12. There's A Mummy On Main Street

"You want us to go where now?" an annoyed Jayden asked Alaric.

"Maple Hallows, it'll be fun" Alaric insisted, "You just have to convince the others, look you guys were the one who didn't want to go home on spring break".

"We didn't go home because no one is home" Jayden defended, "The adults at the compound are all on some sort of secret mission that involves god knows what, and no offence Ric, I don't think any one of us want to trade our family drama for yours".

"Look Jayden, I need all hands on deck here" Alaric pleaded, "Under the influence of the slug I threw the urn into the waters and we have to find it before it ends up in malivore, I figured six of the most powerful creatures could help me in that".

Jayden let out an annoyed sigh, "You know I can convince the girls, but convincing Asher and Alec is like talking to a brick wall, they're already grumpy that we couldn't go back to New Orleans for spring break, they're not gonna wanna spend their break with you and your daughters Ric, no offense".

"Just get the girls to agree, once they agree Asher and Alec will also agree" Alaric stated.

"That is true" Jayden realised, knowing Asher and Alec will never let Alaric take the girls into a town possibly being attacked by monster without them, "Fine, I'll convince everyone to join your little family road trip, but if we are going to a small town like Maple Hallows, you realise we can't go in the Salvatore bus, right? It will attract too much attention".

"I'm one step ahead of you" Alaric assured.

"This van is horrendous" Jayden stated, sitting in the passenger seat of the nine seater van Alaric had managed to hire for this road trip.

"It's retro" Alaric defended.

"It's a gas-guzzling atrocity on wheels" Lizzie stated, sitting in the aisle behind them with her sister and Nova, Hope and Mia behind them, with Asher and Alec behind them, Emma and Dorian deciding to follow them in another car.

"I can't believe this is how I'm spending my spring break" Alec complained.

"Me too" Asher admitted.

"I brought snacks" Hope announced.

"Pass them over" a hungry Nova demanded, grabbing some snacks from Hope.

"Here you go" Hope said, handing snacks over to her friends and then throwing a packet of chips over to her brother.

"Oh sweet, did you pack them before or after you and your stupid friends decided to FOMO your way onto our trip?" Lizzie taunted.

"You actually think you have a chance of defeating these monsters without us?" Alec asked, glaring at the Saltzman girl.

"I would've thought you lot wanted to spend the break back in New Orleans" Lizzie stated.

"Trust me Lizzie, we are not willingly sitting in this van with you" Asher said.

"We're just trying to protect people" Mia defended.

"Exactly" Nova said, "If you have forgotten then let me remind you Lizzie, there's currently a urn on a river cruise, possibly spreading plagues all across America because I didn't let Alec, Dorian and Alaric kill a unicorn, I'm taking accountability for my actions, maybe you should try that some day".

Alec shook his head hearing Nova, "The urn being on the loose isn't on you" he told Nova, "That one is on Alaric".

"Agreed!" Hope and Jayden said together, making Alaric let out a sigh.

Asher shuddered hearing Hope and Jayden talk together, "I hate that".

"Same" Mia and Alec said.

"And we hate that" Hope said.

"Or maybe you and your friends just wanted to ruin yet another Saltzman spring break" Lizzie told Nova, bringing them back to the argument.

"When have we ever ruined your spring break?" a confused Mia asked.

"Girls? We're gonna be in this classic automobile for six hours, all right?" Alaric warned, "So, no bickering".

"It would help if it wasn't a thousand degrees in here" Hope complained, "I'm burning up".

"You're burning up?" Lizzie asked, "Now, that's ironic".

"You realise half the time you talk you make no sense, right?" Nova told Lizzie.

"Don't play dumb" Lizzie snapped, "I see you, I see right through all three of you".

"We have no idea what you're on about Lizzie" Mia said, "And can we please just play nice, at least for a few minutes?".

"We're done playing nice" Lizzie stated, "I'm getting back to me, I am who I am, right Josie?", but Josie didn't reply to her sister as she had her headphones in and was staring out the window, Lizzie patted her sister's leg, "Josie?".

"Sorry?" Josie asked, taking one earphone out of her ear.

"Josie, you cannot leave me alone with just them for company" Lizzie complained.

"Well, I get carsick if I don't listen to music" Josie reminded, putting her earphone back in.

