03. You Remind Me Of Someone I Used To Know

They say it's better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all, personally I think whoever wrote that never experienced being forgotten by the people they love, they never experienced realising your love for someone but them not even remembering you, it makes you feel alone, it makes you wonder what would have happened if you had opened your eyes a bit earlier and realised who you truly loved, maybe then four hearts wouldn't have been in so much pain.

Asher entered the Mystic Falls High School, only to see the whole outside of the school vandalized, before Asher could have any reaction, he heard the sirens of the sheriff's car.

"This looks pretty self explanatory" the new sheriff told Asher as she stepped out of her car and walked over to the oldest Salvatore, "But you wanna give it a shot?".

"Excuse me?" a confused Asher asked, "Are you seriously blaming me for all this?".

Suddenly the window rolling down on back seat of the sheriff's car caught Asher's attention, it was the new girl Maya, "There's no way Asher did it, he's a timberwolf not a stallion".

"Did you get arrested?" a confused Asher asked.

"Oh don't worry, she's my mom" Maya informed, stepping out of the car, "We don't really like to talk about it".

"We?" Asher asked.

"Hey Asher" Ethan greeted, also stepping out of the car.

"Ethan?" Asher said, "Wait, you guys are siblings?".

"Yeap" Ethan confirmed before walking past Asher, neither him or his sister wanting to be seen near a cop car.

"Now, show me where I can find principle Saltzman" the sheriff told Asher once her kids had walked away.

"Yes sorry, I haven't seen him" Alaric admitted, handing the photo of the missing boy back to the sheriff, "Like I said, I'm pretty new here".

"Well his teammates last saw him at the old mill by the Salvatore school, they found his truck abandoned and his hunting rifle nearby".

"Okay well I'll check with his classmates and his teachers, I wish I could be more helpful like I said I'm still getting to know the students, and the sheriff, I was friends with the old one" Alaric informed.

"Please, no more stories about how great sheriff Donovan was, the shoes are already big enough, and this is my first real case since I moved here from the city, truthfully I didn't mind that my biggest concern up to this point was a rush of missing dogs, maybe they're connected".

"Maybe" Alaric teased,

The sheriff chuckled as she stood up from her seat, "I'll leave you my phone number, call me anytime".

Alaric watched as the sheriff walked out of his office, "Did you get all of that?" he asked, turning around and seeing Asher sitting on his chair.

"Yeah, first of all, sheriff Donovan wasn't that great, we solved all his cases for him, second of all, the sheriff wants you" Asher informed.

"What?" an amused Alaric asked, "No, she's just new to town trying to make friends, which is exactly what you need to be doing".

"No thank you, that's not my specialty, I'm more into monster hunting" Asher said.

 "Well sounds like there could be another monster lurking around the Salvatore school, so I'll check in with Dorian since he has access to resources we don't" Alaric said, "Any other ideas?".

"There is one other idea" Asher informed, "But something tells me we both are going to hate this idea".

"As you're well aware, it's time for the annual American football match with Mystic Falls High" Professor Vardemus announced to the student body of the Salvatore school, Hope, Nova, Mia, Alec and Jayden looked at each other and smiled, knowing they had won the last football match because of Nova and Mia, "Today, you will not be forced to lose the game so that humans could feel superior, every one of you is special, every one of you, and it's time you showed it".

A confused and skeptical Mia stood up from her seat, "What are you suggesting here Professor?".

"You're gonna use your powers, granted it's going to be in moderation, Miss Salvatore" Professor Vardemus said, "While the goal is not exposure, it's merely to win, think of it as an exercise in control".

"Well I am here for it" an excited Kaleb said.

"But we don't have to use our powers to win" Mia protested.

"Mia's right, last time we won without powers" Nova said, also standing up.

Hope stood up from seat, "It's wrong to use our powers against people who have no idea what we are, if we want to win, we should win fair and square".

"Miss Salvatore, Miss St. John and Miss Mikaelson, please have a seat and refrain from talking about things you have no clue about" Professor Vardemus said.

"Are you kidding me?!" a furious Mia asked, glaring at their new headmaster, however before Mia could say anything to him, Jayden grabbed her wrist and forced her to sit down, "Stop doing that!" an annoyed Mia snapped, snatching her wrist from Jayden's grip.

