02. Some People Just Want To Watch The World Burn

Alec sat infront of Emma, the guidance counselor for the Salvatore Boarding School.

"Do you know that Shakespeare quote?" Alec asked Emma, "The one that says that no legacy is so rich as honesty, I wonder if the old man would write the same quote after seeing the state of our world, I mean I know they are people out there who lead with truth, take my siblings and friends as a perfect example, but then there's also people who lie and lie and lie, and no matter what, their lies just don't end".

"I see you've decided to double down on your nihilism this morning" Emma said.

"You're the one who said I have to be honest in here" Alec reminded.

"Start from the beginning" Emma insisted.

"You're going to have to be more specific because there's a lot of beginnings I can start from" Alec said.

"Of your decision to perform black magic on school grounds last night" Emma clarified.

Alec let out an annoyed sigh, Alec, Asher and Jayden knew the moment they did black magic, they would get caught, so they had to play thumb war to decide who takes the blame for this, and unfortunately Alec lost.

"And this can't wait till we catch the guy who broke my sister and Hope's trust?" Alec asked, "Because if you have forgotten, then let me remind you Emma, Landon Kirby knows all about us and our little school of supernatural beings, the longer he's out there, the more likely it is that he tells someone about us, now this school might not mean a whole to you but it means the world to me, this school was my mom's dream and I will be damned if I let a useless being like Landon ruin it".

"You know there's a beacon that alerts me when someone's using" Emma reminded.

"Of course I know, my sister is the one who set that beacon up for you" Alec snapped.

"You knew you would be caught" Emma realised.

"Yes I did and frankly, I don't really care" Alec stated.

"Did anyone help you with the spell?" Emma asked.

"I come from the most powerful magic bloodline" Alec reminded, "Do you really think I need help to perform black magic? Now is that all? Can I leave?".

"Alec, you're a student" Emma said.

Alec rolled his eyes, "So I'm aware" he mumbled.

"This isn't your fight" Emma said.

Alec glared at Emma, "There is a handful of people I care about in this world, Hope and Mia are part of that handful, Landon Kirby hurt them, hell he even betrayed my brother, who opened up to him thinking he was nothing but a stupid human, so yes Emma, this is absolutely my fight".

A furious Alec stood up and proceeded to walk towards the door but Emma's next words made him stop in his step, "And what happens when you do find Landon Kirby?".

Alec smirked, "The same thing that my father, Damon Salvatore would have done to his enemies" he said, before walking out the office, leaving behind an uneasy Emma.

After leaving Emma's office, Alec met up with Nova.

"Did you get it?" Alec asked the St. John girl.

"This is a bad idea, Alec" a skeptical Nova stated.

"Nova, I didn't call you here to ask your opinion about my plan" Alec snapped, "Did you or did you not get that spell from Hope's grimoire".

"It's not Hope's grimoire, it's her grandmothers" Nova mumbled, before taking out a folded piece of paper from her back pocket, "And I got it".

"Great" Alec said, grabbing the paper and trying to take it from Nova, but Nova refused to let it go, "Nova, let go".

"Alec, this is a death spell" Nova whispered, "This won't just hurt Landon, it will kill him".

"Exactly what I want" Alec stated.

Nova sighed, "We're supernatural beings Alec, but that doesn't automatically make us murders".

Alec glared at Nova, "Don't lecture me Nova, save that for my brother who actually gives a damn about what you say".

Alec snatched the paper from Nova's hand and walked away, leaving Nova standing there, shaking her head while she watched his retreating figure, really hoping Alec doesn't use that spell on Landon, she didn't want him to have anyone's blood on his hands.

After grabbing the spell from Nova, Alec met up with his brother and together they made their way outside towards Alaric's car, Jayden decided to stay behind to keep an eye on the girls as there was a match today happening between the Salvatore Stallions and Mystic Falls High.

"What in the world" Asher whispered, seeing someone under their car.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Alec called out.

"Adjusting the sway bar" Rafael replied, still underneath the car.

"The sway bar wasn't broken"  a confused Asher said.

"It is now" Rafael informed, crawling out and revealing to the brothers the broken sway bar, "You two are going after Landon, if you want this car to work, I'm going with you".

"How about, no" Alec retorted, "Your brother is on my hitlist today, he not only lied to my sister but he stole an ancient artifact from the school".

"He took a stupid knife" Rafael snapped.

"Hey, watch the way you talk to my brother" Asher warned, "And just for your information, no artifact in this school is stupid, they are all extremely dangerous".

"Look, he's my best friend" Rafael said, "And you two? You guys seem vengeful".

"That's just our resting face" Alec said.

"Close your eyes" Asher said.

"Excuse me?" a confused Rafael asked.

"Just close your eyes" Asher demanded, "Let me show you the reality of your so called best friend".

