01. This Is The Part Where You Run

Dear Journal,

Ever since we were born, me and my brothers have watched our mother and father fight against all the evils that tried to separate them, they even fought each other, but at the end of the day their love won all, they didn't even let death separate them, when mom jumped into that fire, dad followed straight away, not wanting to live in a world that didn't have his soulmate in it, Damon Salvatore and Aria Salvatore, died as heroes, and now as their children, we are expected to follow in their footsteps, people look at us to be the exact heroes mom and dad were, and that terrifies me.

Mom and Dad will always be my heroes, I will always be proud of them, but I wonder if they will feel the same when they look at me, I'm supposed to be my mother's daughter, I'm supposed to be strong like her, yet here I am, unable to even leave my room in fear of someone coming out of the shadows and attacking me, maybe that's why Asher and Alec are so protected of me, they know that though I might look like mom, I'm not her, I can never be her.

My name is Mia Salvatore, I'm the youngest daughter of Damon and Aria Salvatore, my dad was a well known villain before he met my mom, who turned him into a hero, you've heard the story of Damon and Aria, now it's time to hear the story of their children, it's time for me, Alec and Asher to decide are we going to be a villain or a hero, or someone in between.

Mia let out a startled gasp when the door to her shared room burst open and a furious Hope Mikaelson walked in.

"They left us!" Hope yelled, "Our brothers actually left us, again!".

Mia sighed, she closed her diary and placed it on her side table, right next to a picture of her mom and dad on their wedding day, "And why are you surprised by this?" she asked, "They leave us everytime".

Hope groaned in annoyance and went and laid next to her best friend, "When are they going to realise that we are perfectly capable of taking care of ourselves, that we don't need them to shelter us from the world?".

"Jayden doesn't shelter you from the world" Mia clarified, "If you really wanted to go with him, he would have taken you along".

"And leave you alone here?" Hope asked, "Yeah, no thanks".

"I wouldn't be alone, I have Nova" Mia pointed out.

"Whose too busy picking fights with Lizzie" Hope retorted, "You know what? I can't wait for the day your brothers realise you are no longer the six year old Mia who cried everytime she siphoned from someone, you've grown up, and it's high time they realise it".

"They mean well" Mia defended.

"I know" Hope sighed, "But it sucks when those three get to go on secret missions and we are stuck here watching Lizzie and Nova go back and forth, it's so annoying!".

"Don't worry, one day we will also go on secret missions together" Mia said, "And then we will make them watch Nova and Lizzie's cat fights while we save the world".

Hope laughed and gave her a best friend a high five, "Sounds like a plan".

Atlanta, GA

Landon Kirby sat outside a church, his earphone in while scribbling on his notebook while his foster brother, Rafael, was inside the church being exorcised because the church people thought he had a demon inside him, when in reality, he didn't have a demon in him, he was simply a werewolf.

Landon's attention was drawn infront of him when a car came to abrupt stop and out came two teenagers.

"Let's get this over and done with" Asher Salvatore said, stepping out of the passenger seat, "I've got better things to do tonight".

"Which is what?" Jayden Mikaelson asked, coming out of the back door of the car, "Exchange tonsils with Nova?", Asher slapped the back of Jayden's head, "Hey!".

"When are you going to learn to speak properly?" an annoyed Asher asked.

"The day you take that stick out of your ass, my brother" Alec Salvatore said, also coming out of the same door Jayden did, in the process kicking Jayden's leg.

"Okay, honestly, you two really need to stop hitting me!" an annoyed Jayden said, while rubbing the back of his knee.

"It was an accident" Alec defended.

"And you'll live" Asher pointed out, "We're not getting rid of you this easily".

Jayden shook his head, "Worst friends ever!".

Alec put his arm around Jayden's shoulder, "Best friends forever".

Jayden shoved Alec away from him, "Get away, you stick".

"Hey!" Alec said, "I showered right before we came I'll have you know".

"Oh what a favor you did on all of us" Asher said sarcastically.

"Okay, no" Alec said, "We are not switching targets from Jayden to Alec".

"Why are we targeting me?" a confused Jayden asked.

"Because it's easy" Asher and Alec said stimuteanously. 

Jayden shuddered hearing Asher and Alec speak together, "Yeap, still hate that".

"You and Hope speak at the same time as well" Asher reminded.

"Yeah but that's me and Hope" Jayden retorted, "Just cause I like doing it with my twin, doesn't mean I like hearing you two speak at the same time, it's really creepy".

"Well, now you know how everyone feels when you and Hope speak like this" Alec said.

"Okay enough" Asher said, before Jayden could open his mouth to say something else, "Let's just go get this new kid so we can all go home".

"And listen to Hope's threats" Alec said.

"Yikes" Jayden whispered, knowing his sister isn't going to be happy with them.

Asher rolled his eyes at his brother and best friend, "Hope isn't as scary as you two are making her to be".

"You would say that" Alec mocked.

Asher narrowed her eyes at his brother, "What does that mean?".

Alec shrugged, "Nothing brother of mine, now can we please go?".

"Yes please" Jayden said, taking a step towards the church, but he stopped in his step once his eyes landed on the familiar face stilling on the stairs, a face he had wished to never see again, "Landon".

"Jayden?" a confused Landon said.

