-11-
Sherlock had invited himself to stay in my flat for the next few weeks. He didn't leave very often, he mostly made himself at home and fixed me tea every few hours. I watched him blankly, he knew my secret.
"Y/N, would you like some tea?" He called to me, I was reading a text book in my room.
"You just made me tea 30 minutes ago, Sherlock." I called back, looking up from my book.
"Would you like to go for a walk then?" He entered my room without knocking.
"Jesus, Sherlock!" I barked, jumping in surprise.
"Come on!" He lifted me out of my chair with ease, and brought me to the door.
"Hey!! Put me down!" I cried, hitting his back as he held me the way firefighters held who they were saving.
"You wouldn't come out of your room." Sherlock put me on the floor, in front of my shoes.
"I'm not a child, Sherlock!" I snapped, pulling on my shoes.
"I'm not a father." He shrugged. I gave him an amused look before standing again.
"Yes I know, that's a good thing!" I grinned mischievously. He scoffed and lead me out the door, swishing his long trench coat over his back. We got into a taxi, the ride was silent. I felt uncomfortable, my eyes locked on the foggy streets. Sherlock didn't utter a word, his eyes followed the road in front of us as we reached the London Eye.
I looked out at the massive wheel as we arrived, slightly in fear, but with a bit of excitement.
"The London Eye?" I looked at him curiously.
"Yes, come now." He took my hand softly and guided me towards the wheel. I felt my cheeks heat up when he grabbed my hand, but I hid it in my black scarf. We bought a ticket and waited our turn, the cold November weather swarmed us, I pulled my scarf further up my face and looked up at the wheel.
"Go ahead.." The tired looking security man sighed, opening our small capsule. I climbed in, sitting across from Sherlock. He looked over at me as the wheel began to move. I smiled childishly, looking out at the water. I noticed a tiny smile pull at his lips.
"My mom and I always came here when it first opened, I was a little old for it but I never cared." I smiled warmly, taking in my surroundings.
"I don't come here often." Sherlock spoke up, he glanced at me, his eyes warm.
"Then why come here now?" I asked, jumping slightly as the wheel began to turn.
"I never had anyone with me, who would expertly experience enjoyment."
"You can just say 'have fun'." I laughed, beaming at my friend. He chuckled and nodded.
"It doesn't sound intelligent." Sherlock smirked slightly.
"You don't always need to be intelligent, sometimes you can just be... Alive." I felt my heart leap as he reached across and put his hand on mine.
"Is... Is this 'alive'?" His eyes met mine, my face was burning, our eyes had locked. My heart was racing, I couldn't bring any words to my mouth.
"Y-yes." I answered softly.
"Then alive might not be as bad as I thought..." Sherlock paused for a moment; as if he was considering this idea.
"Do you want do die?" I saw no point in making this question any less blunt with Sherlock.
"Of course not, but like you said, I don't exactly 'live' like other people." He explained, still holding my hand.
"That's not bad either, be you Sherlock, but remember to have fun." I smiled, his eyes softened and he chuckled.
"You sound like John." He leaned back, letting go of my hand. I longed for him to hold it again, but I said nothing.
"I guess that makes sense, but that's not a bad thing." I looked out, we had reached the peak of the wheel. My eyes shone with excitement, I didn't even notice Sherlock staring at me, his eyes wide with surprise, he had never experienced attraction.
"It's wonderful up here.." My words were soft spoken, rolling carelessly off my tongue like I hadn't even said them. A sunset glowed in the distance, painting the sky orange.
"You see beauty in the world, a beauty that isn't defined by a dictionary, or seen with the naked eye. I don't understand how.." He whispered, I felt my heart skip when he finished. I turned back to him.
"I see the good in things, no matter what it's form, whether it's alive, or not. I just find it's beautiful.." I felt cheesy and embarrassed, staring at my feet.
"I see the world in a literal way, but part of me wishes I saw the world like you." He replied, his voice was so gentle, it sent my stomach fluttering and my heart racing.
"It's not bad I guess, but it's stupid sometimes, I don't like to see the bad in something, even when it's awful..." Liam came to mind when I finished that sentence. "I can be so naive.." My voice turned bitter. I felt his hands touch mine again.
"Not... Naive... You are so...." I met his eyes, he was closer this time. His eyes were swirling with emotions, emotions he'd probably never felt before. His scarf dangled from his neck, flowing softly in the wind. "So alive." He finished.
I smiled. That comment may have sounded like nothing, but from Sherlock, it was everything.
SORRY, I've been so late updating! Anyways here's a cute fluffy chapter ;)