While a confused Rafael closed his eyes, Asher stepped forward and put his hands on either side of Rafael's head, he started chanting and after a moment, everything the boys saw last night and the bodies Alaric and Asher discovered, were flashing infront of Rafael's eyes.

"What the hell was that?" a shocked Rafael asked, after Asher had stopped his spell.

"That was what your best friend did to a bus full of innocent people" Asher informed, "Me and brother are the only ones who can find him, so hand over the sway bar so we can make sure no other innocent person gets hurt because of Landon Kirby".

"No" Rafael protested.

"We have magic" Alec snapped.

"And I have a long history of anger issues" Rafael retorted.

Alec glared at Rafael and stook a step towards him, a dangerous glint appearing in his eyes, "You think you're the only one with anger issues here?".

"He can come" Alaric said, stopping Alec and Rafael's fight before it could even begin.

"Excuse me?" Asher asked.

"He knows Landon, he'll be an asset" Alaric stated, "And we need all the help we can get, so fix the car and hop in, and put a shirt on".

"Unbelievable" an annoyed Alec whispered.

"You have a stupid best friend" Alec told Rafael as the group walked in the woods, "Despite having a whole day's lead on us, he's hiding out in these stupid woods".

"Maybe cause he doesn't have a reason to run" Rafael defended.

Asher scoffed, "Are we forgetting the fact that he ran from the school?".

"Wait, shh!" Alaric told the three boys, hearing a twig snapping, "You hear that?", Asher and Alec waited a moment, and the next they were on alert mode as they heard someone's footsteps, "Someone's here", Alaric quickly followed the footsteps and rushed to see who it was, only to come face to face with a woman that had ash all over her face, "It's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you, were you on the bus?" he asked, as Alec, Asher and Rafael also showed up, "Can you tell us what happened?".

"She survived that bus?" a slightly skeptical Alec asked.

"Smells like it, she reeks of smoke" Rafael informed.

"I think she's in shock" Alaric observed, "Look, I need to get her to the police so she can get some medical attention, why don't you three go ahead? Don't engage, we don't know how dangerous Landon is".

"He's not dangerous" Rafael protested.

"I said don't engage" Alaric repeated firmly.

Asher and Alec looked at each other, both knowing what the other was thinking, they were definitely going to engage.

Mia sat on the bleachers, all dressed up in her Stallions jersey.

"Ready?" Hope asked, walking over to her best friend.

"Ready to lose" a dejected Mia whispered.

"We lose every year, Mia" Nova reminded, standing on the other side of her best friend.

"And every year it sucks just as bad" Mia said.

"That's because of the Salvatore competitiveness in you" Nova teased.

"You have the Mikaelson competitiveness in you" Mia retorted.

"Yeah but I also have the St. John calmness in me" Nova stated, "It balances the competitiveness".

"Yeah I have both Forbes and Mikaelson's desire to win" Hope said, "That's why I don't play these games".

"Lucky you" Mia mumbled.

"Hey, you're gonna be fine, lose this and then us three will have a game night to feed your inner competitor" Hope promised.

"Swear?" Mia asked.

"Cross my heart and hope to die" Hope said.

"But you can't die" Nova pointed out.

"It's the feelings that count not the words" Hope defended, making her best friends laugh.

"Mia, Nova, it's time!" Dorian called out.

Mia sighed, "Let's go Nova, another year of humiliation waits us".

Mia and Nova linked their hands together and walked over to their team.

"So" Jayden said, sitting next to his sister on the bleachers, "Whose going to snap this year?".

"Nova" Hope replied, "It's always Nova".

Jayden chuckled, "Yes it is".

"Alright, guys, let's have a good, clean, entirely uneventful game" Dorian said, addressing the two teams.

"Like we do every year when we beat your asses down" one of the boys from Mystic Falls High said.

"Not exactly the spirt, Kyle" Dorian warned.

"Oh?" Kyle teased.

"I wonder if he would say that if he knew that some of us eat people like him for dinner" Hope whispered to her brother.

"Alright, call in the air" Dorian said, as the referee tossed the coin in the air.

 "Tails never fails".

Everyone looked down and realised the coin had flipped to tails, "Guess not, your ball" Dorian told Mystic High's team, "Shake hands and let's do this".

Kaleb, one of the vampires studying in the boarding house, stepped forward to shake hands with Kyle, but instead of shaking Kaleb's hand, Kyle simply bumped him and walked away, leaving a furious Kaleb to glare at him.

"Kaleb, relax" Nova warned, seeing the murderous look on the vampire's face, "We go through this every year".

"I was being recruited by D1 schools before I got here, alright?" Kaleb bragged, "I don't lose".

"Suck it up, cause you do lose today" Nova stated.

"It always amazes how in the beginning Nova motivates everyone to lose, but by the end she's the one who tries to win the most" Jayden told Hope, making her laugh.

"Hey" Mia greeted, walking over to one of the girls, "Just wanted to wish you good luck out there".