"You are literally everywhere" Asher said, glaring at the boy infront of him, just like Jayden he wasn't a huge fan of Landon Kirby either.

"You three know each other?" Alaric Saltzman asked, stepping out of the drivers seat and walking over to the group.

"Yeah, that's what I would like to know" a confused Alec said, the only one not having met Landon that day, "How do you we know this guy?".

"He danced with Mia" Jayden said, glaring at Landon.

"And Hope" Asher added, also glaring at Landon.

Alec glared at Landon, who was suddenly feeling very intimidated by the three angry boys infront of him, "You danced with both Mia and Hope?" he asked, "Were you trying to play with their feelings?".

"What?" a shocked Landon asked, "Of course not, I didn't want to dance with Hope, I wanted to dance with Mi--".

Jayden took a threatening step towards Landon, "Don't complete that sentence" he warned.

"Okay boys, that's enough" Alaric said, knowing all to well how these three boys got when it came to the three girls.

The three boys looked towards the church when they heard Rafael's growling and glass shattering, Alaric quickly walked over to the door and tried to open it but failed, he then turned to the three boys, "Doors are locked" he informed.

Asher nodded his head, he took a step forward, "Dissera Portus!" he yelled, opening the door with his magic.

Once the door was opened, Jayden turned to Landon, "For your own safety, stay out here, don't interfere in our work".

Alaric along with the three boys walked into the church, and Landon, despite Jayden's warning decided to follow after them.

"Shut down the exorcist, would you?" Alaric asked the boys.

"On it" Alec said, "Silenco", as soon as Alec said his spell, the father who was trying to exorcist the demon out of Rafael, his mouth had disappeared.

"Ad somnum" Jayden said, his spell causing the three people trying to exorcise Rafael, to fall to the ground unconscious.

"Help me" Rafael cried, as he slowly started to transform into a wolf, "What's happening?!".

"Oh my god" a shocked Landon whispered, not believing what he was currently seeing.

"Easy does it, easy now" Alaric said, as the group started chaining Rafael up.

Once Rafael was all chained up, Alaric and the three boys stepped back and watched as he transformed into a huge black wolf.

Mystic Falls, VA

"How do you three know each other?" a curious Alaric asked, as the group sat in his car and made their way to the Salvatore Boarding School.

"He tried to seduce Mia and Hope with his milkshakes" Jayden said, glaring at Landon who suddenly hated sitting in the middle of Alec and Jayden.

"I didn't try to seduce them" Landon defended, "I just danced with them".

"You tried" Asher corrected, "What happened that night wasn't dancing, it was an insult to dancing".

"I still can't believe he danced with both Hope and Mia and you two let him" a clearly unhappy Alec said.

"We tried to but Mom stopped us and Uncle Kol from interfering" Jayden remembered.

"Care Bear managed to stop dad?!" a shocked Alec said.

"It wasn't easy" Asher chuckled, remembering the numerous threats their godmother gave their adoptive father before he finally decided he wasn't going to murder Landon for dancing with his daughter and niece.

A confused Jayden looked at Landon, "Last I heard, you moved away".

"Last I heard, you were human" Landon retorted, "But last night, your friend made a door blow off its hinges with his brain, do you feel like explaining that?".

"No" Alec simply said.

"Ignore him" Alaric said, "We'll explain everything, we're almost there".

"Where are we going?" a confused Landon asked.

"Somewhere safe" Alaric simply said.

"For us" Asher added.

"Don't know about you" Alec said, suddenly making Landon feel very uneasy about the place they were taking him and his brother.

"Welcome to the Salvatore School" Lizzie Saltzman greeted Rafael, "We're your tour guides".

"I'm Josie" Josie introduced.

"I'm Lizzie" Lizzie introduced, "Sisters".

"Twins" Josie added.

"Fraternal, obvs" Lizzie clarified.

"Jo-Jo!" Alec yelled, rushing out of the car and pulling his best friend, Josie Saltzman, the biological daughter of Alaric Saltzman and Jo Parker, and the adoptive daughter of Rebekah Mikaelson-St. John.

Josie let out an amused chuckle and hugged her best friend, "Hey Alec" she greeted, while her sister rolled her eyes at the interaction, it was no secret that Lizzie Saltzman did not get along with the Salvatore triplets or the Mikaelson twins.

"I missed you, did you miss me?" Alec asked, breaking the hug.

"No" Lizzie stated.

"Oh hey satan, didn't see you there" Alec greeted Lizzie.

"Alec" Asher warned, stepping out of the car with everyone else.

"The satan himself has no right to call other people satan, Salvatore".

Asher and Alec turned around and Asher smiled seeing his girlfriend Nova St.John while Alec glared at her.

"Oh look whose here, the girl no one wanted to see" Alec taunted.

"Oh look whose speaking, the guy no one can tolerate" Nova retorted.

"You--".

"Alec" Josie interrupted, putting her hand on Alec's shoulder, "Please don't start, you're scaring the new students".

Alec looked towards Rafael and Landon, who were standing there very awkwardly, both too afraid to say anything.

"Ash" Nova smiled, rushing into the arms of her boyfriend, "I missed you".

Asher awkwardly patted Nova's back, "Missed you too Nova".

Jayden walked over to Alec, "Why is he always so awkward with her?".