"Can you stop creating problems?" Jayden snapped.

"I'm creating problems?" a shocked Mia asked, "I'm trying to stop a new problem from rising Jayden, but of course you would agree with him".

"I never said I agree with him Mia" Jayden argued.

"Guys, stop" Alec said, him, Nova and Hope confused seeing the couple argue like this, Jayden and Mia glared at each other but nonetheless stopped arguing and turned back to the front.

"And who better to lead you in this endeavor, as your quarterback, and our very own, Alec Salvatore" Vardemus continued, throwing the football in his towards Alec who very easily caught it.

"Oh, I'm not part of the team" a confused Alec pointed out.

"You are now" Vardemus said.

The stallions were all the ground, stretching and getting ready for the game, when their eyes landed on the school bus that had parked near the ground, Mia, who was drinking water suddenly spat it out after seeing Asher step out of the bus, ever since Asher told her he was her brother, Mia and him started having late night calls in which they told each other about their whole day and in one of those calls Asher told Mia he hated the Timberwolves and would never been seen in their jersey, yet here he was.

"You okay?" a concerned Nova asked her best friend.

"I'm fine, here" Mia said, handing her water bottle to Nova, "Hold this, I'll be right back", Mia quickly ran over to Asher and hugged him, "I'm so happy you're here!".

Asher laughed but nonetheless hugged his sister back, "I'm glad that at least one of us is happy".

Jayden stood next to Alec and watched Mia hug Asher and immediately he could feel his wolf side go haywire, "Who is that?".

Alec looked in the direction Jayden was looking at and saw Mia and Asher talking, "I don't know" a confused confused Alec said, wondering why his antisocial sister was getting close to someone.

Jayden looked at Alec, "Aren't you going to go there and be all big brother like you always do when Mia starts speaking to strangers?".

Alec looked at Mia and Asher, and after a moment, he shook his head, "No" he said.

"Why the hell not?" an annoyed Jayden asked.

Alec shrugged his shoulder, "Because Mia isn't a child anymore, if she's making new friends, then she's allowed to do that, and dude, you need to back off a bit, there's nothing that turns a girl off more then a controlling boyfriend".

"I'm not being controlling, I'm concerned" Jayden defended.

"Mia won't see it like that" Alec retorted, "If anything she would see it as you not trusting her, so let it go and wait for her to introduce the new guy to you", Alec looked at Asher, "And don't ask me how I know this, but I don't think that guy is a threat to you".

Professor Vardemus walked in between the two lined up teams, "Let us begin our annual rite of American express" he said, as Alec stood across Asher and gave him a curious look, something about him seemed really familiar to him but what he had no idea, "I expect no unseemly violence, only for each team to play to the fullest extent of their abilities", Vardemus looked at the Salvatore Stallions, "Understood?", while everyone nodded, Alec and Mia exchanged a worried look between, a look not missed by their brother, who was wondering why did his siblings look so worried, "Timberwolves of Mystic Falls, you may, as I believe they say, call it in the air".

Vardemus tossed the coin into the air, "Heads".

Once the coin landed on the floor both Alec and Asher leaned forward to check what it landed on, "It's tails" Alec informed.

"We'll take the ball" a smiling Josie said, making Mia look at her in suspicion.

"So it begins" Vardemus said, he went to walk off but turned to the students when he remembered something, "Uh, shake hands".

Alec stepped forward and shook Asher's hand, "Do I know you?" he suddenly asked.

Asher looked at Alec, slightly wide eyed, "Uh no, I've never seen you before".

"Right" Alec whispered, before walking away from Asher.

Once Alec had left, Asher looked at Mia who was already looking at him with a knowing look on her face, Mia had begged Asher to tell Alec the truth but Asher refused, according to him he already came between Alec and Nova once, he couldn't do it again and he knew the moment Alec remembers everything, he would once again push Nova away from him because he would never let a girl come between him and his brother, but Asher didn't want that to happen, he wanted his brother to be happy, and the only way he could be happy was if he was with Nova, Asher knew that feeling really well, only difference was while Alec's happiness was in Nova, Asher's was in a certain Mikaelson, something he only started to realise once she had forgotten all about him.