"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity".

"Did you get that from a poster at the dentist?" a genuinely curious Mia asked.

"Oh, my dad's a dentist, but he still made time to be here, where's yours? Oh that's right, he's dead".

"That little bitch!" Hope yelled, hearing what the girl said and seeing Mia's hurt face, "Why isn't Mia saying something to her?!".

"Because she's Mia" Jayden said, watching as Mia stopped Nova from attacking the girl.

"What exactly happened on that bus?" a curious Rafael asked the brothers as they walked through the woods.

"We don't know" Alec informed, "But from the looks of it, your best friend incinerated it from the inside".

"Look, whatever he did, I know there's a good explanation" Rafael defended, "He's the most loyal friend that I've ever had, he was there for me on the worst day of my life, after my girlfriend died, he's the only thing that kept me going, so let me get that knife back for you guys and then we all can hear him out, okay?".

"Here's another suggestion" Asher said, "Use all this passion you have to make better friends".

"So I can be as popular and well liked as you two?" Rafael asked, making the brothers look at him, "Yeah, I've been at the school for two days and I've already heard all about Asher and Alec Salvatore and their sunny disposition".

"Don't" Alec warned, "You don't know us, so don't pretend that you do".

"Same goes for Landon" Rafael retorted, "You don't know him but I do, I'll get that stupid, not stupid knife and the answers you want, I promise".

"Give us one reason as to why we should believe you" Asher said.

"Because I don't lie" Rafael said.

"You just lied right not" Alec said, "Because everyone lies in their lifetime".

Asher let out an annoyed sigh, "Your so great of a best friend is in the root cellar" he informed, "I'll give you three minutes to talk to him".

"Wait, the headmaster said don't engage" Rafael reminded.

"If you don't engage, we will" Alec warned, "And that will be extremely painful for your friend".

Realising the brothers were being dead serious, Rafael quickly rushed towards the root cellar to talk to Landon.

Rafael rushed into the root cellar.

"Raf?" a relieved Landon called out, standing up from his spot on the ground and rushing over to his foster brother and hugging him, "Holy hell, how did you find me?".

"There's a lot of crazy witchy people looking for you" Rafael informed after breaking the hug, "There's a bus full of burned-up people".

"That wasn't me" Landon quickly said.

"Then who the hell was it?" Alec asked, as he and Asher also walked into the cellar.

"You guys said three minutes" an annoyed Rafael reminded.

"We also never said that we don't lie" Asher said, standing back and letting his brother deal with Landon.

"Corporis impetu" Alec chanted, extending his hand out and with his magic sticking Landon to the wall.

"Hey!" Rafael protested.

"Now, be a good boy and tell us where that knife is" Alec said, ignoring Rafael.

"I don't have it, I must've lost it when I ran" Landon said.

"Ran from burning the bus?" Asher asked.

"That wasn't me, I swear" Landon defended, "I barely got out alive".

"Alec, Asher, come on" Rafael pleaded.

"I'm giving you one last chance" Alec warned, walking closer to Landon, his magic still in place, "Tell the truth, what did you do?!".

"There was this girl" Landon finally revealed.

Asher looked at Landon, "What girl?" he asked.

"Remember what we planned, Kaleb" Nova said, placing the football infront of the vampire.

"Girl, I used to eat town scrubs like this for lunch" Kaleb complained, "That's before I was a vampire".

As the referee blew the whistle, Kaleb kicked the ball and the ball landed straight in Kyle's hands and after a moment, the Timberwolves easily scored.

"Great moves, Dana" Nova taunted.

"I know I'm supposed to do this in the end zone, but--", Dana slammed the ball on Nova's feet, and Nova being Nova, instead of taking it, placed her feet infront of Dana causing the human girl to trip and fall to the ground.

"Opps, better watch where you're stepping Dana, wouldn't want you to injure yourself" Nova taunted, before walking away from the furious human.

"What was that?" Mia asked, rushing over to Nova.

"The bitch is lucky that I didn't burn her fake boobs for what she said to you" Nova snapped.

Mia sighed, "Look, I hate this as much as you but it's what Ric wants and we kind of have to do what he says".

"But Uncle Kol did say that there's no harm in sometimes going against him" Nova reminded.

"If we go against Ric, all we will be getting is a detention" Mia retorted.

Nova let out an annoyed groan, "This sucks".

"I know" Mia said, putting her arm around her best friend, "Come on, we have more to lose".

"Ugh!" a furious Nova yelled, but nonetheless let Mia drag her.

"Alright, I just want to take a minute to let you know how proud I am" Lizzie said, addressing the team in the huddle, "You're all doing a great job".

"We're getting our asses kicked" Kaleb snapped.

"Which means we're doing a great job" Josie said.

"What's the play?" MG asked, joining the team huddle.

"The same play we've had every single year" Nova snapped, getting more annoyed as time went on.

