Used Again
(Fun fact: Todoroki is a mess and nobody knows. But he's like, a total mess)
Izuku had been taken to the teachers by a worried.....someone. Why were they in Recovery Girls clinic? They looked at him in wonder. It made him feel uncomfortable. Some skinny man with blond hair he didn't recognise was the first to speak up. "Y-Young Midoriya!"
He recognised the voice, but not the person. And who was 'Midoriya'?
A sad looking man obviously going through a mid-life crisis stood up. "Midoriya?" He walked over. Izuku didn't even look at him directly. Eyes trained ahead.
Some thing happened next. What, Midoriya couldn't tell you. All he knew was that he was in the dorm common-room. People stared at him, a blur of vibrant colors that hurt his dull eyes.
He recognised a few. Todoroki. Mina. Kaminari. Sero.....and...Bakugou. Bakugou made him feel scared. He couldn't remember why, and trying too made his brain hurt. The shocks the man had given him made his brain hurt. He could remember that the man had said to listen to Todoroki, or he'd hurt him again. He didn't have a problem with listening to Todoroki.
They sat him on the couch as Aizawa said things. Midoriya tuned him out. He left, and soon after a loud conversation started up. He wanted them to be quiet. Be quiet, be quiet, be quiet, be quiet! They all looked at him, not shutting up, but either talking about him, or talking to him. More like, talking at him. He tuned them out, liking the buzzing of their words, but hating them actually talking.
*.OuO.*
Time had passed. A week. Two. Three.
Midoriya was being tutored at the dorms. His mother came to see him every day. She seemed worried. He wanted to hug her and kiss her tears away, telling her that it was going to be okay.
But he didn't. He couldn't. Todoroki hadn't let him.
He didn't blame that on Todoroki. He didn't know Midoriya wanted to do that.
*.OuO.*
On the third week, Midoriyas lack of sleep was finally visible. People asked him what was wrong, as if he wasn't slumped over on the common-room couch, silent as a dead body. Midoriya had fallen into a schedule. Same place, everyday. The class pretended not to see how he walked around without purpose. Or how he only ate whenever he was alone. Or how he stopped muttering entirely after that first outburst. They pretended to not notice the way he followed Todoroki like a dog. Or how he cried each night.
It was 8:30. Bakugou had gone to bed. Todoroki seemed ready to pass out, as he headed upstairs, only slightly disturbed at the fact Midoriya followed him closely up the stairs. Almost touching him. Todoroki didn't allow people to touch him. It wasn't a subconscious thing, like he told people it was. It was, in a sense, a declaration that his personal space was his. It was also, in a sense, a plea to leave him alone. To let him shut himself down. To not have to worry about being hurt again.
Todoroki went inside his dorm, praying to some god he didn't believe in that Midoriya would go away. But nope. He walked straight inside. Right next to him. Todoroki almost told him to go away but, he didn't want to be rude to someone recovering from being kidnapped. That's just being an asshole.
He ignored Midoriya, and went to bed rather quickly, surprising to both of them. Midoriya waited until Todoroki was asleep, then took a nap on the floor.
*.OuO.*
Todoroki was awoken to thunder, and Midoriya huddled in a corner, whimpering. Todoroki was still half asleep. He checked the time. It was 1 AM. Todoroki was about to fucking ki a bitch. He had trouble sleeping anyway, he didn't need this.
Now, normally Tokodoki would've been concerned, but fuck that. Todoroki is not a morning person, and he slept in as much as possible. So 1 AM? Way out of his comfort zone. He was going to try, his hardest to not kick Midoriya in the head.
"Midoriya-kun?" Todoroki sat up, pissed off, and definitely sounding like it. Midoriya didn't even look up, (We reach 699 words) that asshole. Todoroki probably was just pissed off by the fact it was 1 AM, but also because Midoriya hadn't stopped whimpering.
Todoroki put on his 'I give a shit' face, and slowly moved closer to Midoriya.
"Hey..." Still no response, but that made sense. Midoriya hadn't spoken since that thing in the common room.
"Look at me." Midoriya looked up.
"Tell me what's wrong..."
Midoriya started to speak....