After speaking to Dorian, Alaric met up with Asher to inform him about their new monster problem, "Dorian found the missing kid, thank god he's okay, but we definitely have another monster wandering around these woods, Dorian's digging into the research, but he thinks it's a Shunka, and before you ask what it is, it's a carnivorous creature that feeds only on werewolves".

"So shouldn't we be good?" a slightly confused Asher asked, "It's not a full moon tonight".

"Yeah except Raf has been stuck in wolf form ever since you've been gone" Alaric revealed.

"Raf?" a shocked Asher asked, when suddenly he remembered something, "Oh shit, the day before I jumped into the pit, I helped Hope come up with a spell that will help Raf turn into a wolf without the full moon, we wanted to help him, Hope created the spell which allowed Raf to turn but I created the reversal spell and since I jumped into the pit, Hope forgot everything about me, including the spell that would turn him back into a human".

"Spot on" Alaric said, "Can you turn him back?".

"I can" Asher assured, "You know what? I'm gonna go find him before he ends up being the Shunka's food".

"I need to get out of here now and go find Raf" Asher realised as the game between the Stallions and Timberwolves started behind him.

"Agreed" Alaric said, "We just need to find a way to ditch this game".

"Not we, just me" Asher clarified, "You need to stay here and keep an eye on this game and the new headmaster".

Alaric looked at Asher in confusion wondering why he would need to keep an eye on the new headmaster, "Why?".

"When the headmaster was giving his speech, Mia and Alec looked worried and then I checked the toss coin, he had spelled it, he's using magic to cheat Ric, he's gonna get us all exposed" Asher stated.

"Caroline picked my replacement herself" Alaric reminded, "There's no way she's gonna hire a--", Alaric stopped talking when he looked towards Vardemus and saw him standing there with an umbrella over his head, "Weirdo with an umbrella".

"Exactly" Asher said, "I have a sneaky suspicion this isn't Care Bear's doing".

"Okay I'm on it" Alaric said, realising Asher might actually have a reason to be suspicious.

"Good, now excuse me, I'm gonna go plan my escape" Asher said, turning around and walking over towards the game.

"Break a leg" Alaric called out.

"Hopefully literally" Asher mumbled, as he approached Maya, "Hey" he greeted, giving his hand to Maya and helping her stand up from the ground.

"Hey" Maya greeted, "Thought I had her, trick play, I guess".

"Something like that" Asher said, shaking his head at Josie's antics, "We've lost".

"Hey, it was just one score and you're gonna march us straight down that field and tie us up" Maya stated.

"Me?" a confused Asher asked, "I thought your brother was the quarterback".

"Not today" Maya informed, "He can't risk blowing out his knee on some pick up game, so we're all counting on you".

Once Maya walked away, Asher looked towards the Stallion's and realised his brother was their quarterback, meaning this game was literally now Asher vs Alec, "Kill me now".

An excited Jayden rushed over to Mia who was sitting on the bench for this game, "Hey, did you see that block?".

"Sorry, I'm a bit distracted" Mia admitted, looking up from her grimoire and giving Jayden a guilty look, she had decided to sit on the bench this game and read her mother's grimoire to find a spell that would restore everyone's memories of Asher, though Asher didn't want people to remember him, Mia hated not remembering her brother, even if she couldn't bring everyone else's memories, she at least wanted her memories back.

"Of course you are" Jayden said, the bitter tone evident in his voice.

"Come on Jayden, don't be mad" Mia said, "This is very important, you know if it wasn't then there's no way I'd miss you play".

"Recently it seems like everyone but me is important to you" Jayden taunted.

"Don't be like this" Mia said, starting to get angry with Jayden, "Trust me, if I figure this out, even you will be happy".

"You know what would have made me happy?" Jayden asked, "If my girlfriend decided to be supportive of me for once in her life".

"Are you kidding me?!" a furious Mia asked, before standing up from her seat and glaring at Jayden, "I have always supported you Jayden, even when I knew you were being an idiot I supported you, I miss your one block and all of a sudden I'm a bad girlfriend, seriously? If that's the case, then you need to really grow the hell up".

