait so....Paul and I are going to be....partners?" I asked still confused.

The Proffeser nodded slightly. He had sat us down after Paul and i formally introduced ourselves and started explaining why he called me here today. There was just one problem.

I was still confused.

"You want to be a Gym Leader?" I asked Paul.

He nodded and I did the same back understanding he wasn't the typed that talked alot. Unlike Dawn.

Or Ash......

"Misty?" Professor Oak said snapping his fingers in my face,"Are you ok?"

"Yeah sorry, just thinking" I said hoping the Professor would by it.

He didn't. I could tell in his eyes that he knew I was still thinking about Ash, but for my sake he said ok and we moved on.

"Ok so Misty will you? The Pokemon League Board will approve him I know it" Oh God and here's were I come in,"But.....he needs training first."

Training? Thats all? Wait.....the Proffeser wants me to train him? Why? There are so many other better Gym leaders then me that the Proffeser could choose! So...why me?

This must be a dream.

"So Misty....will you do it? I know its a lot to take in.....but he wants to be a All type Gym Leader" Wait....he wants to be a ALL TYPE GYM LEADER? Huh....interesting, haven't seen that in a while.....I would take him for just a Rock type or maybe even ice, the Proffeser continued,"And I think your the best for the job! Well at least the 'Water type' part." The Proffeser smiled at me, seeing my shocked face from his kind words.

"Oh Professor.....how can I say no? I love you just like a grandfather and to see you have that much faith in me....well I won't let you down" I said confident.

Im a great Gym Leader!! I know I can make this boy great in water type Pokemon! Oh god I can't wait to get started! Im so pumped!!! I turned my head to look at Paul to see he's staring at me.....almost as if he's studying me.

"So Misty here's how its gonna go" The Proffeser caught my attention, making Paul and I lose eye contact,"Pauls going to be with you for 6 months ok? At the end of that time period Paul and come back and get ready to open his gym up here in Pallet Town."

Wait.....here? In Pallet Town? I mean thats great and all but why? We already have enough gym leaders here, I guess one must have dropped out. Erika did tell me she was pregnant.

"Have you had any other training with different gym leader types?" I ask Paul getting interested in his goal.

He nodded and said,"I only needed help in certain types since ive been a trainer for 7 years now."

"Wow, me too!! Well....ive been a trainer for 5 years and gym leader for 4, but its still the same really..." I started rambling,"What did you do as a trainer? Where did you go?? Did you travel with anyone?"

His eyes widened. I guess I kinda scared him with my rambling of questions but I cant help it.....I haven't been traveling in 4 years! I'd at least love to hear about his adventures.

"Hn....I travelled In Sinnoh alone for 6 years then at the end of my journey, that annoying pest Dawn decides to follow me." He said obviously annoyed with Dawn. I could tell instantly he didn't like her, I didn't either.

"How did you get rid of her?" I asked curious,"I mean...im not trying to pry, I know its none of my business.....just curious is all."

"Your right it isn't any of your business" I nodded, understanding something must have happend, but what?

Oh whatever. It's none of my business anyway, ill find out from him later. After all I am Misty Waterflower and I never give up I smirked boosting my ego.

Ha. Speaking of egos....Gary use to say,"Hey red, if that ego of yours gets any bigger your head will blow up" I would always laugh and retort,"Oh yah? Well then how come yours hasn't yet?"

We would laugh it off and go our sepret ways but I can't help but miss him right now. He always helped me with my Ash problems and I did the same for him and Leaf, he's like the older brother I never had.

"So, now that everyone understands you two should be heading off" Professor Oak told us shooing us away.

"Ok ok fine bye Proffeser ill see you soon ok?" I hugged him and he smiled, saying he would like that. I backed up letting Paul speak with the Proffeser.

"Thank you, the gym will be built when I come back right?" Paul asked  Professor Oak.

Wow I guess he really IS serious about this.

"Of course Paul, it will be more then ready and you asked for a small home to be built into it correct?"

I saw Paul nodd and I smiled, just like my gym.

"Ok well if there's nothing left to say then good bye you too and good luck!" The Proffeser smiled and shut the door leaving me and Paul on his doorstep.

"Well..." I said breaking the silence,"Its only a 35 minute walk to my gym in Ceruluen, shall we?"

He nodded and started walking as I followed, ready for what adventures await me and my new companion.