"Josie!" Lizzie yelled, trying to reach over Nova and snatch the earphones from her sister, immediately causing a screaming match to start between the three girls.

"Girls" Alaric called out, but none of the girls listened to her.

"This is hilarious" an amused Hope whispered to Mia, as the two best friends tried not laugh out loud.

"I hate this" Asher told Alec.

"Same" Alec said, putting his hands over his ears, trying to block out everyone's voices.

"Girls!" Alaric yelled again, this time gaining the three girls attention, "There is no reason to be tense or awkward, okay? Now knock it off, we're gonna get through this together, god help us all".

"Great start to a great road trip" Jayden taunted, making Mia and Hope laugh and Asher and Alec roll their eyes, while Nova leaned forward and slapped the back of Jayden's head, "Ow!".

"Ric, it's boiling in here" Mia complained.

"I'm freezing" Lizzie complained.

"I'm starving" Josie complained.

Alaric let out a sigh before turning the air conditioner on, Lizzie suddenly turned to Nova and punched her arm, "Punch buggy".

"How long do you think before Nova attacks Lizzie?" Asher whispered to his brother.

"No long at all" Alec whispered back.

"Here, Ric actually didn't forget to pack us some sandwiches" Mia said, handing everyone a sandwich.

"Dad, did you only pack meat?" Josie asked.

"I am not eating a sandwich made by Ric" Alec stated, throwing the sandwich back to his sister.

Mia shrugged, "Suit yourself then".

"Punch buggy, no returns" Lizzie said, punching Nova's arm again.

"Next time you punch me I will rip those two little braids off your head, Lizzie!" an annoyed Nova warned, in response Lizzie simply rolled her eyes.

"Ninety nine bottles of beer on the wall, ninety nine bottles of beer" Alaric sang.

"I'm think I'm--", Josie stopped talking instead leaned forward and puked.

"Yuck!" Nova cried, quickly pulling her feet to her chest.

"Oh my god!" a disgusted Lizzie yelled.

"Get it in the bag!" Alaric yelled.

"Oh my god, that stinks, I can't breathe in here!" Jayden complained, quickly opening his window and sticking his head out for fresh air.

Meanwhile in the back, Alec had fallen asleep and Asher was too busy reading his book to care about chaos happening around him, while Mia and Hope kept themselves busy by playing thumb war.

"Are we there yet?" an annoyed Lizzie asked her father.

Suddenly Josie leaned forward and puked more, "Okay, no, I can't take this" Nova stated, quickly taking her seatbelt off, she then crawled over the seats and over to her best friends who were now peacefully sleeping.

"Ow, Nova!" Hope yelled, as Nova landed right on her, her legs hitting Mia.

"I am not sitting in that puke infested seat" Nova stated.

"In the bag, sweetheart" Alaric told a puking Josie.

"Are we there yet?" Lizzie asked again.

"I'm not lost" Alaric told Alec and Asher who were now looking at a map and outside at their surroundings.

"Thirty seven bottles of beer on the wall, thirty seven bottle of beer, you take one down, you pass it around, thirty six bottles of beer on the wall" everyone, minus Alec, Asher and Jayden, sang, very unenthusiastically.

"Keep up guys!" Alaric insisted.

"I'm not going to forgive mom and dad for making me go through this hell" Jayden mumbled to himself.

"My heart wrote a little song for you" Josie sang while playing the ukulele, "So won't you take a little listen and dance with me to the rhythm", Josie bent down to put the ukulele away in the process kicking the back of Jayden's seat.

"Hey!" Jayden snapped, "Can we not do that?!"

"Sorry" Josie whispered.

"Are we there yet?" Lizzie asked, on the verge of crying.

"Yes!" Alaric yelled, finally stopping the car.

"Oh thank god" Mia mumbled, as everyone rushed to get out of the car.

Maple Hallows, SC

"Welcome to Maple Hallows" Jayden said, looking around the very lively town.

"Girls, you take the fountain area" Alaric instructed, the boys going in the opposite direction, "See what you can find out".

"Fun fact, this town has the biggest ball of yarn in the country" Josie informed the other four girls, "And nobody's seen anything strange".

"This isn't exactly a hotspot of activity" Lizzie pointed out, "Our hopes of finding anything are going up in smoke".