Mia grabbed her bag and grimoire and stormed away from an equally furious Jayden, who turned around and walked in the opposite direction of the Salvatore girl.

Asher joined the Timberwolves huddle, "Alright, what are we doing?".

"You tell us, you're the quarterback Asher" Maya reminded, "You call the plays".

"Oh lovely" Asher mumbled, "Um, how about we all just go long?".

"Works for me" Maya said, "Timberwolves on three?".

Everyone put their hands in the middle, "One, two, three" Asher counted.

"Timberwolves!" the whole team shouted, before throwing their hands up in the air and the rushing off to their respective positions.

Alec ran over to Hope, "You're blitzing on first down".

"I'm doing what on what now?" a confused Hope asked.

"See their quarterback?" Alec asked, gesturing towards Asher, "The moment he snaps the ball, you yell blitz and bury him to the ground".

Hope looked at Asher then at Alec, "Is burying him necessary?".

"Hope, you can crush on him after the game, right now I need us to win this game the right way, and we can only do that if all of us focus, got it?" Alec asked, determined to win this game without magic.

Hope let out a sigh, but nonetheless nodded her head, knowing Alec was right, "Got it".

"Great" Alec said, he patted Hope's shoulder and then rushed to his position, once he was in his position, he saw Maya throw the ball and Asher catch it in his hands, "Hope now!".

"Blitz!" Hope yelled, before rushing towards Asher, just as she reached Asher, she went to tackle him but Asher managed to throw the ball towards Maya right before Hope tackled him to the ground.

"I got it!" Kaleb yelled, both him and MG running towards the ball and in the process bumping into each other and falling to the ground, making it easier for Maya to catch the ball and ran to their scoring line, tying the Stallions and Timberwolves scores.

Asher groaned in pain and opened his eyes, his eyes immediately went wide when he realised Hope was straddling him, with her head to his chest, "Uh, hi?".

Hope lifted her head up from Asher's chest and gave him a sheepish smile, "Hey" she greeted, before sliding off of Asher.

Asher slowly sat up and the moment he sat up, he let out a painful yell as his hand went behind his back, "Ah shit!".

"What's wrong?" a suddenly very concerned Hope asked, "Are you okay? Did I hurt you?".

"Uh, my back was already giving me trouble before you tackled me to the ground, the tackle just made it that I won't be able to keep playing" Asher informed, as Hope grabbed his arm and put it around her neck and slowly helped Asher stand up.

"Yeah, definitely can't play" Asher said, as he winced in pain.

"There's a nurses office in the school, do you want me to take you there?" an extremely guilty Hope asked.

"No, it's all good, I'll find it myself, but I appericate the offer" Asher said, smiling at Hope.

"You sure?" Hope asked, "Cause I really don't mind".

"I'm sure and I'm pretty sure your team needs you to stay here and do more tackles like this" Asher teased, making Hope let out a small laugh, "I'll see you around".

"See ya" Hope whispered, watching as Asher slowly limped away from her, "I'm so stupid" a guilty Hope whispered to herself, before turning her attention away from Asher and back to the game.

"You need a new quarterback" Asher told Alaric once he reached him.

Alaric nodded his head in understanding, "Happy hunting".

Asher sneaked into the Salvatore school, and the moment he entered the school a sad smile formed on his face as he looked around the common room, remembering all the moments he had in this very room with his siblings and friends, realising his head was going down a route he couldn't afford it to go towards right now, Asher quickly shook his head and rushed upstairs to Rafael's room.

Asher entered Rafael and Landon's shared room, he immediately walked over to the packed boxes that were full of Rafael's things, he grabbed some clothes for the werewolf and put it in his bag, he then sat on the floor and pulled out a map from his bag and laid the map on the ground, he then pulled out a knife from his bag and made a cut on his finger and let a drop of his blood drop on to the map.

"What the hell are you doing here?" a confused Hope asked, entering Landon and Rafael's room and seeing the boy she shared one late night conversation with doing something shady.

"You've got to be kidding me" Asher mumbled to himself, before he stood up and turned to Hope, "Okay, I totally get how creepy this looks".