"Because he doesn't love her" Alec replied.

"Then why is he with her?" a confused Josie asked.

"Two reasons, number one, he doesn't want to break dear old Nova's heart" Alec informed.

"And what's reason number two?" a curious Josie asked.

"Reason number two" Mia said, coming and standing next to Jayden, "Is that our older brother hasn't realised what love truly is and who his heart beats for".

Jayden, Alec, Josie, Mia and Lizzie looked towards Asher and Nova, just in time to see Hope walk behind Nova, she shook her head at Asher's interactions, and with signs, gestured for Asher to hug Nova properly, in return, Asher rolled his eyes but nonetheless hugged Nova properly, and then looked at Hope with an are you happy look and in response Hope simply smiled, but if you looked closely, you will see the heartbreak behind that smile.

Mia sighed, "I wish she would just tell him" she whispered to Jayden.

"Me too" Jayden whispered back, he then looked at Mia and a huge smile formed on his face, "By the way, hey".

Mia looked at Jayden and smiled at him, "Hey".

"Mad?" Jayden asked, knowing Mia didn't like it when her brothers left her out.

Mia shook her head, "Disappointed, again".

Jayden gave Mia a sympathetic smile, he opened his mouth to say something, but before he could, someone else did.

"Mia?".

Mia looked towards the voice and her eyes widened in shock seeing Landon, "Oh my god, Landon? What are you doing here?".

"Long story" Alaric said, before turning to Rafael, "Rafael, why don't you go ahead with the girls while I talk to Landon".

"Good luck" Alec mouthed to Josie.

"Thank you" Josie mouthed back, before her and Lizzie walked over to Rafael and took him away.

"So" Alaric said, turning to Landon, "Let's get started", Alaric looked towards Asher and Mia, "Mia and Ash, you're with me".

"Wait, why Mia?" Jayden asked, not wanting Mia anywhere near Landon.

"Because Landon knows her, he will be comfortable around her" Alaric said, "Right, Landon?".

"Right" Landon confirmed, smiling at Mia who gladly smiled back, immediately making both her brothers and Jayden frown.

"Okay, then let's go" Asher said, walking over to his sister and dragging her with him.

"Asher!" Mia yelled in annoyance.

Alaric shook his head at the two siblings but nonetheless him and Landon followed after him.

Once the four had left, Alec also walked away, leaving Jayden, Nova and Hope alone.

Seeing the angry expression on Jayden's face, caused Hope and Nova to exchange knowing looks, they walked over to him and looked in the direction Mia had gone in.

"You should tell her" Nova said.

Jayden looked at Nova in confusion, "Tell who what?".

"Tell Mia that you're in love with her" Nova stated.

"Yeah cause if you don't, Landon might" Hope said.

"Mia will never go for Landon" Jayden snapped.

Nova shrugged, "You don't know that Jay, just man up and stop worrying about the boys, worry about the fact that if you don't grow some balls, you're going to lose the girl to some newbie".

"And that will suck" Hope said, "Not just for you, but also for us, hell even for mom and dad, who are kind of rooting for you and Mia".

Jayden looked at his sister, "Mom and dad aren't only rooting for me and Mia" he reminded, making Hope look at him with wide eyes.

"What was that all about?" a confused Nova asked as Jayden walked away from the two girls.

"Don't worry about it" Hope simply said, before following after her brother.

Nova shook her head at the two siblings, "Weirdos".

Alaric, Landon, Mia and Asher entered the Salvatore Boarding House.

"I'm curious, Landon" Alaric started, before his eyes landed on some kids running down the corridor, "Slow down" he warned, "Were you aware of us when you lived here in Mystic Falls?".

"I knew Hope and Mia went to some fancy boarding school" Landon said, looking around the boarding school in fascination, "People in town said it was for troubled rich kids, I see the rich part is true", Landon stopped in his step when he saw a girl using her hands to float some books into the air, "Nobody in town mentioned anyone in here could do that".

"No one in Mystic Falls knows much about us" Alaric informed, as the group of four entered his office, "We blend in just enough, participate, contribute just enough, keeps people from asking too many questions".

"What is there to know, exactly?" a curious Landon asked.

Alaric looked towards Asher and Mia, both of them shrugged in response, letting him know he's on his own.

"Well, I used to have a speech prepared, carefully unpeeling the layers of mystical history, but it turns out most people have read Harry Potter and are actually cool with me skipping the tee-up" Alaric said, as Mia walked over to one of his side tables and picked up a photo frame, in the photo frame was her mother Aria Connor, later on knows as Aria Salvatore, with Alaric and her best friend Jeremy Gilbert.

"You're a school for magic?" a slightly shocked Landon asked, as Asher walked behind his sister and looked at the picture.

"I miss her" Mia whispered to her brother.

"I know" Asher whispered, kissing the side of Mia's head before staring at his mother's photo, the woman who he did everything for, all of Asher's actions, all of his decisions were so he could make both his mother and father proud.

"We are a school for the supernatural, which covers a lot of territory" Alaric clarified, "Everyone here has something that makes them special in ways that the outside world wouldn't understand".

"So, what are you?" Landon asked Mia.

As Mia put her mother's photo down, Asher glared at Landon, "I think it's time Mia gets to class" he told Alaric.