"Wait hold on" Mia suddenly said, "This whole time were you passive aggressively talking about the fire that happened in our dorm room, three years ago?".

"You mean the one that you and your two little friends set on purpose to sabotage our spring break with our dad?" Lizzie asked, glaring at the Salvatore girl, "No Mia, why would I talk about that?".

"Dude, you've lost it" Hope stated.

"The only thing that we lost was a week of quality family time" Lizzie snapped, "Dad had to cancel the trip to deal with the damage, so mission accomplished".

"You guys are just talking about ancient history" Josie said, trying to be the peacemaker, "Ow!" she suddenly yelled, slapping her wrist when she felt something bite her, "Something stung me" she said, rolling her sleeve up.

"Yuck" Nova commented, seeing the huge bubble forming on Josie's arm.

"Gross" Lizzie added.

While the five girls were looking down at Josie's bite, their attention suddenly went towards the sky when they heard a buzzing sound, looking up, they were shocked seeing a swarm of hornets coming towards them.

"That is definitely a sign of some kind of plague" Mia commented.

"Definitely a plague" Nova agreed, as people around them started screaming and running.

"Yeap" Hope whispered.

The five girls came out of a building after all the hornets were dead, "We need to find the boys" Mia said, stepping on the the dead hornets, "Come on, let's go this way".

"Does this way take us past the fire station?" Lizzie taunted.

"Oh my god, we barely just survived a biblical plague" Hope snapped at Lizzie, "For the last time, neither of us started that fire, and we've never ruined a spring break".

"Yeah Lizzie, now's not the time" Josie warned her sister.

"Fifth grade" Lizzie said, ignoring her sister's warning, "Nova callously gave me the flu while we were building our float for witch week, with global warming, I may never see the Florida Keys, that's on you three".

"Are you that stupid?" Nova asked, "None of us get sick, we built that float with Alyssa Chang, she was the who had pneumonia over spring break, that flu wasn't me and none of us lit that fire either".

"Um, hey" Josie called out, but none of the girls heard her, they were too busy arguing among them.

"Why did I see you three giving me and Josie a death glare through the window?" Lizzie asked.

"There's boil on my boil" Josie informed.

"Oh, god!" a disgusted Lizzie said as the girls finally looked at Josie's arm.

"That's really gross" Mia commented.

"I think I'm gonna be sick again" a disgusted Josie admitted.

"Pick up the pace Salvatore, Mikaelson and St.John" Lizzie said, clicking her fingers, "My sister needs--", Lizzie stopped talking when the girls turned the corner and saw people in hazmat suits clearing up the dead hornets.

"Single file, you're going to be safe, get on the buses".

"Medical attention" a shocked Lizzie finished.

"Everyone get on the bus so we can help you, everyone remain calm".

FEMA Recovery Center, Maple Hallows

"Please form an orderly single file line and proceed to the triage tent for processing, deposit your cellular devices with a representative, please form an orderly single file line and proceed to the triage tent for processing".

The group ended up meeting up with each other at the FEMA Recovery Center, currently they were in a line, waiting to enter the triage.

"I'm so confused" Mia confessed to her brothers and friends, "All the locals that we met said that they hadn't seen anything weird, which means that trouble happened to this town when we came here".

"So how the hell did all these officials get here before the bugs?" Nova wondered.

"Something isn't right here" Jayden said, looking around him in suspicion, "These people are too organized for my liking, almost like they knew what was coming before it was even here".

"Not only that, is this really the appropriate response for a random insect attack?" Asher asked.

"You together?" one of the officials asked the group.

"Yeah, you know, we just came in from Roanoke to see that giant ball of yarn you guys have" Alaric lied.

"And these are?".

Alaric looked at Emma, "This is my wife" he lied, letting out an awkward chuckle, "Emma", Alaric looked at the girls, "These are my daughters, from my first marriage, and the boys--".

"Are our boyfriends" Lizzie and Josie said at the same time, immediately causing Nova, Hope and Mia to glare at them.

"So whose dating who?" Alec whispered to his brother and best friend as the official let them through, Asher elbowed his brother in the stomach in response, "Ow!".

"Keep your mouth shut" Asher warned, before going infront with the others.