"Which is run around, make it look like you know what you're doing, then fail, on three" Lizzie said, everyone clapped once and rushed off to their positions.

"White 80!" Lizzie yelled as the referee blew his whistle, and Josie placed the ball between her legs, "White 80, set, hut", Josie passed the ball to Lizzie.

"One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi" Dana counted.

"Lizzie, over here!" Mia yelled.

Lizzie looked around and realised both MG and Mia were free but using her hesitation to her advantage, Dana ended up tackling Lizzie to the ground causing the ball to fly up in the air, MG caught the ball and scored a point, making the other four girls exchange confused looks between them, wondering since when were they scoring.

"Oh this is going to be good" Jayden mumbled.

"Yeah, let me tell you this right now, whatever just came out of your mouth, I don't believe even for a second" Alec told Landon.

"You have every right to be mad at me, but I am telling you the truth" Landon said, sitting down on the ground, he looked at his best friend, "Come on man, help me".

Rafael, who was kneeling by his best friend, looked towards the brothers, "I believe him".

"Are you insane?" Asher asked, "You actually believe that a fire breathing woman burned all those people in the bus?".

"Yeah" Rafael confirmed, standing up.

"And your best friend happened to be the only who escaped?" Alec asked.

"He told you that he ran" Rafael reminded.

"And just so conveniently lost the knife" Asher snapped.

"Yes" Rafael stated.

"She kept coming at me like she was gonna take it from me" Landon informed, "She was burning everything in her path".

"Fine, let's say that this fire breathing woman exists, now explain to me why you stole the damn knife in the first place?!" a furious Alec asked.

"I don't remember stealing it" Landon revealed.

"Oh and it just keeps on going" Asher mumbled, "You don't remember stealing it, but you do remember pretending to be compelled, don't you? Or is that another thing you erased from your brain?!".

"That was to avoid being thrown back in the werewolf dungeon" Landon defended, standing up from the floor.

"It's a transitional cellar" Alec snapped.

"Small spaces" Landon snapped back, "Alec, you have to understand, Dr Saltzman had already told me the school wasn't gonna let me stay, if he thought I'd talk, he'd lock me back up, there wasn't a good ending for me, I didn't want to steal from you and I don't want a fire breather chasing me, I'm sorry for all of it".

"He's not lying, I know him" Rafael told the brothers, "Now, if he says that there's a fire breathing woman running through the woods, then there is a--".

A panicked Alaric rushed into the root cellar, "There's a fire breathing woman running through the woods" he informed, making Alec and Asher exchange shocked looks between them, "Did I or did I not say, don't engage?".

"You say a lot of things Ric, you can't expect us to remember it all" Asher defended.

Alaric shook his head at Asher, "Now, our bus refugee, turns out she's a pyromancer".

"Wait, what's a pyromancer?" a confused Landon asked.

"She's a witch that breathes fire" a fascinated Alec informed, "Awesome!".

Asher hit the back of his brother's head before turning to his headmaster, "She's here for the knife".

"Okay, well, where is it?" Alaric asked.

Everyone turned to Landon, "I lost it in the woods" Landon informed, "I was running around in circles all night trying to find a place to hide".

"Okay, well, let's find it before she does" Alaric said.

Once Alaric, Landon and Rafael had rushed out the cellar, Alec turned to his brother.

"He's lying" Alec said, "He has the knife, and he's going to get us all killed".

"Not if we get the knife from him" Asher said.

"How?" Alec asked.

"By ripping his heart out" Asher replied, before following the group.

"And moments like this remind me that we're brothers" Alec mumbled, before rushing after his brother.

As soon as Alec and Asher came out of the cellar, they realised their path was blocked by the pyromancer.

"We don't want any trouble" Alaric told the lady, who in return held her hand out and looked at Landon, confirming both Asher and Alec's suspicion.

"What does she want?" a confused Rafael asked.

"I don't know" Landon replied.

The lady once again forwarded her hand towards Landon, "Lan?" a confused Rafael said.

"Something tells me she wants the knife that you seem to not have anymore" Asher said, glaring at Landon, as the woman's eyes glowed orange.

"Back in the cellar, go!" Alaric demanded, as the group quickly rushed back into the cellar to avoid being burned alive, "Go, go, go, go!

"Where the hell is that knife, Landon?!" a furious Alec asked Landon.

"I'm sorry, I panicked" Landon said, taking the knife out of his jacket pocket and handing it over to Alec.

"What the hell, Lan?" Rafael asked, hurt that his best friend lied to him.

"Alec, Ash, the doors" Alaric said.

"Got it" Asher and Alec said, before walking over to the doors and chanting, "Adiuuatur".

After extinguishing the fire on the door, Asher turned to Alaric, "This isn't going to last very long" he warned.

"Alright, great, I need a cellphone" a panicked Alaric said.

"Take your pick" Landon said, pointing towards a barrel full of stolen goods.