"No!" Landon suddenly yelled, making the other three look at him in confusion, "No, sorry, I don't mean to be a dick, but I don't know you two" Landon told Alaric and Asher before he turned back to Mia, "And though the image of your brothers whamming a priest is still fresh I need you here, just tell me what all that was in the church last night?".

"And how is she supposed to do that?" Asher asked, glaring at Landon, "She wasn't there genius".

Mia rolled her eyes at her brother's harshness, she shoved him back and stook a seat next to Landon, "What do you think happened last night, Landon?" she asked.

"Well, as best as I can reason, either I've lost my mind or werewolves are real" Landon replied, Mia looked at Alaric, who nodded his head, letting her know Rafael was indeed a werewolf, "This is beyond insane, how is that even possible?".

"It's a long story" Alaric simply said, "I have some questions about Rafael".

"Like what?" a confused Landon asked.

"Well, let's start with who he killed recently" Alaric asked.

"Ric!" Mia scolded.

"You really need better intro questions" Asher said, even he realised that wasn't an appropriate question.

"It's for the safety of our school, we can't enroll a serial killer" Alaric defended.

"We're the kids of a serial killer" Asher reminded.

"But you're not serial killers yourself" Alaric retorted.

"Yet" Asher and Mia said, causing Alaric to let out a exasperated sigh.

"Why would you ask me that?" Landon asked.

"The werewolf gene lies dormant until the carrier takes a human life" Alaric informed, "If Rafael triggered his curse, it's because he killed someone, and we don't accept cold-blooded killers into our program".

"He's not a killer" Landon defended.

"Landon, we're not--".

"He's not a killer" Landon repeated, interrupted Mia and standing up from his seat, in response Asher rolled his eyes and leaned against the wall, hating being here.

"Well, I know a little bit about his background" Alaric said, "Neglectful birth parents, orphaned in adolescence, six foster homes in seven years, prone to fits of anger".

"Yeah, you could just as easily be reading my file, that's what it's like out there for people like him and me" Landon stated.

Mia sighed, "Landon look, Ric clearly still needs to work on his questions" she said, glaring at her headmaster, "But he doesn't mean any harm but asking that question, he's just trying to help Rafael, me and my brothers were born here".

"Granted it wasn't a school back then" Asher added.

"But it still was a safe place for us" Mia continued, "And now it's a safe place for children like us, like Rafael, it's home to a lot of us, it can be his home as well".

"But, if we take him in, we need to make sure that he is not a threat" Alaric clarified.

Landon paced down the office, "His girlfriend" he finally revealed, "Cassie, last month, he was driving, there was a storm, he took a turn too fast, and then he started acting out, at first I thought it was just grief, and then maybe drugs or something, and then he threw a two hundred pound lawnmower fifty feet across the yard, that was when our foster parents called in the priest, I guess they thought he was possessed by the devil".

"The devil doesn't possess people, he makes them work for him" Asher informed, "Well he used to before our mother killed him".

"I'm sorry, what?" a shocked Landon asked.

"You had to tell him that now?" Mia asked her brother, who shrugged in response.

"All of that is consistent with a newly triggered wolf" Alaric told Landon, bring the conversation back to Rafael, "It's normal, thank you for that Landon, Mia?".

Mia looked at Alaric, who gestured towards Landon, Mia let out a sigh, she stood up from her seat and walked over to Landon, "Don't be scared Landon" she said, "You're going to be just fine, I promise".

"MG!" Asher called out, "We're ready!".

"Landon Kirby, Milton Greasley" Alaric introduced as a young man entered Alaric's office.

"Come on, Dr. Saltzman".

"Right, MG" Alaric corrected himself, "I'm sorry, take it from a guy named Alaric, I get it, Landon, MG is my student aide".

"Who happens to be a vampire" Mia informed.

"Of course he is" a overwhelmed Landon said, he then turned to Alaric, "You know, for a school with a secret to keep, you're kind of liberal with your information".

"Well, we don't actually intend for you to remember any of it" Alaric clarified.

MG walked over to a very confused Landon, he put his hand on his shoulder and started compelling him, "Forget everything you've seen or learned since last night, all you need to know is that your friend has found a home where he can live a better life, you'll miss him, but you know it's for the best".

"Are you three out of your minds?" Landon asked, shoving MG's hand off of his shoulder, "How could I forget any of this?".

"Do you not know how to compel people?" an annoyed Asher asked MG.

"I didn't do anything wrong" MG defended, "This is the easiest vampire trick in the book".

"That why didn't it work?" a confused Mia asked.

"How am I supposed to know?!" MG asked.

Landon tried to walk out the room but Asher quickly used his magic to throw him into the wall, knocking him unconscious.

"Are you serious?!" an angry Mia asked.

"Don't get angry at me, he was trying to escape" Asher defended.

"Okay, we need to get him to the cellar" Alaric said, interrupting the siblings argument before it could even begin.

"On it" MG said, walking over to Landon's body and dragging him out of the office.

"This is not good, this is bad" a panicked Alaric mumbled while Mia and Asher exchanged a look between them.

As soon as Landon gained conscious, he was immediately confused seeing himself locked in a cellar, without wasting a second he got off the bed in the cellar and walked over to the bars and started shaking them, after a moment he stepped back and started taking deep breaths, trying his best not to have a panic attack remembering the time one of his fosters parents had locked him up in a small dark cupboard before.