Jayden put his arm around Alec's shoulders, "Come on Alec, we both know, Lizzie and Josie aren't the girls you want to date".

Alec glared at his best friend, "Whatever happened that day was because of the slug, stop overthinking it".

"You stop denying your true feelings" Jayden retorted.

"Buzz off" Alec snapped, shoving Jayden off of him.

"Whatever man, all I'm saying is that a girl like Nova isn't going to stay single for the rest of her life" Jayden warned, before walking away to find Mia.

Alec shook his head at his best friend, he then proceeded to walk forward, but suddenly stopped in his step when his eyes landed on a familiar person, without making himself look suspicion, Alec quickly rushed over to where Nova was standing.

"Don't act suspicion" Alec warned the moment he stood next to Nova, he then wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her to him, both of them now face to face.

"Alec, what the hell are you doing?" an extremely confused Nova asked.

"Shh" Alec said, putting his finger on Nova's lip, "Now listen carefully, that guy behind me, he's the same guy we saw outside Seylah's house in Kansas, he made up some fake story about a gas leak".

Nova stealthily looked over Alec's shoulder at the guy he was talking about, though she didn't remember him, she also knew Alec would never lie to her, "So what is he doing here?" a confused Nova asked, turning back to Alec.

"I have no idea" Alec admitted, "Maybe the same thing that we were doing in Kansas, trying to cover something up, Uncle Nik and Uncle Elijah told us about groups like this scattered all across the world, probably tracking the same supernatural activity that we were".

Nova sighed, she then glanced infront of her at the car that was full of weapons, "That is a lot of weapons for a health organization" she commented, her eyes then landed on the scuba diving gear, "Alec" she said, grabbing Alec's arm, "That's swimming gear".

"They're here for the urn" Alec realised.

"Which means that Dorian is in danger" Nova concluded as her and Alec looked at each other.

Alec went and sat next to Jayden who was sitting on one of the beds looking bored out of his mind, "I have a mission for you Mikaelson".

Jayden looked at his best friend, "Tell me Salvatore".

"Dorian might be in danger" Alec informed, "We need to get our hands on a phone so we can call him and make sure he's okay, you up for it?".

Jayden smirked, "Absolutely".

Both Alec and Jayden stood up from the bed and started walking to steal a phone, when suddenly Alec's way was blocked by the man he and Nova had met in Kansas.

"Hi there", Jayden stopped and looked at his best friend, gesturing if he should stay but Alec with his eyes told him to keep going, he got this.

Once Jayden had walked away, Alec looked at the man infront of him, "What's up?".

"I'm Deputy Agent Clarke, I apologize for the inconvenience, I see you're from Richmond?".

"Wrong" Alec stated, "We're from Roanoke".

"I'm just checking in with everyone, sooner we get everyone proper medical attention sooner you can go see that giant ball of yarn" Clarke said, just as Nova, who was sitting on the chairs with Asher and the rest of the girls, her eyes landed on Alec and Clarke, immediately causing her to lean forward in alert, something about Clarke seemed off to both Alec and Nova.

"Don't stress yourself, we're fine, we don't need any of your medical attention" Alec said, giving Clarke a fake smile.

"So you came in from Raleigh on a road trip with your girlfriend's family?" Clarke asked, looking down at the clipboard in his hand.

"Roanoke" Alec corrected again, he had an idea of what Clarke was doing here, and he wasn't going to fall for it.

"Roanoke" Clarke repeated, "Sorry, you ever be to Kansas?".

"Hey, who is that guy?" a curious Josie asked Nova, seeing her glaring at Clarke.

"A creep me and Alec met in Kansas, it was when you guys were in Europe" Nova informed.

"Why were you in Kansas?" a confused Lizzie asked, "Oh, wait, let me guess, it involved you and Alec insinuating yourselves into a situation where only you two could be the heroes".

"God, grow up Lizzie" Asher said, leaning his head against the wall in annoyance.

"Am I wrong?" Lizzie asked, "You guys will do anything to get attention".

"Said the narcissist" Hope taunted.

"Said the, other narcissist" Lizzie retorted.

"Okay, guys, can we please just stop?" Josie said.