"What the hell is all this?" a confused Alec asked, as he and Rafael looked into the barrel.

"It's from the people on the bus" Rafael realised, as he grabbed a man's license.

"I didn't bring it here, I--".

"Say I swear one more time and I will rip your spleen out" Asher threatened Landon, immediately causing him to stop talking.

"Set! Hut!", Josie threw the ball towards Lizzie.

"Blitz!" Dana yelled, rushing towards Lizzie, who quickly threw the ball in Mia's direction, who instead of catching it, simply tapped it away from her, Dana chuckled before turning to Nova who passing by her, "Your best friend sucks at football, her brothers should've absorbed her in the womb".

Nova glared at Dana, "Listen you here you, little bitch!".

"Oh no" Hope whispered, seeing Nova's angry look.

"Oh, yes" an excited Jayden whispered, he was waiting for Nova to explode on Dana, everyone knew it was just a matter of time.

"Are you seriously this insecure?" Nova asked, "For years you've picked on Mia, whose never said a word to you, is it because you know that she is so much better then your annoying, insecure little skank ass, say one more word against her and I swear I will break that fake nose of yours, that daddy paid so money much for".

"You--".

"Shh!" Nova held her hand up, stopping Dana's outburst, "I'm sorry, low lifes aren't allowed to talk to me".

"Go Nova!" Jayden yelled, as him and Hope heard everything.

"That's my best friend!" Hope yelled.

Mia rushed over to Hope and Jayden, "Stop encouraging her madness" she snapped, before rushing over to Nova, "Come on Nova, it's time for a team meeting", Mia quickly dragged Nova away from Dana before she ended up punching her or something.

"People, we have a new plan" Nova stated, as her and Mia walked over to the team huddle, "No more playing nice guys, we're burning these little humans to the bloody ground".

"Absolutely not" Mia protested, knowing Alaric isn't going to be happy with this.

"We're gonna give these townies a taste of what we're really made of" Lizzie added, completely on board with Nova's plan.

"You can count on my steel" MG told Lizzie, putting his hand on top of hers.

"Ew, gross" a disgusted Lizzie said.

"Let's go this" Nova said, putting her hand into the pile.

"Hey, I'm with you two, all the way" Kaleb said, adding his hand to the pile.

One by one everyone put their hand in, all except Mia and Josie.

"Come on Jo, you're ruining an epic moment here" Lizzie said.

"Come on Mia, we need to teach Dana a lesson" Nova said.

"Alaric is going to kill us" Mia retorted.

"Alaric isn't here, so he gets no say in this" Nova stated, "Now get on board Mia, for me".

"Oh you can't use the for me card" Mia protested.

"Well, I just did" Nova said, a smug look on her face, knowing now there was no way that Mia would resist.

"Ugh, fine, let's do this" Mia said, finally putting her hand into the pile and after a moment of hesitation, Josie also followed.

"Take some of my magic" Nova instructed Mia, grabbing her other hand, Mia let out a sigh but nonetheless, siphoned some magic.

"Did Mia just siphon off of Nova?" a shocked Hope asked her brother, having seen Mia and Nova's glowing hands.

"Yes she did" an excited Jayden confirmed, "Things are about to get interesting, finally".

Hope and Jayden watched as Josie threw the ball to Lizzie, who then threw it to MG, who very easily scored a touchdown after compelling the guy after him to trip on his own feet. The next round, Kyle threw the ball at Dana who started running forward, but Nova used her magic to get Dana to drop the ball, Kaleb quickly picked the ball up and after jumping over Kyle, proceeded to score.

"Wooo!" Hope and Jayden, standing up from their seats and jumping up and down, both excited that finally they will win a game.

"Please tell me you have something" Alaric told Dorian, on the phone with him.

"Connection sucks, where are you?" a curious Dorian asked, while in the library researching.

"We're in a stupid root cellar that's full of stolen items from the bus that our personal thief Landon Kirby claims he didn't steal" an annoyed Alec informed.

"There's a fire breather outside, can your prioritize your rage?" Rafael asked Alec.

"No!" Alec snapped.

"Okay, then" Rafael said, "Geez".

"Dragon" Dorian suddenly said.

"What?" Alaric asked.

"Dragon" Dorian repeated, "She steals treasure, breathes fire, hides the loot in her lair, she's not a pyromancer, she's a--".

"Dragons don't exist, or look like normal people" Alaric interrupted, refusing to believe they were dealing with a dragon.

"There was a time we would have said that about vampires" Dorian pointed out.

Alaric scoffed, "Okay fine, she's a human dragon, now what?".

"In anything I've ever read--".

"In fiction" Alaric interrupted.

"The way to take down a dragon, you need a buttload of courage and a sword" Dorian continued.

Alaric looked towards the brothers, "Would a knife be enough?" Asher asked, looking at the knife in his brother's hand.