"Landon".

Landon turned around and breathed a sigh of relief, "Mia" he whispered, rushing over to her, "Can you get me out of here?".

Mia sighed, "I'm sorry Landon, I'm not allowed to, but don't worry, you're not a prisoner here, soon Ric will let you out".

"I'm in a witch dungeon" Landon snapped.

"Actually it's a werewolf transition space" Jayden clarified, appearing behind Mia.

"Super" Landon said, sarcasm evident in his voice.

"What are you doing here?" a confused Mia asked Jayden.

"Came to find you" Jayden informed, "You have a party to get ready for".

"I don't like parties" Mia retorted.

"Well suck it up, cause I promised Hope I'll bring you and my sister will kill me if I break a promise" Jayden said, grabbing Mia's wrist, "Come on".

"No, wait!" Landon yelled, grabbing Mia's wrist through the bars, "Don't go, I'm not so good with, you know, small spaces".

"Landon just relax, like I said, you won't be here for long" Mia promised, while Jayden glared at Landon's hand that was currently touching Mia, "It's just we weren't prepared for the fact that you couldn't be compelled".

"I don't know what that means" Landon snapped.

"Hey!" Jayden snapped, shoving Landon backwards, causing him to lose his grip on Mia's wrist, "Watch how you speak to her".

Mia put her hand on Jayden's shoulder, "Relax Jayden, he's overwhelmed".

"That's no excuse" Jayden stated, he looked at Landon, "She doesn't have to be here, if she wanted to she could have left you all alone but she didn't, she's here trying to make you feel better so the least you can do is treat her respectfully".

Mia sighed, "Landon, compelling someone means trying to erase or alter someone's memories, MG tried to do that to you, he tried to make you forget this place and everything you knew about supernatural beings, but as you could tell, it didn't really work".

"So now what, I'm a hostage?" Landon asked, "Where's Rafi?".

"Your brother is perfectly fine" Jayden assured.

"And so are you" Mia added, "Look, the only reason compulsion doesn't work on humans is if they take this herb called vervain, our town's sheriff has a habit of slipping it into people's coffee at the gas station you and boys stopped at this morning, it will take about a day for it to pass through your system, and then we'll let you go, but you just have to wait a day".

"Sure" Landon said, going back and sitting on the bed, "Yeah, no big deal, yeah, I'll just sit here alone in the witch dungeon with my thoughts".

"Werewolf transition cells" Jayden corrected, making Mia elbow him in the stomach.

"Not the time" Mia whispered, in response Jayden simply rolled his eyes.

"Would you, I mean, could you wait it out with me?" an hopeful Landon asked Mia.

"No" Jayden simply said.

"Jayden" Mia warned.

Jayden sighed, "Look Landon, I'm sorry for everything, I know this is all very overwhelming for you but Mia has somewhere else to be".

Before Landon or Mia could say anything, Jayden grabbed Mia's hand in his and pulled her along.

"Sorry Landon!" Mia yelled, she didn't bother arguing with Jayden, he was too stubborn to listen to anyone but himself.

Hope and Asher were on the docks by the lake, dressed up in their sports clothes and practicing their fighting skills.

"You didn't have to lock him in the cellar" Hope told Asher, Mia having told her about what happened with Landon.

"First of all, I didn't put him there, Ric did" Asher said, trying to punch Hope but the Mikaelson girl easily dodged the punch, "Second of all, where else was he supposed to go?", once again Asher tried to punch Hope but this time she stepped backwards, "Don't step backwards, block with your hand".

"I got it" Hope snapped, shoving Asher's hand away from her.

"Clearly" Asher said sarcastically.

"Don't use sarcasm with me" an annoyed Hope said.

"Concentrate Hope" Asher said. 

"I am concentrating" Hope snapped, she once again went to attack Asher, she tried punching Asher but the oldest Salvatore grabbed her wrist and turned her around, her back now to his chest with her wrist in Asher's hold, trapped on her chest.

"Clearly" Asher whispered into Hope's ear.

"Dimiterre" Hope suddenly said, her spell causing Asher to let go of her, fly a little bit in the air before doing a flip and landing on his back infront of Hope.

Asher, who laid on the ground, glared at the smug Mikaelson, without saying anything he waved his hand and suddenly Hope was pulled towards, once she was near him, Asher grabbed her by her forearms and pulled her on to the ground.

"Don't cheat with me, Hope" Asher warned, straddling Hope.

Hope once again used her magic to push Asher away from her, Asher laid on the ground, chuckling.

"Fine, I'll admit you, might be getting better" Asher admitted, laying properly on the deck, he put his arm under his head and looked up at the blue sky.

"Thank you" Hope said, coming and laying next to Asher.

Asher looked at Hope, a curious look on his face, "Why are you so worried about Landon?" he asked, "Do you have a thing for him or something?".

"I don't have things, you should know that" Hope said, staring up at the sky.

"I do know that" Asher clarified, "Which is why I'm confused with this new sense of worry".

"I never liked him like that, he was just a good friend of mine and Mia" Hope admitted, "He's normal".

"Good" Asher said, "You deserve better then him".

Hope looked at Asher, "Yeah?".