"Tell your sister that, Josie" Mia snapped, "Honestly Lizzie, you have a freaking brain, so start using it, why would me and my brothers want to spend spring break with your father? If you have forgotten then let me remind you that that after my parents death, we fell out with your father, we will never want to spend our break with him, and about that fire, me, Nova, and Hope lost half of our things in that fire, including my mother's bracelet, the last thing I had of her, why would I do that to myself?".

A furious Mia stood up and walked away from the Saltzman girl, while Asher stood up and glared at her, "I knew you had no brain Lizzie, I didn't think you were heartless as well" he snapped, before following after his sister.

"Way to go Lizzie" Hope taunted, standing up and following after the two angry siblings.

"I'm a traveler, I travel all around America" Alec defended, "Now, if you're done with the useless questions".

"Actually I was hoping we could talk privately" Clarke said, he then glanced at Nova who was still looking at them, "You and your girlfriend, Rebekah, was it?".

Alec glared at Clarke, "No, we can't talk in private, there's nothing I want to discuss with you".

"I could think of a few things" Clarke retorted, "Mystic Falls, maybe? Or perhaps the school you go to, the one for supernatural children?".

Alec and Nova stood outside the tent talking to Clarke.

"I work for an organisation that keeps monsters and things go bump in the night from public view" Clarke informed the duo, handing Alec a business card, "I thought I recognized you and Rebekah--".

"Nova" Nova corrected, "It's Nova".

"I wasn't sure if it was a coincidence, so we searched the van you two came in" Clarke informed, "We know you're Alec Salvatore, a student who goes to the Salvatore School, we heard a lot about your parents, Damon and Aria Salvatore, that's who the school is in tribute to right?".

"Leave my parents out of this" Alec warned, a dangerous glint in his eyes.

"Look, I applaud your parents and school's mission" Clarke defended, "If you do your job right, makes mine easier".

"So then why are we still being trapped here?" Alec asked, not trusting Clarke one bit.

"Well, I have an entire town that needs to forget what they've seen today, you know, usually it's convincing a farmer in Nebraska he didn't see a chimera, you know, or a few ice fishermen in Minnesota that it wasn't a yeti that ate their best friend, this is a entire town, its different, we could use the assistance of a psychic" Clarke said.

"You know what me and my brother are" Alec realised.

"The Salvatore and Connor bloodlines are very famous bloodlines, I've spent months studying them, that's how I know that you and brother have psychic abilities, so I was hoping you two could use your powers to help this town forget" Clarke said.

"Or here's another option, call all of this a freak swarm of bugs incident" Nova suggested, knowing Alec and Asher didn't like using their psychic powers.

"Can't do that, someone may recognise them for what they are" Clarke said, "Harbingers".

"Of what?" Nova asked.

"Seriously?" Clarke asked, "I mean this is obviously the work of a mummy".

Wide eyed Nova and Alec looked at each other, before Alec turned to Clarke, "Yeah whatever, we knew that" he lied.

"One of our drivers survived an attack by the river" Clarke continued, "He's been tracking the mummy ever since, he's still on the outskirts of town, but he's heading our direction, we're a cleanup organization, we are not equipped to go to battle with a mummy, so will you help? Cut him off at the pass and keep all these people safe? Come on, you guys are kids with magic, in a town full of innocents without it".

"We're in" Nova said, making Alec face palm.

Alec looked at Clarke, annoyance shown clearly on his face, "I guess we're killing this mummy for you".

"Great, so gather what you need, round up your friends, my team can help you with anything else" Clarke said, before walking away.

"You are an idiot" Alec told Nova.

"What did I do?" a confused Nova asked, "I thought we were here to kill monsters".

"You made a deal with the enemy" Alec stated.

"Huh?" a confused Nova asked.

"Okay, I know that you don't remember what happened in Kansas, but I know you remember that field that we woke up in Georgia, that is where the portal to malivore is" Alec revealed, "A company called triad is hiding the portal in plain sight", Alec showed Nova the business card Clarke handed to him.

"Triad" a shocked Nova read out, she looked at Alec in shock, "Oh my god, I made a deal with the enemy".

"Yes you did" Alec confirmed.

Alec and Nova stood outside looking down at map, "According to Clarke, the mummy got it's hands on the urn here", Alec pointed at the river on the map, "Now, we know every monster coming for that urn wants to take that thing to malivore, route twenty one cuts through the center of town and goes all the way to interstate, that is the straightest route for the mummy, which means very soon we will be coming face to face with a mummy".