Together, Alec and Asher jumped out the root cellar, using his magic Asher pushed the fire breathing woman on to the ground.

"You shouldn't be spreading your smoke around" Asher said, "It's ruining our already ruined environment".

The woman growled in anger, she stood up and with her eyes glowing yellow, started walking towards the brothers.

"Don't worry, I don't care much about this environment either" Alec said, making Asher shake his head, "I mean it's not like I live here".

The woman breathed her fire towards the brothers, "Scutum!" the two yelled, building an invisible barrier that caused the fire to go upwards instead of towards them, the more the brothers held the fire away from the hotter it got, the fire suddenly stopped when Rafael threw a rock at the woman's head.

"About freaking time!" Alec snapped.

"Sorry, I couldn't find a rock" Rafael informed.

"You were in a lair that was fully of heavy objects" Asher said, looking at Rafael, wondering if his mind was okay.

"Forget all this" Alec said, handing the knife over to his brother, "Alley-oop".

Asher nodded his head, Alec ran towards the woman, he jumped up on a box, just as Asher threw the knife towards him, while he was in the air, Alec caught the knife and while coming down, stabbed the woman in the chest.

"Let's go!" an excited Kaleb said, as he walked with MG, "And there's more where that came from".

"Not if she's got anything to say about it" MG said, looking at the serious look on Josie's face.

Josie walked over to her sister and grabbed the whiteboard off of her, "What are you doing?" a confused Lizzie asked.

"I'm calling an audible of my own" Josie stated, writing something on the board, once she was finished, she turned it around to showed the group, Lose.

"Seriously?" an annoyed Hope asked, walking over to the group with her brother.

"I'm dead serious" Josie stated, "And you should too, dad told us to lose today for a reason".

"Your dad isn't here" Jayden reminded, putting his arm around Mia, "So his rules don't count today".

"Yeah, no one would be here if it weren't for him" Josie reminded, "My dad built this school for supernaturals like us, so if we win by flaunting all the things that make us different we're gonna lose a lot more than a stupid game, we'll lose everything".

"Except, your dad didn't built this school, Josie" Nova snapped, "You know, I'm getting really tired of you Saltzman claiming this school is yours, when in reality, your dad just works here, this school was built by the triplets dad, Kol, my parents, Rebekah and Enzo, and Hope and Jayden's parents, Klaus and Caroline, and that to in tribute to Damon and Aria, hell none of our parents agree with Alaric's method, and if they weren't dealing with those coven of witches in New Orleans, they would be here, putting your dad in his place!".

"Okay, Nova, calm down" Mia said, holding Nova's arm.

"If it weren't for our dad, this school wouldn't be functioning" Lizzie snapped.

"This school would be function fine without your dad" Hope snapped, "Hell I think it would be a whole lot better".

"Okay, guys, enough!" Mia yelled, making everyone look at her, not used to hearing her yell, "Look, putting our personal feelings aside, to an extent Josie is right, we are supernatural beings, it's not right for us to use our powers against a game against humans".

"But--".

"But" Mia interrupted Nova, "I also agree that we can't lose another game to these people, so here's another suggestions, we win, fair and square, we win, without using our powers".

"Yeah, but we're legitimately terrible" Josie reminded.

"No, we used to be terrible, but Kaleb's new this year" Lizzie said.

"And Mia and Nova actually know how to play" Jayden added, "They play every holidays with Dad, Uncle Kol and Uncle Enzo, the legit way, no magic involved".

"Technically the only people legitimately bad on our teams is you two" Nova told Lizzie and Josie.

"Nova" Mia warned, making Nova put her hands up in surrender, Mia looked towards her team, "So, fair and square?", everyone laughed and nodded their heads in agreement.

Alec kneeled down and pulled the knife out of the woman's chest, just as Landon and Alaric rushed out the cellar.

"You three alright?" a concerned Alaric asked, he looked at the dead woman, "Let's give her a proper burial, see if you can find a shovel".

"Yeah, I don't bury people, though Uncle Kai did teach me a spell to burn people, want me to try it?" Alec asked.

"Alec" Alaric warned.

"God, you really need to stop using that tone on me, it doesn't work, I'm not Lizzie and Josie" Alec said.

"It worked on your mom" Alaric retorted.

Alec glared at Alaric for mention his mom, while with a blank look on his face, Asher started walking forward, "Let's keep my mom in the do not discuss pile" Alec warned, following after his brother towards the root cellar, along with Landon and Rafael.

Alaric opened his mouth to say something to the brothers, but before he could, his phone started buzzing, "Dorian" he greeted.

"Found it" Dorian informed, "The soft spot, that's how you kill it".

"Knife in the heart did the trick" Alaric informed.

"Huh, okay, so much for research" Dorian said.

"What are you reading, game of thrones?" Alaric asked, still refusing to believe they were dealing with a dragon.