Asher looked at Hope, "Yeah" he repeated, making Hope give him a small smile, wondering if she will ever have the guts to tell him that she didn't want anyone but him.

Once Jayden had gotten busy with his werewolf buddies, Mia decided to go see how Landon was doing, she felt guilty for leaving him down in the cellar despite knowing that he doesn't like small places.

"Hey" Mia greeted, letting her presence known to Landon, who was sitting on the floor, his back leaning against the wall.

"Mia" a shocked Landon said, not expecting to see the youngest Salvatore again.

"Can't sleep?" Mia asked, sitting on the floor infront of Landon.

"Small spaces, you?" Landon asked.

"Guilt" Mia admitted.

"Guilt?" a confused Landon asked.

"You told me you don't like small spaces and I left you alone here" a guilty Mia said, "So I decided to come down and give you company".

"You sure your boyfriend won't mind?" Landon asked.

"My boyfriend?" a confused Mia asked, "What boyfriend?".

"The guy who came down here with you" Landon clarified.

"Jayden?" Mia realised, "Jayden isn't my boyfriend".

"Really?" Landon asked, "Because the way he was glaring at me seemed to me like I was hitting on his girlfriend".

Mia shook her head, "We're not together, Jayden's a good friend, he's my brothers best friend and my best friend's brother, that's it".

Landon nodded, "So change of subject, how about you tell me how your brothers and I'm guessing you as well, can move things with your mind".

"You sure ask a lot of questions, don't you?" Mia teased.

"Wouldn't you?" Landon asked.

"Definitely" Mia replied, Landon smile as he leaned his head on the wall, "What's with the smile?".

"I'm remembering the day we danced in the town square" Landon replied, "This guy who used to mess with me in school finally got what was coming to him, I'd had a good day", a small smile formed on Mia's face as she remembered that day, but it wasn't because of the dance her and Landon had, it was because of the moment she had shared with Jayden that night, "Just like me to crush on the girl with the most baggage".

Hearing Landon, the smile on Mia's face fell, "Um, I think I'm going to go find Hope".

"You know, you do that a lot" Landon said, as Mia stood up from the ground.

"Do what?" a confused Mia asked.

"Leave" Landon replied.

Mia sighed, "Look Landon, the only reason I'm down here is because you were dragged into something you should have never been dragged into and I didn't want you to get too overwhelmed, but I can't get close to you".

"Why not?" Landon asked.

"Another question" Mia said, before walking away from Landon.

After showing his face at the party that was happening tonight, Asher decided to go take a walk in the woods, him and his brother quiet liked walking under the night sky, according to their mother, they had gotten this trait from their father.

As Asher was walking in the woods, someone growling got his attention, turning towards the noise, a small smile formed on Asher's face seeing a familiar wolf making her way towards him.

"Hey, Hope" Asher greeted, kneeling down as Hope made her way over to him, both Hope and Jayden had triggered their werewolf curse back in New Orleans when a coven of witches tried to kill the triplets, claiming they were too powerful to exist, Hope and Jayden made their first kill to protect their best friends, to protect their family, "Rough night?".

In response Hope simply growled at the oldest Salvatore.

"I'm going to take that as a yes" Asher teased, he watched as Hope, still in her wolf form, walked behind a tree, after a moment, a human hand appeared from the tree, with a roll of his eyes, Asher took his jacket off and handed it over to Hope, who after wearing it, finally came out.

"What are you doing here?" a curious Hope asked.

"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" Asher retorted, "Didn't you force Mia to attend the party? And now you're ditching her?".

"I'm not ditching her" Hope snapped, "I got into an altercation with Lizzie, and Mia suggested that I transform to get rid of some of the anger".

"And did you?" Asher asked, "Get rid of the anger?".

"What do you think?" Hope asked.

"I think that since you're a Mikaelson, you can never not be angry" Asher replied.

"Exactly" Hope said.

Asher chuckled at Hope, but his chuckle immediately died when both him and Hope heard someone's footsteps coming towards them.

"Landon?" a shocked Hope said.

Asher glared at the human, "Who the hell let you out?".

"Uh, Josie" Landon informed.

"What are you doing here?" a confused Hope asked.

"Trying to run" Asher realised.

"Look, I swear I won't tell anyone about you guys or your school, just let me go" Landon pleaded.

"Nope" Asher stated, refusing to take that risk, "The only place you're going is back in that cellar".

Hope sighed seeing the miserable look on Landon's face, "Do you want a tour of our school?" she suddenly asked, making both Landon and Asher look at her.

"Really?" an hopeful Landon asked.

"No" Asher snapped.

"Yes" Hope retorted, "You don't want him to leave without being compelled, this way we can keep an eye on him and Landon won't have to go back to that cell".

"I hate this" Asher stated.

"I don't care" Hope said, giving her best friend a mock smile.

"Hands off!" Asher snapped, as he and Hope, now dressed up, entered the library in which Landon stood, his eyes on a knife that was on display.

"Sorry, I didn't, I mean, I wasn't--where are we?" Landon asked.

"The Damon and Aria Salvatore memorial library" Hope informed, glancing at Asher, who had a blank look on his face, Hope knew that as long as Landon was here, that blank look was going to stay, Asher didn't like showing emotions infront of strangers, "All the artifacts in here have a supernatural history".