"I know I want to help save these innocent people but I can't help and think what would happen if we just let the mummy take the urn" Nova admitted.

"We will be responsible for two thirds of a monster apocalypse" Alec stated, "I can have that on my conscious, but can you?".

"No" Nova mumbled, she let out a sigh, "I'm going to go find Hope and Mia, you good?".

"I'm great" Alec assured.

"Okay then, see you when it's attack time then" Nova said, walking away from Alec.

Once Nova had walked away, Jayden walked over, "Recap time" he said, "So the guy whose talking about protecting innocent people, isn't actually innocent because he operates from the top of the portal that leads to hell?".

"It's not hell, my mother destroyed hell" Alec retorted, "It's hell adjacent".

"And remind me again what will happen if the urn gets to malivore" Jayden said, "You know, just so I know what's at stake here".

"Two of the three locks that have kept malivore sealed away will be opened, and if all three of them open, that will most likely lead to the end of all supernatural beings, aka us" Alec reminded.

"And that's exactly what I needed to hear" Jayden said, "Now there's no way I'm letting that mummy walk away with that urn".

"Or Clarke's so called agents" Alec added.

"So we grab the urn and bring it back to our school and with that bring back the monsters?" Jayden asked.

"Do you have a better plan?" Alec asked.

"Not yet" Jayden replied, "So ready to fight?".

"Ready as I'll ever been" Alec said.

"Alec! Jayden!" a panicked Asher yelled, running over to the duo.

"What's wrong?" Alec asked.

"Mia, Hope and Nova left to fight the mummy by themselves" Asher revealed.

"Dammit, Mia" Jayden mumbled, before him and the brothers rushed to find the girls before the mummy found them.

"The boys and Alaric are gonna kill us for sneaking out like this" Nova said, as the three girls walked down the dark street.

"Oh come on, if we let the boys take this then they would have killed the mummy before we even got one hit in" Mia said, "This is going to be so much fun!".

Nova chuckled, "Has anyone told you that you are extremely weird, Mia Salvatore?".

"I'm unique" Mia corrected.

"That you are" Nova laughed.

"Guys" Hope suddenly called out, "I found the mummy".

Nova and Mia looked in the direction Hope was looking and realised the mummy was walking right towards them.

"So, what's the plan?" Nova asked, as the mummy got closer to them, "Do we rush it?".

"We can't rush a seven feet mummy, Nova" Mia said, "Question, what exactly can a mummy do to hurt us?".

"I think we're about to find out" Hope said, as the mummy opened his mouth and a nest of hornets were released towards the three girls.

"Guys" Mia called out, Hope and Nova quickly held Mia's hand and Mia started siphoning from them while the three girl chanted a barrier spell around them, a barrier the moment the hornets touched, they fell to the floor, dead.

"We make a great team" Nova commented.

"I agree" Mia said, before looking at the mummy, "Is it time to rush it?".

Hope shook her head, "Not yet".

The mummy took a step closer to the girls, "Now?" Nova asked.

"No" Hope said.

"Hope, are you sure?" Mia asked, "It's getting closer".

"Wait! On three" Hope said, "One, two--", before Hope could finish her sentence, the mummy lifted his hand up and Hope started coughing out hornets.

"Oh my god" a disgusted Nova said, before she also fell to the floor, coughing out hornets.

"Dammit" Mia whispered, she turned to the mummy but not before whispering a protection spell, "Resistus maledi", Mia then used her magic to create a fire ball, she then blew into it that caused a stream of fire to directly hit the mummy, causing it to turn into ash.

"That was awesome!".

Mia turned around and a huge smile formed on her face seeing Jayden and her brothers, "Did you see that?".

"Yeah, we saw" a smiling Asher said, helping Hope and Nova stand up.

"You okay?" Alec asked, walking over to his sister.

"Never been better" a laughing Mia admitted.

"You are crazy" Jayden laughed.

"She's a Salvatore" Asher and Alec corrected, making the rest of their friends laugh in agreement.

The group of six friends sat together in the van, waiting for the Saltzman to come back.

"So the mummy isn't actually dead?" Nova asked.

