Author's Pov:

It's been four days since their anniversary. Mingyu is rarely home now, he spends most of his time with Eunji. Today Aera decided to talk to him.

"We are leaving tomorrow, Mingyu. Can you atleast stay tomorrow? Not like we will never meet you but can't we just stay as a family for last time?", Aera asked. Mingyu looked at her, "I-I will be there tomorrow". Aera gave a small smile.

"Aera", Mingyu stopped her from going, "I wish you happy life after this. I wish you to find a person who will love you more than me. Who can give you all the happiness".

Aera bit her inner cheek and nodded. Closing the door of his room, slowly tears fell from her eyes, "Why I am getting so weak day by day? Why am I even crying now?". Aera rubbed her tears.

Mingyu stood by the door listening to her, "I am sorry, Aera. I can't see you leaving me or this house". Mingyu removed his glasses and called Seokmin,

'Can we meet?'

Aera saw him going out but didn't question him thinking he must again be going to Eunji. They have already signed divorce papers. Aera also has started shifting her things to Jeonghan's house. Aera wanted to live in her own apartment but  Jeonghan too stubborn to listen.

In these four days, everyone was slowly changing. Jiho had become quieter now a days. Mingyu is rarely home. Aera is becoming more emotional, slowly losing herself but still staying strong for Jiho. Whenever they both are together, there is an awkwardness.

Aera was again alone in the house. She remembered the half completed painting of Mingyu. Entering the room, she saw the painting still laying there. "Should I complete it?", Aera whispered.

About Minghao, Aera didn't hear about him since their anniversary. The painting he made of her was still in her mind, she had questions about it but Minghao was not here. She got to know that Minghao has gone to China to meet his family.

It felt as if time was going slowly. Aera completed her painting but something looked missing in it. There was something lacking in it. As she continued to stare at the painting, Aera realized that it was a reflection of her own emotions.

Aera sighed, a mix of frustration and sadness. She couldn't understand what was happening to her, she was slowly losing herself, she was slowly changing into a different person. Busy in her thoughts, Aera didn't notice the sound of door opening. She turned around to see Mingyu who was staring at the painting she made. His eyes met hers and for a moment both stood there in silence.

"What are you doing here?", Aera asked. Mingyu shook his head, "Uhmm, no. I came to tell you that I am not going anywhere tonight". Aera nodded. It hurted both of them see the distance which they were slowly creating within themselves. A small invisible line was drawn in between. Both knew this distance is hurting the other but still decided to ignore it.

"I'm sorry, Aera," Mingyu finally spoke, his voice filled with regret. "I never wanted things to turn out this way. I never wanted to hurt you".

Aera looked at him, her eyes filled with a mixture of pain and understanding. "I know, Mingyu," she replied softly. "But sometimes, even when we don't want to, we end up hurting the ones we love".

Mingyu nodded, his gaze dropping to the floor. "I wish things could have been different," he whispered. "I wish I could have been the person you needed me to be".

Aera walked towards him, her heart heavy with emotions. She reached out and gently touched his arm. "We can't change the past, Mingyu," she said, her voice filled with compassion. "But we can choose how we move forward from here."

Mingyu looked up at her, his eyes filled with a mix of gratitude and sadness. "I don't want to lose you completely, Aera," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper, "Even if we can't be together, I still want you in my life".

Aera smiled softly, tears welling up in her eyes. "I don't want to lose you either, Mingyu," she replied. "But we both need to find our own paths, our own happiness". They stood there, holding onto each other's presence, knowing that their journey as a couple had come to an end.

"Shall we pick up, Jiho?", Aera suggested. Mingyu nodded. Picking up Jiho from his school, they decided to spend their time together, for one last time.

Mingyu sat on a bench, he smiled seeing Aera and Jiho playing together. This is how had imagined his future to be when he first carried Jiho in his arms. A small but happy family. It was slowly coming true, but what was the use when he messed up everything.

Taking his phone out, he started clicking pictures and videos of theirs. He wanted the cherish the every passing moments. Jiho came running to him, "Appa, let's get some ice cream". Mingyu nodded and went to bring the ice cream.

"Jiho, there's ice cream on your face", Aera said wiping his lips and cheek.  "Appa, you will be there tomorrow right?", Jiho asked. Mingyu hesitantly nodded. Aera looked at him with doubtful eyes.

By the time they reached home, Jiho was already asleep. Aera picked him up but before leaving the car she said, "I don't mind much of you are there tomorrow or no but Jiho definitely does". Seeing Aera going inside the house, he closed his eyes and rested his head on the steering wheel, "Will this be our end, Aera?".