"This doesn't look creepy, it looks like magic" Hope retorted, "Which means you're not human, are you?".

Asher let out a sigh, "No, I'm not human, my name is Asher, I have magic and currently I'm working with Dr. Saltzman to track down Rafael".

Hope looked at the map on the ground, "You were about to do a locator spell" she realised.

"Yeap" Asher confirmed.

"Why wouldn't Ric ask one of us to do it?" a confused Hope asked.

"Because none of you know the spell that will turn Rafael human again" Asher said.

Hope looked at Asher wide eyed, "You know how to turn Rafael back?".

"I do and I need to find Rafael before the monster finds him" Asher said.

"Monster?" a worried Hope asked, "What monster?".

"There's a monster in the woods that feeds on werewolves" Asher informed.

"Okay then I'm coming with you" Hope stated.

"No offense, I'm kind of a lone solider" Asher said.

"I don't care, Rafael is my friend and my spell is what put him in this position in the first place" Hope argued, "I have to help him".

"You can't blame yourself for everything that goes wrong Hope" Asher said.

Hope looked at Asher in confusion, "How do you know my name?" she asked, not remembering telling Asher her name.

Asher looked at Hope, wide eyed, "Uh, you told me, the night we had that conversation at the town square".

"I did?" an extremely confused Hope asked.

"You did" Asher said, "So anyways, I'm not going to waste my time in arguing with you, that's wasting precious time".

"Agreed" Hope said.

"Do try to keep up" Asher teased, as he grabbed the map and his bag from the floor and walked out the room.

"You have no idea who you're talking to" Hope retorted, before following after Asher.

"Okay, okay, Stallions, I see you" Kaleb cheered, as the team entered the gym for their break, "That's what I'm talking about, good half, now we can take it easy, this game is done and dusted".

"No it's not" Josie stated, "We need to score more".

"The score is 35-7, Josie" Alec reminded, "We need to take it easy now".

"Why don't I feel happy that we're winning?" Nova wondered.

"Because we're winning the wrong way" Alec stated, "I really think we shouldn't use our powers in the second half".

"What?" a shocked Josie asked, "Why not?".

"I can't believe I'm about to say this, but Ric was right about not using our powers to win" Alec said, "I mean, last time none of you used your powers and won, didn't that feel much amazing then this?".

"I agree with Alec" Kaleb said, "Last year the win felt amazing because we won fair and square".

"And this year's win feels shit because we're cheating" Nova said.

"Exactly" Alec said, "You know I'm all for kicking those Timberwolves asses, but not like this".

Josie, who was clearly unhappy with the decision of not using their powers, opened her mouth to protest, but before she could say anything, Professor Vardemus entered the gym, "Enough leisure!" he said, "Get back out there and showcase your superiority".

As the students started walking out the gym, their eyes landed on Alaric who was walking into the gym, "Dad" a confused Josie greeted, wondering what her dad was doing here.

"Hi girls" Alaric greeted both Josie and Lizzie, "Uh, I just need a moment with your headmaster".

Alec and Nova walked over to Alaric, "Either get rid of him or fix him" Alec whisper yelled to Alaric, "Because he is really starting to get on my nerves and I don't know how long I can stop myself before I attack him".

Without hearing for Alaric's response, Alec laced his fingers with Nova and the two walked out the gym together, leaving Alaric alone to confront Vardemus.

"Alright, according to this map Rafael should be up ahead somewhere" Asher informed Hope as the two walked in the woods together, looking for Rafael.

"Nice" Hope said.

Asher looked at Hope, a slight look of confusion on his face, "You're saying nice, but your tone is suggesting something completely different".

Hope sighed, "It's just, I'm a bit confused".

"About?" a curious Asher asked.

"Why are you, a complete stranger, so eager to help Rafael?" Hope wondered.

Asher let out a sigh, "From what I've heard from Ric, Rafael is important to someone, he has a brother, doesn't he?", Hope nodded her head, "I have a brother as well, but I lost him, I know the feeling of losing a brother and it's probably one of the worst feelings in this world, I just want to reunite Rafael with his family, because trust me, there's nothing more painful then losing a loved one".