"What's the story on this one?" a curious Landon asked, pointing towards the knife.

"No one knows" Asher replied, "But we do know that if we touch these, something bad will definitely happen, so hands off".

"Noted" Landon said, he then looked towards Hope, "I saw you turn into a werewolf, so I guess this means you're a werewolf, he said, casually".

"Me and Ash here, are a lot of things" Hope informed.

"Care to elaborate?" Landon asked.

"No point" Asher said, taking a seat on one of the chairs and putting his feet up on the table, "You'll forget everything tomorrow".

"Come on" Landon told Hope, "Humor me".

Hope looked towards Asher, wanting to know his opinion, in response Asher simply shrugged, "Your choice" he said.

"The blood that runs through mine and my brother's veins isn't human" Hope informed Landon, a book in her hand, a book written by Caroline and Rebekah in tribute to Damon and Aria, "Our dad is one of the earth's original vampires".

"My biological dad was a vampire as well, he wasn't an original but he did have quiet the reputation" Asher said, standing behind Hope and watched as she opened the book she brought and opened it to a page, Damon Salvatore, The Misunderstood Brother.

"Was?" Landon asked.

"Was" Hope confirmed, subtly slipping her hand into Asher's after seeing the way his jaw clenched seeing his father's name, other then his siblings, Hope was the only one who could see beyond Asher's stoic expressions.

Asher looked at Hope, who gave him a small smile, in return Asher gave her a small nod, he then turned to Landon, "Even immortal vampires can't escape death".

"Wait, Damon Salvatore, as in the man this library is named after?" Landon asked, Asher nodded his head in confirmation, "So does that mean that Aria--".

"Was my mother" Asher finished, "It's not just the library that was named after them, this whole school is a tribute to them, it was my mom's dream to have a place like this for her children, so my adoptive father, Kol Mikaelson, him along with Hope's parents, they built this place, wanting to fulfil the last wish of Aria Salvatore".

"Aria Salvatore" a small smiled formed on Hope's face as she remembered her godmother, "She was my godmother, she was the most powerful woman I'd ever met, Mia is the exact copy of her, even if she doesn't believe it, my mom Caroline Forbes--".

"Mikaelson" Asher corrected, "Caroline Forbes-Mikaelson".

Hope chuckled, "Caroline Forbes-Mikaelson, her and Ari were the bestest of friends, actually no, they weren't friends, they were sisters, dad always said that they were platonic soulmates", a suddenly emotional Hope cleared her throat, she didn't want to remember what Aria's death had done to her mother, "Um anyways, my dad wasn't just a vampire, he was also a werewolf, a hybrid and my mother Caroline, she's a vampire, and my grandmother was a witch, so, all of those things passed down, making me--".

"A unicorn?" Landon asked.

"A hybrid of three different creatures, tri-brid" Hope clarified, "I can control when I turn, which is what I was doing tonight".

"What about you?" a curious Landon asked Asher.

Asher looked at Hope, who gave him a small nod, Asher sighed, "Like I said, my dad was a vampire, but he also came from a line of psychics, and though he didn't get that gene, his sons did, my mother on the other hand was a tribrid, she was part witch, part banshee and part vampire, me and Alec didn't get the banshee gene, that was passed to Mia, we got dad's psychic gene, along with mom's magic and both our parents vampire bloodline, meaning me and my siblings are also tribrids".

"Yeah, see?" an overwhelmed Landon said, "Unicorn".

"Now that story time is over, let's go" Asher said, no longer in the mood to talk about his dead parents, "We need to get you back in that cellar before Ric goes into panic mode".

After locking Landon up in the cellar again and dropping Hope to her room, Asher made his way over to his and his brother's shared room, which also happened to be the old room of their parents.

Entering the room, a small smile formed on Asher's face as he saw Alec and Mia laying on Alec's bed, watching a movie on Alec's laptop.

"Brother" Alec greeted seeing his brother at the door, "Join us, we're having siblings night".

"What are we watching?" Asher asked, closing the door and then walking over to Alec's bed and laying on the other side of Mia.

"Take a guess" an annoyed Alec said.

"Since you are annoyed and Mia is so happy, I'm guessing it's some rom com" Asher said.

Mia smiled at her oldest brother, "We're watching High School Musical".

Asher looked at his brother in slightly shock, "How did you agree to that?".

"She complained to dad" Alec complained, having just gotten off the phone with their adoptive father, Kol Mikaelson.

"We both know Alec can never say no to dad" Mia laughed.

Asher chuckled, "No he can't".

Alec narrowed his eyes at his sister, "Shut up Mia, oh and just so you know we're not singing along to the songs".

"Oh yes we are" Mia stated.

Alec groaned in annoyance, "Mom should have just given birth to me and Asher".

"No, mom should have just given birth to me" Asher retorted, "It would have been amazing to be a only child".

"No, it would be boring" Mia stated.

"Like life isn't boring right now" Alec said.

"I don't why but I have a feeling things are about to change" Mia told her brothers, "I feel things are finally going to stop being boring".

Asher shrugged, "I don't mind a little bit of boring".

"Of course you don't mini, uncle Elijah" Alec teased.

Mia slapped her brother's shoulder, "Are you calling uncle Elijah boring?".