"Puff, the magic dragon" Dorian clarified.

"Look, this doesn't make any sense, it has got to be something else" Alaric stated, but he froze when he heard someone growling, slowly turning around, Alaric was shocked seeing the woman turned into an actual dragon, "Nope, it's a dragon, alright, I've got to call you back".

Asher, Alec, Rafael and Landon walked out the root cellar, with Landon and Rafael carrying the shovels.

"Holy mother of" a shocked Alec whispered, seeing an actual dragon infront of him.

"That isn't an pyromancer" Asher realised, as the dragon flew away.

"Really?" Alec asked his brother, "What gave that away, brother?".

"Was that a--".

"Shut up Landon, not now" Alec snapped, "All of you, get in the car and leave, I've got this".

"I'm not leaving you alone" Asher protested.

"Ash please" Alec said, "Whenever you have an idea, I always back you, so I need you to back me here".

"First tell me your idea" Asher demanded.

Alec pulled out the knife from his jacket pocket, "She's here for this, and she's going to keep coming back for it, we don't have time for me to tell you my plan".

Alaric sighed, he looked at Rafael and Landon, "Alright, you two, go to the car, I'll meet you there, go, go", Alaric looked at Alec, "You wake up with a death wish today?".

"I'm a Salvatore" Alec reminded, "Death naturally follows me everywhere".

Lizzie joined the team huddle, "Okay, guys, last play of the game, it's hail mary time, everyone but Josie, go long".

"Wait, what do I do?" a confused Josie asked.

"No offense Jo, no matter what you do, I don't think anyone's throwing you the ball" Nova replied.

"Lizzie, look my way, I'll catch it" MG promised.

"Probably caught something from Penelope Park, too" Lizzie taunted.

"Knock it off" Kaleb snapped, "Look, we score, and those clowns can't say crap to us for an entire year, y'all feel me?".

"For once, Kaleb is right" Mia said, "Let's win this and show these Timberwolves, that we aren't losers".

"Break!" Nova yelled, everyone clapped and went there separate way, before going to her position, Nova jogged over to Mia, "Keep an eye on Josie for me, I don't trust her not to do something to make sure we do what her dad wants".

Mia nodded her head in understanding, "Got it".

Once Mia got into position Dana walked over to her, "I'm going to eat you alive".

Mia smiled at Dana, "You can try" she challenged, a determined look on her face, she kneeled down and whispered to herself, "Come on Mia, honor this school, honor mom and dad".

"Set! Hut!".

Josie threw the ball towards Lizzie, who once again hesitated to pass, in the process Dana came closer and closer to but before she could tackle Lizzie, Nova tackled Dana, and Lizzie threw the ball towards Kaleb, Mia watched with a huge smile as Kaleb rushed towards the ball, but her smile changed when she saw the look on Josie's face, just as Josie opened her mouth to say something, Mia casted a spell of her own, her spell temporarily glued Josie's lips together, and just as Kaleb scored the final touch down and made them winners, Mia released her spell on Josie, who in turn glared at her, knowing she did this.

Mia shrugged, "Sorry Jo, we're playing fair and square, no magic allowed, not even on your teammates".

"My dad is going to be so disappointed!" Josie stated.

"Your dad needs to learn that just cause we're supernatural creatures, doesn't mean we lose every game to hide our identity" Hope said, walking over to Mia.

"We can win without using our powers" Nova stated, walking on the other side of Mia.

"Fair and square" Mia added.

A furious Josie shook her head and walked away from the trio, an excited Nova turned to her best friends, "You guys, we did it!".

"Group hug!" Hope yelled, putting her best friends into a hug.

Jayden, who stood on the sidelines, smiled at the scene, he took his phone out and took a picture of the trio and sent it to the family group chat, knowing everyone will be extremely happy after knowing that the Salvatore Stallions finally won a game.

"Alright, it's coming back, now what?" Alaric asked Alec.

"Take cover" Alec told Alaric.

"Like hell" Alaric protested.

Alec looked at Asher and gestured towards Alaric, he knew his brother was good at convincing people to do things.

"If you don't take cover, and that thing actually burns you, please tell me the appropriate way to tell your daughters that they have officially lost both their biological parents" Asher said.

"The dad card?" an annoyed Alaric asked, "That's a low blow".

"Alaric, go!" Alec yelled, after a little bit of hesitation Alaric ran to take cover in the root cellar.

Asher turned to his brother, "So, what dark magic are you using today?" he asked, knowing his brother too well, in response, Alec pulled out a paper from his jean pocket and showed Asher, who after reading it, looked at Alec, "You were planning on killing Landon?".

"Yeap" Alec confirmed, "And now I'm going to kill this dragon".

"Do you need help?" Asher asked.

Alec shook his head, "I've got this".

Asher nodded his head and took a step back, letting his brother take over, but staying in case he needed a back up.