Hope looked at Asher, an unknown feeling rising in her heart, but before she could say anything to him, both of them heard a man's yell, "Help! Somebody help!".

Without wasting a second, both Asher and Hope ran towards the yell, they suddenly stopped running when they realised the scream was coming from a very large Shunka, both Asher and Hope stood side by side and yelled out a spell together, "Incendia!".

"We need a plan B" Asher said, after realising their spell didn't burn the Shunka.

"Turn order" Hope ordered.

"Why?" a confused Asher asked.

"Because plan B requires me getting naked" Hope informed.

"What?" a shocked Asher asked.

"Turn around" Hope said, grabbing Asher's shoulder's and forcing him to turn his back to her.

"Wait, why are you getting naked?" a confused Asher asked, as Hope started taking her clothes off.

"Didn't you say that this monster feeds on werewolves?" Hope asked.

"Yeah it does" Asher said, confused with why Hope was asking that, when suddenly realisation drew on him, "Oh no, Hope do not--", Asher turned around to stop Hope from turning into a werewolf to distract the monster but the moment he turned around he was met with a grey wolf that had caught the Shunka's attention, "Dammit Hope!".

"Hope!" Asher yelled, walking around in the woods while looking for the Mikaelson tribrid, "Hope, where the hell are you?! Hope! Out of all the stupidest ideas you've had, this has got to be the stupidest!", suddenly Asher's attention was drawn to the side where he saw a black wolf slowly approaching him, "Rafael" he whispered, "Thank god I found someone, look Rafael, I know you have no idea who I am, but you being stuck like this is my fault, Hope blames herself but she has no idea that turning you back was on me, not her", Rafael turned to leave, "Raf, just wait!" Asher called out, stopping the wolf from walking away, "Look, I can help you, you've got to let me help you".

While everyone else was busy with the game, Mia had sneaked off to the old mill to cool herself down, currently she laid on the grass outside the old mill and stared up at the stars in the sky.

"Mia".

Mia looked to her side and saw Sebastian, the guy she met yesterday, standing by the trees, looking at her.

"How long have you been standing there?" a curious Mia asked, sitting up.

"Long enough to realise that there is something disturbing you" Sebastian said, walking over to Mia and sitting next to her.

"There's a lot of things disturbing me" Mia admitted, before looking at Sebastian, a curious look on her face, "By the way, why are you back here?".

Sebastian looked at Mia, "I had to see you" he admitted, "You remind me of someone I used to know".

"Are you sure about that?" Mia asked, "People usually say I'm one of a kind".

Sebastian let out a chuckle, "As was she, I once thought that she was the most beautiful young woman I'd ever seen".

Mia nodded her head in understanding, "There's this guy" she informed, making Sebastian look at her, "I thought he was the one for me".

"Was?" Sebastian asked.

"Recently my perspective might have changed" a guilty Mia admitted, "It's almost like when we weren't together, we were the best people for each other, we made each other so happy, but now that we have each other, we starting to take each other for granted, he thinks no matter what he says I'll stay".

"Will you?" a curious Sebastian asked.

"I don't know" Mia admitted, "I've always wanted a love story like my parents, my god mother used to say that my dad's love consumed my mother, it had adventure, passion and even a little danger, I want that, but I don't want to lose myself in the process".

"Isn't losing yourself the magic of love?" Sebastian asked.

"I want someone to love me as I am" Mia whispered, "I don't want to have to change for someone to love me".

"Well, if it's any consolation, the Mia I'm seeing right now, she has completely bewitched me" Sebastian admitted.

Mia let out a chuckle, "That might because I'm a witch", once Mia realised what she's blurted out, she immediately slapped a hand across her mouth, "Oh my god, that was not supposed to come out".

"It's okay" an amused Sebastian, "Being a witch is nothing to be ashamed of, at least you're not a monster like me".

Mia looked at Sebastian, a slightly shocked and afraid look on her face, "You're a monster?".

"I am a vampire" Sebastian revealed, as veins appeared under his eyes, "Creature of the night".

"Oh thank god" Mia whispered, breathing a sigh of relief.

"I'm a bit confused" Sebastian admitted, seeing Mia breath a sigh of relief and not run away from him.

