The next day, unfortunately we had to go back to America because it was the finals before spring break. So anyways yeah, we had to go back.

I lugged my baggage to the airport, with my friends already far away from me, sadly I was behind them. Vincent was behind me carrying his suitcase.

"Aren't you going to leave?" I asked.

He laughed gently, "Of course not. I'm coming with you, I can't wait to see America. It's been so long."

"When was the last time you went there." I said as I placed my suitcase on the conveyor belt. He shrugged. "I dunno, a long time ago. I've been living in Paris my whole life."

I nodded and we both went up to the building to pay out terminal fee and get boarding passes. After doing the airport protocol we went to wait for our plane at the gates. There I saw Sadie and Calista fighting over a book.

"Hey, whacha guys up to?" 

Callista let go of the book and smiled, "Well Lyra, Sadie and I here have seen this book, "The Kane Chronicles." at the bookstore downstairs. We've both been reading it and we've both found Anubis attractive. Now Sadie is justifying that Anubis is hers because the main character is Sadie. Isn't that absurd?"

Sadie rolled her eyes,"Seriously, it's true so lay off."

I face palmed and took a seat next to them. After a while of waiting we were called for boarding. I grabbed my hand carry and  headed to the The ride was bumpy and full of turbulence which had annoyed me so much. 

"Hey, Lyra. What are you going to do about Zander? Are you going to tear him to pieces?" Sadie asked.

I turned to open my mouth but was stopped by Callista, "Or are you going to dip him into hot oil?"

Really, were they that sadistic. "Well, I don't know yet, frankly I just though changing myself would make me be able to move on." It was true though, I used to want revenge but now, i'm quite contented with my life, all I needed to do is to get rid of that bitch Kayla and then move on. There is nothing left for me in the past.

I have a good school, supportive parents, a loving brother and friends who care for me, so I really don't need a lot to make me happy anymore. 

Sadie raised her eye brow in disbelief, "Come on Lyra, look at you. You're bad ass and not going lesbo on you here but you're pretty hot. You should use that for you're advantage somehow." 

Wow, that was a weird statement. "First, Sadie. I am not hot. Second, I do not like taking advantage and third, i'm sort of contented with myself right now."

"Yeah, right. So when Zander comes back the memories will just flood back, you cry and go back to square one?" Callista commented, her eyes on a book.

"What do you suggest then?" 

"You have to go on a date. It'll take your mind off things." 

"With who then?"

"I dunno, what about Seth, he seems to like you or my brother, he's pretty cool, if he wasn't a big idiot."

Ok, she wants me to date my friends, hasn't she heard of that, if it doesn't work out we're not friends anymore thing? That's what I told her.

"Well, they care about you, i doubt they'd sacrifice a measly date that gone wrong." Callista replied. "To be honest I think they'd like to hang out with you too."

"We'll see." I closed my eyes for a nap. Soon I was shaken, like crazy, "Lyra, wake up. We're here almost landing." 

My eyes fluttered open and I rubbed the sand from them. "How long have I been asleep?"

"3 hours. You were really exhausted." Vince replied. I probably was.

"Hello everyone, this is your captain speaking. We will be landing at the airport right now. Please fasten your seat belts, stow your trays and get ready for landing." The pilot's voice boomed through the intercom.

We all fixed ourselves and got ready for landing, I pulled my purse next to me and we waited until the plane safely landed. When it did, the stewardess helped us with our hand carry which was stowed away, in the compartment above up. The next place we had to go to was the baggage conveyor belt, where all baggage were being taken.

Vince went to get our baggage as we stayed far away from the crowd. Poor Vince, he came back with all our luggage in his arms. I took mine from him and so did the girls. 

"You ok Vince?" I asked him, as he took a deep breath.

"Yeah, i'm fine. Never better." 

We pulled our suitcases to the arrival's area where of course our friends were waiting.

Caleb, Seth and Ethan were sitting on chairs outside. Caleb was playing with his PSP, Seth was sticking his head into a book again and Ethan was taking a nap.

Callista cleared her throat. She was ignored by all the boys, who didn't even notice us. She did one of the meanest things to her brother. She grabbed him by the ear. "What the fuck, Callista."

"Don't you even greet, your sister on her return." Callista replied.

"Not when she's being melodramatic." He said as he pulled her into a hug. "You look extra pretty today." 

"We had makeovers, you know." She hugged him back 

Ethan hugged Sadie, and she punched him for napping while waiting for her. They argued for a while until he came and gave me a hug. I returned it nicely. "See Sadie, why can't you be as nice as Lyra. I mean she doesn't care if I napped while waiting I mean at least I waited" He told Sadie. "You look really pretty Lyra, you seem more bad ass than you were before."

Seth was next, "Hey Lyra, hows was the flight?" He asked. "It was bumpy but it was ok. I brought you a danish." I replied pulling out a bag of danishes which Vince convinced me to buy. "Here it is." I took one out and gave it to him.

Seth took it and took a bit, "It actually tastes good." 

"It better, some one had to force me to buy it." 

"Well who ever it was has good taste, you see."

Last but not the least was Caleb. "Hey kid. You doing good?" He asked. "Yup, I feel much better." 

"I'm so sorry for not being there for you. Anyways, you've missed a lot of stuff in school. Plus Seth had to do most of your homework." He laughed.

"Wow, I did miss a lot. I'm looking forward for the next semester. I'm sure i'll be able to make up for myself."

He gave me a firm hug which I gladly accepted. "That's good to hear."

"Hey don't I get a hug?" Ethan asked. "No dude, you don't get a hug."Seth replied as he joined our hug.

"Wait don't forget me." Sadie said awkwardly jumping in the middle with Callista following her. 

"Thanks guys you guys really made me happy. Even though this sounds cliche' you guys are the world to me."

"Aw, how sweet." Ethan said holding his arms out for a hug.

"How about no." Sadie replied rolling her eyes and making us laugh.

*Two months later.

I was running down the track with Caleb as my "exercise" since he called me fat. "Hey Lyra, run faster. You're a snail at this level." He said as he ran effortlessly down the track.

I was out of breath. "Seriously Caleb, you show off. I'm not really that fit you know."

"That's why you're fat." Caleb teased as he slowed down and started walking me with my pace.
