"M-Mating Season?!" Romeo exclaimed, his face was beginning to heat up, and he was pretty sure it wasn't because of his magic.
"You don't have to help me if you don't want to!" Wendy told him, her face already as red as Erza's hair.
Romeo sighed,"no I told you before I would, so I guess I'll just have to deal with it."
Wendy gave him a grateful smile. Then she felt someone tap her on the shoulder.
"What is it Laxus-San?" She asked the Lightning dragon slayer.
"Books," was all he replied before dumping a mountain of research material onto the table.
"EEEEH???!! This many???" Wendy asked and exclaimed at the same time.
Romeo just looked at the pile of books, this might take a while, He thought.
"I guess we should get started," Romeo told the gaping dragonslayer. She just nodded and reached up to grab the book at the very top.
The rainbow fire Mage chuckled before getting it for her, making Wendy's face become even more tinted. This time with slight embarrassment.
She mumbled a thanks before opening the hard covered book.
Wendy's POV
I tried to ignore the presence of Romeo who was less than a metre and just behind a stack of books.
For some reason I just couldn't move on from him.
Attempting to distract myself I began scanning the book for anything that would be considered useful.
Dragons experience a process known as Mating season. This process happens once a year and those experiencing it will go through five phases, but depending on the dragon/dragonslayer, each phase may be longer or shorter than others. It is said that when the moon glows a prominent blue, the next day mating season will begin.
Like dragons, dragonslayers also go through this process as they have part of a dragon's powers in them.
Those of the age of 16 and above go through the process. Dragons and dragonslayers that have already found their mates, will become more affectionate than usual during dragon mating season. However every dragon/ dragonslayer that has not, will have an uncontrollable will to find and mark their mate.
Dragon/dragonslayers that have already found their mate will be able to sense the mates of those who haven't. It is said that this helps dragon/dragonslayers find their mates quicker.

Since Gajeel-San, Natsu-San and Laxus-San said that my mate was nearby, so I turned to page 7.
The process of mating season, signs and behaviour of dragon/dragonslayers who have sensed their mate nearby.
Different behaviour is experienced every phase of the season, depending on the dragon's personality, they may be more aggressive than others.
First phase- dragon/dragonslayer will become more affectionate to their mate, they may become extremely flustered when their mate is nearby and will most likely try to impress their mate.
Second phase- one in dragon mating season will become more hands on their mate,finding ways to touch their mate every time they see them. This behaviour becomes more often towards the end of the week.
Third phase- experiencer will become more aggressive, starting a battle with anyone who talks to, touches or even just looks at their mate. It is advised to make sure the experiencer is kept under supervision.
Fourth phase- the experiencer will be sane for this phase, they will have no recollection of anything that happened during the first three phases. This phases is the most unpredictable, it is near impossible to calculate how long one will stay in this phase.
Fifth phase- the most dangerous phase, the experiencer become very aggressive. They will find anyway to get mark their mate. It is highly advised to keep the experiencer locked up to avoid any havoc. However be warned the experiencer will have high intelligence during this phase, so it is advised to keep a good check on them.
Also note that the experiencer's mate should not reject the experiencer. One who is rejected by their mate will fall into a depressed state. Attempts of suicide is likely.
I stared at the information, shocked at the way I would be acting and I would have no control of it.
"Hey Wendy! You found anything yet?" Romeo asked, shaking me to try and break my shocked form.
"Y-Yeah," I stuttered.
"What's wrong?" He asked, concerned for me. I simply lifted the book up to show him.
"I don't want to be like that," I sobbed quietly, he took me in his arms, cradling me as I cried.
"It'll be alright, I'll make sure you, your mate and everyone in the guild won't get hurt." He told me. I cried deeper into his chest. A feeling of warmth flooded through me, it made me feel happier.

No POV On the other side of the guild
"They look pretty cozy eh?" Natsu smirked looking at Romeo and Wendy.
"He better not hurt her," Gajeel grumbled, cracking his knuckles.
"I don't think he will, at least not again. He's stubborn but he's not dense, unlike a certain dragonslayer I know," Laxus said, eyeing nastu.
"Oi what did I do?" Natsu exclaimed.
"Hahahaha Dense, yeah that's flame brain," Gajeel laughed, clutching his stomach.
"You want something to laugh at?" Natsu growled before aiming a punch at the metal dragonslayer. However his fist never met its target.
"Laxus let go!" The fire dragonslayer grumbled.
"No, now's not the time to fight. We have some preparing to do for dragon mating season." Laxus told the two, they signed in defeat before giving a reluctant nod each.
"I guess, but I'll get you metal head," Natsu told Gajeel who just smirked in return.

"Dragon mating season is coming up yes?"
"Yes"
"You know what to do," he told me.
I just sighed,"is there any other way to do this? You know I don't-"
"YOU WILL DO AS I SAY BOY," he yelled at me.
I flinched before nodding.
"Don't disappoint me," he growled before disappearing into the darkness.
I knew I was going to regret this, but it was the only way I could save her.