He stayed like that for while before going inside. He stopped by Jiho's door, thinking whether to go in or not. Just then Aera opened the door, hitting her head against his chest.

"What are you doing here?", she asked. "Why didn't you change your clothes still? Now don't tell me that-"

Before Aera could continue he hugged her. "Let's stay like this for few mintues, please", Mingyu whispered. Aera hugged him back.

Next Day:

Today early in morning when Aera woke up, Mingyu wasn't there. She found his note,

'Some work came up, so I am going'

Aera crushed that paper throwing it into the bin. While packing all her things, Jiho sat down and asked, "Eomma, will I never meet Appa after this?".

Aera shook her head, "It is nothing like that, Jiho. You will be staying with me but you can meet Appa whenever you want". Jiho smiled, "Really?". Aera nodded.

Soon it was time of their leaving but Mingyu was still not home. Jeonghan  came, "Let's go". Jiho stopped him, "Can we wait for few minutes please? Appa must be coming". Jeonghan looked at Aera who nodded.

Aera took her phone out and tried calling Mingyu who didn't pick up her call. She then called Seokmin just to recieve a shock in return,

'What do you mean by he is still not home? Didn't he tell you that he is not in Seoul for next 2 days for business purpose? I thought he told you about this'

Aera hanged up the call, "He is not coming Jiho, let's go". Jiho shook his head, "Appa wil com-"

"He is not coming Jiho. Let's go", Aera sternly said. She once looked around the house. Sighing she went out, "I just wanted to say a proper good bye Mingyu but I think you were too busy with your work", she whispered underneath her breath.

Two Day's Later:

Mingyu entered his house just to meet utter silence. He sank to the floor, overcome with emotion. He knew he had made a mistake, but it was too late now. He had lost the love of his life, and he didn't know if he would ever be able to get her back.

As he sat there, alone in the silence. The silence was deafening, and it was a constant reminder of the mistake he had made. He knew that he would have to live with the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life, and that thought was almost too much to bear. In that moment, Mingyu realized that he had lost more than just Aera and Jiho. He had lost a part of himself, and he didn't know if he would ever be able to get it back.

He got up and saw the frame of them, Mingyu kissing her forehead while she was beaming with happiness. His one hand on her head while the other one caressing her baby bump. His fingers slowly tracing the picture. He smiled in tears, "You looked so happy during our marriage".

Meanwhile:

Aera was in her room while Jiho was outside playing with Yuna. She looked out of window. Looking at the moon. She remembered the times when they would go on roof top and spending hours there seeing the moon and stars. Shs hasn't contacted Mingyu since the time she left from there.

Mingyu reached there and looked at Aera's room. She was there, looking at the moon. He kept staring at her. "I wish this all was a dream, so that I can just wake up as soon as possible and everything will go back to it's place", Mingyu said looking at her.

He stood there few minutes until he felt a hand on his shoulder. Turning around he saw Jeonghan who was not definitely not happy seeing him here, "I saw you standing here for last 20 mintues. You are coming in or just standing here and staring at my sister like a creep?".

Mingyu shook his head, "I don't think I can come in". Jeonghan took his hand, "They both are missing you. That day too they waited just for you but..".

"Actually you know what, I want to beat the shit out of you right now for hurting my sister but I think you are already suffering enough", Jeonghan said staring at him.

Mingyu looked down, "Don't tell them I was here. I am going back". Jeonghan moved aside letting him go, "I can see Mingyu, you still have a chance and I don't know why I am even saying this but I can't see Aera like this".

Mingyu looked at him, "There is no use of that chance. I can't do it anymore nor can she. She had enough, now I want her to live happily. It is better if we part our ways forever". Saying this Mingyu driving away.

Jeonghan shook his head and looked at Aera who already had his gaze fixed on him. She smiled sadly, she got up and closed the windows. Jeonghan went inside and directly went to her room. Knocking her door lightly, he entered her room.

"Are you fine?", Jeonghan asked. Aera nodded, "What did he say?". Jeonghan told her everything. Aera chuckled, "Such a coward he is".

Jeonghan hugged her, "You can cry in front of me and tell me anything?". He patted her head. Coming under his embrace, Aera started crying,

"I don't know why Jeonghan but it feels as if I am losing myself. It feels as if I have lost something important in my life".

Jeonghan rubbed her back as Aera cried. He couldn't see her. 'When did you grow up so much Aera?'. He couldn't see her crying anymore. If someone knew Aera better than Mingyu was him. He patted her head, "I am with you Aera".

"I may sound like an idiot if I say that my heart still wants to give him another chance".