"If any of Alaric's books are right then the mummy's curse is bound by the scarab in its chest" Mia informed.

"The curse will only be lifted once Mia siphons the scarab, that's the only way to kill the mummy" Jayden added.

"So the whole burning the mummy to the ground was a distraction?" Asher asked.

"When Nova told me what Alec told her, I knew we had to come with a plan and that too fast" Mia said, "Now all we have to do is wait till we get the urn".

Hope laughed, she wrapped her arm around her best friend and pulled her into a tight side hug, "You are a genius, Mia Salvatore".

"Sometimes" Mia laughed.

"All the time" Jayden said, smiling at Mia, who looked at him and smiled.

"It better not make me bug hurl again" Nova stated, "Because this time, I'll actually puke".

"Guys" Alec called out, seeing the people rush out of the tent, "I think it's time".

"Here we go" Asher said, as the six of them stood in a line together.

"What the hell is happening?" Clarke asked, rushing over to the group.

"We don't know, we thought it was dead" Jayden lied.

"Well clearly he isn't" Clarke stated.

"You don't think we can see that?" Alec snapped.

"He's looking for the urn" Mia realised, watching the mummy wreck everything in it's path.

"What do we do?" Clarke asked.

"Hand the urn over to him" Asher suggested.

Clarke quickly grabbed his walkie talkie from his pocket, "Hey, can someone give this thing the urn".

"Can't, the urn's gone" someone informed through the radio.

"What, who's been in there?" a shocked Clarke asked.

"Only our guys".

"Do something" Clarke told the group.

Asher and Alec looked at their sister, "You ready?" they asked, Mia nodded her head in return, after exchanging a look with Jayden, Alec and Asher rushed the mummy, the quickly grabbed an arm each and Jayden leaped over to grab the scarab around it's neck before throwing it over to Mia, who easily caught it and started siphoning it.

"Hurry!" Hope said, as the mummy prepared to attack, "Like hurry, hurry!".

Just as the mummy launched it's attack, Mia finished her siphoning, and immediately the mummy turned into stone, "The curse is lifted" Mia informed Clarke, "He's officially dead".

"Well, Agent Clarke if they do any more work for you guys, you're gonna have to put them on the payroll" Alaric teased, walking over to the group with Lizzie and Josie, "Guess we'll be on our way out of here, have a goodnight".

And with that everyone sat back in the van, all ready for this long and tiring journey to come to an end.

After driving for a while, Alaric finally pulled the van to a stop, "Okay" he said, before turning to Asher, "So where is she?".

Asher shrugged, "Don't look at me, this is the first time I used my psychic ability on someone, if it doesn't work, it's not my fault".

"I think it worked, Ash" Nova said, pointing outside, the group followed Nova's finger and saw a Triad worker, holding the urn in her hands, walking towards them.

Jayden quickly put his window down and grabbed the urn from the woman's hand, "Thanks love, now go lay low for a little bit".

Once the woman had walked away from the van, Asher looked at Alaric, "You're welcome".

Alaric let out a small chuckle, "All right, let's go home" he said, however before he could start the car again, another car pulling up behind him caught his attention, "Wait a second".

Everyone turned behind them to look who it was and everyone's eyes widen when they realised who it was, "It's Triad" Mia whispered.

"They have Dorian and Emma" Hope realised, seeing Dorian and Emma come out of Clarke's car.

"Oh" an annoyed Alaric whispered, he then looked at Jayden and held his hand out.

"You can't be serious" Jayden protested.

"I'm very serious, hand it over" Alaric demanded.

"Ric, giving them that urn is a bad idea" Mia stated.

"We have no other choice" Alaric retorted, before snatching the urn from Jayden's hand, "All right, sit tight" he told the rest of the group before stepped out of the car.

"I'm impressed" an amused Clarke admitted, "I almost hate to take it off you, my team found your wife looking for Dorian, we thought the two of them will provide some nice leverage in case things went wrong, I think you know what to do to get them back".

Alaric stared at Clarke, before he finally forwarded the urn towards him, "Let them go".

Clarke looked at Dorian and Emma and with his head gestured for them to go over to Alaric, he then grabbed the urn from Alaric's hand and walked back to his car.

After seeing the exchange, Alec looked at his brother, "Next time we see that guy, we rip his heart out".