"I'm relieved you're just a vampire and not some weird mythological monster that I have no idea how to fight" Mia said.

"So you're not scared of me?" Sebastian asked.

"Of course not Sebastian, I grew up with vampires, some of my best friends are vampires, hell I have some vampire in me" Mia informed, "So no, I'm not scared of you".

Sebastian gave Mia a smile, "I'm glad".

Hope, still in her wolf form, was in the middle of the woods fighting the large Shunka when suddenly two arrows were pierced through the Shunka's heart, Hope, still in her wolf form, looked behind the Shunka and saw Asher standing there with a now human Rafael, both the boys having a crossbow in their hands.

"It's not dead!" Rafael yelled to Asher.

"I know" Asher said, before running over to the Shunka, once he reached the monster, he ripped an arrow from his chest and stabbed him in the throat, finally managing to kill the monster.

Hope quickly transformed back into her human self and without looking at her, Asher handed her his jacket, which Hope gladly took and wore, once Asher's jacket was on her, an excited Hope ran over to Rafael and pulled him into a tight hug, "I was so scared you were gone".

"You can stop thinking that now, cause I'm back, thanks to you" a grateful Rafael said.

Hope immediately shook her head, "No Raf, it wasn't me, it was him, he--", Hope turned to where she last saw Asher but to her confusion, he was no longer standing there, "It was that guy Raf, he's the one who saved you".

"Who was that guy?" a confused Rafael asked.

"I have no clue" an equally confused Hope admitted.

Mom always believed that loneliness never lasts forever, she believed that being alone can never last forever, at sometime every person, weather you're a supernatural or a human, you need to reach out to someone or something and seek comfort in how things used to be, before everything got so complicated.

But we have to realise that things change, and somethings can never go back to how they were, no matter how much we want them to, that's when the troubling question starts rising, where do we go from here? Who do we turn to now?.

Asher sat outside the Mystic Falls Hospital emergency department, he was sitting on a bench, writing in his diary.

"Asher?" a confused Maya called out, stepping out of the emergency department and seeing Asher outside.

"Hey" Asher greeted, quickly closing her diary and standing up from the bench.

"What are you doing here?" Maya asked.

"I wanted to check on you and Ethan" Asher said, feeling extremely guilty, knowing if he played then Ethan wouldn't have.

"He worked so hard for that scholarship" Maya cried, "And now it's over".

"Hey, come here" Asher said, pulling Maya into a hug.

Maybe mom was right, eventually everyone finds somebody who takes the loneliness away.

"Hey" Alec greeted, walking into the common room and seeing a conflicted Nova sitting there, staring at the fireplace.

Nova looked at Alec and gave him a small smile, "Hey".

"What's wrong?" Alec asked, taking a seat next to his girlfriend.

Nova placed her legs over Alec's lap and looped her arm around his and then placed her head on his shoulder, "Ethan's injury at the game, that wasn't an accident, I saw Josie use magic to hurt him but I didn't say anything to anyone, I kept quiet and now the guilt is eating me alive".

Alec let out a sigh, "What Josie did, it wasn't your fault Nova, it was hers, don't feel guilty for her actions, that's her job".

"We had the summer of our life, but why does it feel like things are going back to shit now?" Nova wondered.

"Because they are Nova" Alec whispered, "I talked to Hope, according to her the malivore monsters are back, whatever she and Landon did to stop them, clearly didn't work, we also have a shady headmaster whose hell bent on exposing us to the world, and then there's that guy we saw at the game".

"The quarterback?" Nova asked.

Alec nodded her head, "I don't know what it is about him but something feels off".

"What is it that feels off Alec?" a confused Nova asked, lifting her head up from Alec's shoulder and looking at him.

Alec looked at Nova, "I was hoping you'd help me figure that out".

"Gladly" Nova whispered, as she placed a hand on Alec's cheek and leaned forward to place a kiss on his lips.

Once the two broke their heated kiss, Alec leaned his forehead against Nova, "Please don't leave me" he whispered.

"I'll never leave you Alec, as long as you never break my heart" Nova whispered.

"Never in a million years" Alec promised.

Nova smiled at Alec before she pulled him into another heated kiss.
