Chapter 22: The Clicking Of Heels
POV: Aquarius
I heard it again. The empty halls echo with it. The paintings on the wall seem to rattle from the power of the sound waves. Glass cracks from it. I, myself, shake with fear.

It stopped. I sighed in relief. "Oh, I wouldn't relax just yet hon. You and I should have a little talk." A sickly sweet voice echoed through my ears. "Fine, what do you want?" I asked the voice.
I saw movement from the corner of my vision. I turned around and noticed my shadow. It has turned into a light pink nearly white color. It wasn't my silhouette either. This was a girl's.
I stumbled in shock. "Now, let's talk shall we?" A gap formed in the shadow where the mouth would be. "Who are you?" The gap widened as the shadow cackled, "Oh please, why would I bother with something as silly as names? I would just forget anyways!" It giggled.
"I just came here to say that you should get used to the heels, they're here to haunt you just like your regrets, just like your mistakes, just like the ghosts of your past. Well, I best be going, this spell is wearing off now, and imagine how uneventful this would become if you were to know who I was! Oh yeah, and don't even try to figure it out, you don't have any ides of who I could be. Tootles!"
The fake shadow vaporized into thin air. I was now looking at my own shadow, normal and blank. The clicking and clacking of the heels had faded for now. I finally got a good look at where I was. I wasn't dreaming, but I wasn't awake either. It was as if I was trapped in the in-between. I was somewhere, but nowhere.

I was going to g insane in here, and I had a feeling like that was what the shadow wants...
Oh God, I need to get out.
I started clawing at the walls, kicking at the floors, and throwing the pictures off the walls. After my freakout moment was over I decided to think rationally about this. What do I know? Well, I'm stuck in a long room-hallway thing and I have no way of getting out. And a shadow threatened me.
Wonderful.
The heels got louder and louder, but this time there was something mixed in with the sound. The high pitched giggles began to cloud my senses and I fell to the floor.
The giggles formed into words, "You can heal from physical pain, but when your mind breaks... you're done for. Good luck."