"Sounds like a plan to me" Asher said, glaring at Clarke's retreating figure, both the brothers having a feeling this wasn't the last time they were going to see Clarke.

Alaric drove the very quiet group back to the Salvatore Boarding School, with the boys sleeping, Mia realised this was the perfect time to make things right with Lizzie, so she leaned forward and looked at the blonde Saltzman, "Hope told me that you thought we spread those rumors about the first episode you had" she said, gaining Lizzie's attention, "If that's the case then you have all the reason in the world to hate us three, but the truth is, we didn't spread any rumors about you Lizzie, we would never do that especially considering the fact that each of us come from an equally messed up family, we probably have the same issues as you, hell I do have the same issue, I will never make fun of that, neither one of us will".

"I believe you" Lizzie said after a moment of silence.

"What I don't get is why anyone would accuse us of that" a confused Hope said, "Who did you hear it from?".

Lizzie glanced at her sister, who was looking out the window, Hope, Mia and Nova looked at Josie who turned to them with a guilty look on her face, the three best friends then looked at each other, Josie spreading such a rumor about them was the last thing either of them expected.

Jayden entered the Salvatore's kitchen where he saw Asher making himself a sandwich, "You good?".

Asher let out a sigh, "This is the first time I used my psychic ability and it drained the hell out of me".

Jayden sighed, "You do realise that to fight Clarke and all the other monsters that come for us, we're going to need to access our full powers, which include your psychic powers".

"You really think Alaric is going to let us access our full powers?" Asher asked.

"I know he isn't" Jayden said, "But now it's no longer about what he wants, it's about our safety, you and Alec need to practice your psychic ability, we need to learn more offensive magic, me and Hope need to start using our werewolf side more, if there is a monster apocalypse coming, them something tells me it's going to be on the six of us to stop it".

"And we can't stop it if we're not the strongest we can be" Asher realised.

"Exactly" Jayden said, "So I say, screw Alaric's rules, it's time we make some of our own, times are changing Ash, and it's important we change with it".

Asher looked at Jayden, "I couldn't agree more".

"Why would you drive a wedge between me and the girls?" a confused Lizzie asked her sister once they were back in their room and had changed into their pajamas, "Why lie?".

"We were wondering the same thing", Josie and Lizzie looked towards the door and saw Mia, Nova and Hope standing there, looking at Josie for answers.

Josie took a deep breath, "I didn't just lie" she admitted, she looked towards the three girls, "I started the fire", hearing Josie, immediately caused Mia to pull her hands into a fist, she suddenly found it really hard to breathe after hearing that Josie was the reason she lost the most important thing she had over her mother and father's love story, seeing Mia's state, both Hope and Nova stood on either side of her and grabbed her arm, silently lending her their support, "Lizzie had made some remark about me being obsessed with Hope, I just blurted out, how could I be obsessed with somebody who would team up with her friends to say such mean things about my twin?".

"But we didn't" Hope snapped, glaring at Josie.

"I know" a guilty Josie said, "I just made it up".

"Why would you do that?" a confused Nova asked.

"Because I didn't want Lizzie to know the truth" Josie admitted, she looked at Hope, "I had a crush on you, and I had slipped a note into your room that morning and I don't know, I just really immediately regretted it but I couldn't get in by then, so I did a fire spell under your door, I was really only aiming for the note".

A teary eyed Mia looked at Josie, "Yeah well you ended up burning a lot more then the damn note" she snapped, making Josie look even more guilty then before.

"Why would it matter that I knew?" a confused Lizzie asked her sister.

"Because my whole life, any time I've ever like anyone, you go for them" Josie stated, "And you always win".

Mia stepped back from her best friends, causing them to look at her, but Mia ignored their looks and rushed out the room, as she was running, Mia suddenly crashed into someone.

"Woah careful, Mia".

Mia looked up at the person who had saved her by grabbing her by the waist, "Jayden".

"You're crying" Jayden realised, a frown appearing on her face, "Why are you crying?".

Mia didn't say anything, she just lunged forward and wrapped her arms around Jayden's neck, "Hold me" she whispered, "Please just hold me, Jayden".

Though Jayden had no idea what happened, he didn't waste any time in wrapping his arms around Mia and pulling her against him in a tight hug, "I've got you" he promised.