"No I am simply calling our brother a copy of him" Alec defended.

"Yeah but he has a bit of devil in him" Mia said.

"That is dad's genes" Alec said, "Mom gave all her goodness to you while we got dad's devilness".

Mia chuckled, "For the first time I agree with you".

Asher rolled his eyes at his siblings, "Are we starting this movie or not?".

"Of course we are" Mia said, pressing play on Alec's laptop.

Alec glared at his brother, "You just had to remind her".

In return, Asher simply hit the back of Alec's head.

"Ow!" Alec complained, rubbing his head while Mia and Asher simply gave each other a high five, their eyes stuck on the laptop infront of them, ignoring Alec's constant complaining.

Next morning, the Salvatore triplets, the Mikaelson twins and Nova, all met up and sat under a tree together, messing around and having fun when a panicked Alaric rushed over to the group and informed them of Landon stealing an ancient artifact from the school.

"How do you know it was him?" a furious Hope, as everyone stood up from their place.

"Ancient artifact goes missing along with too good to be true hapless human?" Alaric asked, "You do the maths, Hope".

"No" Mia said, shaking her head, "If what you're saying is true, that means Landon lied to me and Hope, that would mean that we trusted the wrong person".

"Mia--".

"No!" Mia interrupted Ric, "You don't get it Ric, the one time I go against my brothers and get to know someone and that someone turns out to be a liar!? That would mean that Alec and Ash have been right this whole time, I have no judgment of character, I can't be this stupid, Ric!".

"When he walked out that door, we compelled him to go home" Alaric informed.

"So?" a confused Hope asked.

"So he didn't" Alaric replied, "It's the first place we checked, and if he didn't go home, that means his memory wasn't erased, he was just pretending that it was, if his mind can't be controlled by a supernatural being, then that only means one thing--".

"That Landon is a supernatural being" Asher finished.

"Oh my god" Mia whispered, running her hand in frustration, "Oh my god".

Before Alaric could stop her, Mia had rushed away from everyone and Hope and Nova quickly ran after her to make sure she was okay.

Meanwhile, Asher, Alec and Jayden exchanged a look between them, a look that screamed that if they get their hands on Landon, then he is dead for breaking both Mia and Hope's trust.

Alaric stood at the podium, addressing all the supernatural students currently attending the Salvatore Boarding School For The Young And Gifted.

"For ten years we've gone undetected" Alaric addressed, "Protecting you, protecting our secret has been our singular mission, tonight I need your help to find Landon Kirby before he exposes us all".

Asher turned to Jayden who was sitting next him, "Tonight".

Jayden looked at his best friend and gave him a understanding nod.

"So, what's the plan?" a curious Jayden asked, entering Asher and Alec's room.

"Landon broke both Mia and Hope's trust" Alec reminded.

"So I'm aware" Jayden said, "What are we going to do about it?".

"We're going to track him" Asher stated.

"And then?" Jayden asked.

"And then we're going to kill him" Asher replied, making a smirk form on Jayden's face, a smirk that was eerily familiar to his father's when he planned someone's murder.

"So, whose ready for a bit of dark magic?" Alec asked.

Asher, Alec and Jayden sat on the floor, in a circle, with Jayden lighting a candle and Asher pulling out a rat from a box, a rat whose neck he snapped.

"That fact that you didn't even flinch doing that is concerning" Alec told his brother.

"You wouldn't have flinched either" Jayden retorted.

Alec shrugged, "True" he said, as Asher let the rat's blood fall on the grimoire between them.

"Is this going to work?" a slightly skeptic Jayden asked.

"Of course it's going to work" Asher replied, "Our magic doesn't fail".

"True" Jayden said.

The three boys linked their hands together and started chanting, as the wind around them picked up and the lights started flickering, the boys started seeing flashes in their heads.

"These are just flashes" Alec realised, his eyes still closed, looking at a image of Landon sleeping on a bus.

"Come on" Asher whispered, "Give me more".

"I saw it" Jayden announced, "Route 29".

"That's near the state line" Alec connected.

"He has the knife" Jayden realised seeing Landon pull out a knife from his jacket pocket, "But why is it glowing red?

"God knows" Asher replied, "But it can't be good".

The boys watched as the glow on the knife kept getting brighter and brighter, eventually it was so bright that it broke the boys out of their little trance.

"Okay, what the hell was that?!" Alec asked.

Next morning, Alaric and Asher met up with Sheriff Matt Donovan.

"Called in a favor with a buddy at state patrol, asked him to lock down the scene till we got here" Matt informed, "Local PD thinks it was a chemical spill".

"What's the actual story?" a curious Alaric asked.

"I'll leave that to you to figure out" Matt replied.

"All right, thanks sheriff" Alaric said, as he and Asher proceeded to check out the damage that Landon caused.

One thing I can't tolerate is when someone hurts my sister and my best friend. Hope and Mia thought that Landon Kirby was nothing but a innocent human that was at the wrong place at the wrong time who just needed a place to belong.

Alaric and Asher entered the bus and they were shocked seeing all the burned corpses, Asher clenched his hands into a fist, anger shown clearly on his face.

Turns out, they were wrong, Landon was no hero, he wasn't a innocent human either, he was a liar, he broke Mia and Hope's trust and when I find him, I'm going to rip him apart.