Alec held the knife up and started chanting the spell that was on the paper, "Tenebris anima vestra contundito mortem, et conteret spiritum, frange vitam, nolite corde, ut sub terra esse, ad tenebras usque in sempiternum", the dragon got closer to where the brothers were standing, immediately Asher put his hands out, all ready to interfere if needed, "Tenebris anima vestra contundito mortem, et conteret spiritum, frange vitam, nolite corde, ut sub terra esse, ad tenebras usque in sempiternum".

Just as the dragon got closer to him, it suddenly fell to the ground, dead, the impact of his fall, pushing both Alec and Asher on to the ground.

Alec groaned in pain, he sat up and rubbed the back of his neck, he then looked towards his brother who had already stood up and was dusting the grass of his clothes.

Alec then looked towards the dragon, who had now turned back into a woman, grabbing the knife, Alec made his way over to the woman, "Where did you come from?" he asked, but the woman didn't say anything, just held her hand out for the knife, "Okay, what's your obsession with this knife? What's special about it that you want it so badly? Say something, or I swear to god I'll kill you", but the woman stayed quiet, she turned her face, and after a moment she turned her head and tried to burn Alec, but the middle Salvatore quickly stuck the knife in her throat, officially killing her, he then turned towards his brother, "I think I found the soft spot Dorian was talking about".

Alec and Asher kneeled by the dead woman.

"Think she's finally dead?" Alec asked, Asher hit the back of Alec's head, "Ow! What was that for?!".

"For asking stupid questions" Asher said, standing up, "Of course she's dead, look at the state of her".

"We thought she was dead before" Alec pointed out, also standing up.

"Before she didn't look like that" Asher pointed out.

"What is this?!" a furious Alaric asked, walking over to the brothers, the spell Alec used in his hand.

Asher glared at his brother, "You couldn't have grabbed that?".

"Asher, Alec, this isn't earth magic!" Alaric yelled.

"Your stupid earth magic could never defeat a dragon" Alec argued.

"We don't allow black magic" Alaric scolded.

"No!" Alec yelled, glaring at Alaric, "You don't allow black magic, back in New Orleans, we have a whole coven teaching us black magic, teaching us how to be strong, and not weak like you want us to be!".

"Black magic gets inside your heart and it poisons your mind" Alaric stated.

"Not this" Asher said, "This isn't dangerous black magic Alaric, you need to relax".

"I looked the other way this morning cause I knew you two were upset, but this is a death spell" Alaric said, "A spell either of you couldn't have known you need to use on a dragon, which means you had other plans for it, Landon did something stupid, maybe evil, we won't know until we learn more, but he's still just a kid and so are you two, this hatred, this vengeance, this is your father, both of them, it can't be you two, I won't allow it".

Alec glared at Alaric, immense hatred shown in his eyes and anger show on his face, "You won't allow?" he asked, "And who the hell are you to tell us what we can and can do? What makes you think we're going to listen to a human like you?".

"Our dad, Damon, was your best friend, and after his death, this is how you talk about him?" an equally furious Asher asked, "Honestly Alaric, if you didn't have two daughters waiting for you back at the school, your heart would have been ripped out for speaking like that about our fathers, yes Damon Salvatore and Kol Mikaelson have their flaws, but they are our fathers, who love us unconditionally, who we love unconditionally, remember that next time you take their names out of your mouth".

"You might have been mom's family, but you are nothing to me and my siblings" Alec stated, "You abandon us the moment mom and dad died, the only reason we're tolerating is you is cause we promised our godmother, don't test our patience Alaric, cause you will regret it".

Asher and Alec entered Mia, Hope and Nova's shared room, entering it they saw their sister sitting on her bed, while on a video call with their dad.

"Hey, you two are back" a happy Mia said, "I was just telling dad about the Salvatore Stallion's awesome victory today".

"Wait, you won tonight?" a shocked Alec asked, sitting on one side of Mia while Asher sat on the other, "I thought we aren't allowed to win".

"Of course you're allowed to win" Kol exclaimed from the phone, "You should win, you're Salvatores, you're not made to lose".

Asher smiled at his father, "Hey dad".

"Hey buddy" Kol greeted, "How was the secret mission with Ric?".

"Terrible" Alec informed.

Kol frowned, "What happened?" he asked, "Did he do something again?".

Asher and Alec exchanged a small look between, both realising it was better if they kept the argument with Alaric to themselves, if Kol found out, he would lose it and Alaric would definitely die.

"No, he didn't do anything" Asher lied, "We just didn't like the people we were forced to work with".

"You guys don't like anyone except our group" Mia retorted, "Oh dad, did I tell you that I used my magic to superglue Josie's mouth shut".

"I'm sorry what?!" a shocked Alec asked.

And with that the three Salvatore triplets spent the whole night video calling their dad, eventually being joined by the twins and Nova, who were video calling their parents, turning this night into a small family reunion.
