The red white and blue lights flash as the beeping noise piercing my ears. A small crowd of people swarm around us in the middle of the night. I sob loudly as Spencer and Jilly hold me. I scream after him, "no Sodapop!" My black mascara runs down my cheeks as my tears flow swiftly.

I push Jilly and Spencer away running over to him. I stare down at him and he slowly, weakly, gabbing my hand. I hold softly trying not to hurt him as I whisper, "I'm right here babe and I'm not leaving. I love you okay?"

"I'm sorry," he whispers.

Three hours earlier...

"Sodapop, do you have anything you want to ask me?" I ask him sitting next to him on the couch grabbing a hand full of popcorn.

He shrugs looking over at me, "nothing that I can think of..."

My heart drops and I turn to face him, "at all?"

He nods, "why should there be? Am I missing something?"

I nod my head looking dumbfounded at him, "you don't want to be official."

He spits his drink out all over to floor, "official?"

"Yeah?" I cock my head to the side. "You do love me...right?"

"Yeah, I do. Of course I do. Although official? Like boyfriend and girlfriend?" He asks.

I roll my eyes standing up, "you know what? I'm sorry I even asked! Clearly you don't want to and I shouldn't of pushed."

He stands up and grabs my hand, "no! No! Of course I wanna be official! I love you Lace...C'mon."

"Just stop," I pull my hand out of his grasp.

"Will you be my girl?" He asks.

I turn around giving him the dirtiest look ever, "is that seriously the way you're gonna ask me? Just go!"

He sighs, "Lacey...please."

"Get out of my house!" I snap.

"I'm sorry," he whispers as he walks away sadly.

I roll my eyes scoffing, "whatever."

Two Hours Earlier...

"Okay Sodapop, I'm sorry," I sigh into the phone. "I was being over dramatic. Just please get back to me, I'm getting worried. Listen, I know you want to be official and I know why you haven't asked me. I just love you and I want to be official. I do. So there you go, my 'I won't say no' statement. I love you Sodapop and please return to me."

"Sodapop, why aren't you answering me? I know I messed up and I'm sorry. I was over-reacting, just please answer me. I love you Sodapop and normally I would make you wait, but not this time. I love you, please. Just come back to my house."

"Sodapop, I am literally freaking out right now. You normally get right back to me or at least somebody in the gang tells me your out. Are you trying to break up with? I told you I'm sorry, you know I'm irrational. You know I'm over-dramatic. If you don't want to be official yet, we won't be. I love you Sodapop.

"Please Sodapop, answer me. I love you. I need you. I miss you. I'm sorry. I don't know what you want me to say. Please baby, answer me."

"Please don't break up with me. Sodapop, I love you so much. I don't need to be official, would I prefer it? Yes. Although, I don't need it because, we're in love. That makes it so we don't need anything because, we have our love. Call me. I love you and I'm sorry."

"Sodapop please answer me! Please! I am so desperate. I love you. I'm so so so so sorry. I'm sorry if I pressured you. I'm sorry if you weren't ready. I'm sorry if you didn't want to be official. We can have any status you want. I am so sorry and I love you."

"This is the last time I'm calling. I just really want you to know that I love you and I'm sorry. Please call me back or do something. I'm driving myself crazy. I don't want to mess up this relationship like I did a year, a year and a half ago. I hope you know that whatever you're comfortable with, I'm happy with. I love you Sodapop and I'm sorry. Bye."

One Hour Earlier...

"Lacey, you have to get out of the house," Jilly walks into my house.

"I can't," I sigh as I sit right below the phone. "I'm waiting for Sodapop to call me back."

She sits next to me and side hugs me, "I'm sorry. I heard what happened. I'm sorry."

I look down at the ground sighing a tear or two slipping out of my eyes, "I am so stupid. I was acting crazy and then I was that girlfriend who called none stop."

She chuckles, "he thought it was cute."

"Really?" I perk up looking over me.

She stands up helping me up without letting me fall, "yeah, he's just a little annoyed. He doesn't want to freak out on you because, he thinks you were being unreasonable."

I nod my head sighing, "I get like that sometimes, but when I am like that, I don't mean what I'm saying."

"He wants to be official," she smiles.

I blush looking down at the ground, "that is awesome! I love him."

A few minutes earlier...

"Yeah, I'll see you there," I smile into the phone biting my lip slightly.

"I love you," he whispers softly into the phone letting me know he's surrounded by the boys who would tease us.

I chuckle to myself happily, "I love you too Sodapop, I'll see you in a few minutes."

As I hang up the phone I turn to Spencer and Jilly, "walk me to the park, but when Soda comes-"

"Leave," Jilly chuckles. "Got it."

"Thanks," I hug them both.

I watch as Soda hopes out of his car, "Lacey!"

BEEEEEP!!!!

A car comes speeding down the street. My eyes go wide, "SODAPOP WATCH OUT!"

He turns around to see the car and freezes just standing there as the car continues to speed down the road. I watch as the car hits him and he goes over the car. "SODAPOP!" I screech as Jilly holds me back sobbing I scream. "No! Let me go! I need to see my love! SODAPOP! SODAPOP!"

He lays on the ground lifelessly as I sob uncontrollably getting held back by Spencer and Jilly. Jilly pulls me in for a hug, "shhh, it's gonna be okay. Trust me."

I look up into her broken eyes tears on the brim of her eyes, "SODAPOP!!!!"

"Somebody get the cops," Spencer breathes.

"HELP!! Somebody please help us! We need help!" I screech before hearing sirens. It doesn't take long before there's a crowd of people surrounding us and Soda being taken away in an ambulance.

"This is all my fault," I whisper to Jilly and Spencer as I sob loudly.

Okay, so this is more of a sad chapter after a ton of happy chapters. So this is the first dramatic moment that has happened. What do you guys think? This is the start of the book! Stay gold. Do it for Johnny!
