Mating season

Wendy's mouth open and closed, as if she had words to say but didn't have enough courage too.
"Oi Wendy.. You okay?" Natsu asked, concerned about the sky dragonslayer's behaviour.
"Of course she isn't flame brain!" Gajeel said hitting the Fire dragonslayer on the head.
"What was that for!" Natsu growled rubbing the lump on his head.
"Will you two quit it," Laxus sighed, this guild was absolutely crazy,"Wendy what's wrong?"
"I just, why would Cal lie?" Wendy whispered feeling betrayed.
"We're still investigating, but you should worry about mating season for now," Laxus replied.
"Why don't you guys have to worry?" Wendy asked.
"Well we kind of already marked our mates," Gajeel said, rubbing the his neck awkwardly.
"Wait mark?!"
The other dragonslayers looked at her like 'you didn't know?'
"Marking is just claiming your mate right?" Natsu finally stated.
"For once you use your brain," Gajeel mumbled rolling his eyes.
"What was that?!"
"Come on, stop fighting. I'll get you some books on the dragon mating season later Wendy. There should be a few books in the library that will give you a rough idea." Laxus said ignoring the other two dragonslayers that looked like they wanted to rip each others' heads off.
"Who's my mate?" She was curious, they said he was close by, but then who was is it?
"You'll find out soon," Natsu grinned. While the two hadn't been getting along lately, all the dragonslayers knew who Wendy's mate was. The connection between them was easy to notice.
"It just isn't Cal," Gajeel pointed out.
"You shouldn't have told her that," Laxus mumbled.
"We made it obvious before that he wasn't, just wanted to clarify." Gajeel said.
"Well dragonslayers' meeting over!" Natsu yelled pumping his fist in the air and running out of the small room.
The left dragonslayers just sighed.
"He'll never change."
"Stupid flame brain."
"Natsu-San...."
"Well I was going to say it was over before so just do your own thing." Laxus told the two then walked off.
"Umm okay."

Romeo's POV
I watched Natsu-San run in and start yelling at Gray-San for a fight. Of course the whole guild joined and now there was chaos.
Though the chaos didn't last too long as Erza-San handled the situation. Which meant bumping Natsu-san's and Gray-san's heads together and giving everyone else the death glare.
The glare sent cold shivers down my spine making me recline deeper into my chair.
"Hey Romeo."
A soft voice floated to my eyes, turning my head, my eyes were met with chocolate brown ones.
Wendy.
"Umm Hi Wendy," I greeted, trying to force the heat rising to my cheeks down."
"Can we talk?"
"Sure,"
She gave me a small smiled before turning and walking to a table in the far corner of the guild.
Taking this as the cue, I walked after her. What did she want to talk about?
I sat down opposite to her, watching as she gathered her thoughts.
"Umm," she bit her lip and looked down, I couldn't help but smile a little, still as nervous as ever.
"Don't be scared Wendy, I know I broke our friendship but I've changed." I told her, hoping it would give her a courage boost.
"Ummm that's what I wanted to apologise about," she whispered quietly,"I know it wasn't your fault you lost interest in Chelia."
I took her words in, she was apologising?
"If you don't mind me asking do you have anyone your interested in right now?"
I raised my eyebrows at her question, why was she so curious, well there's no use in hiding it. Maybe I should give her a hint..?
"Well, I do have someone in interested in, but it isn't anyone of those fangirls," I stated, I wonder if she would figure it out?
"Oh... Why not anyone of the fangirls?" She asked curiously.
"Well, to tell you the truth I have no idea why they like me so much. And frankly it's getting creepy seeing some of them stalk me all the way to my house," i shivered remembering the situation,"so I guess that's a valuable reason?"
She let out a giggle,"they stalk you all the way to your house."
I just nodded, happy to hear her laughing.
"You're becoming more like your father, in a good way of course." She told me.
I just ran a hand through my hair,"to tell you the truth I don't want to be like him. He's a bit of a pervert."
She just smiled at me. I knew there was another reason she asked to talk to me, I mean after knowing her for over 6 years made figuring signs out easily.
I decided to ask,"I know there's another reason you wanted to talk to me."
She blushed before answering,"uhh I need your help with something."
"What is it?"
"Well there's something about dragons and dragonslayers I need to learn so I was wondering if you could help me out." Her blushed deepened as she told me.
"Couldn't you have asked Cal?" They seemed to have become good friends, making me extremely jealous. Yes I admit, I'm jealous.
"Well I don't trust him as much as you,"
I blinked. Once. Twice. She trusted me more than him.
"You don't have to help me if you don't want to!" She exclaimed waving her hands frantically in front of her face.
I let out a chuckle,"I'll help."
This made her sigh in relief. All heat rushed from her face.
"Just tell me what it's about."
Maybe I said it too soon, Wendy looked at me with wide eyes as her face became as red as Erza-san's hair.
Immediately I regretted asking,"you don't have to tell-"
"No I will," she cut me off,"please don't take it the wrong way."
I nodded.
"It's Uhhh about...," she bit her lip, as I waited for the answer.
"Dragon mating season."
