Epilogue

(A/N: Quick note to say that this is the end of the story. Thank you for reading this far and I hope you enjoyed this silly little story. Warning: More detail in fluffy moments (in a sense like a lime but not))

Six years later~

"Oh dearie~ I'm back from Wildkat~" Joshua's voice rang out from the Shibuya River and I smiled as I heard his voice, my heart doing a back flip as I lounged in Dead God's Pad on one of the exquisite and fluffy white couches. My legs were crossed as I gingerly set down the glass I was holding on the table in front of me next to a bottle of opened wine, and turned towards where Joshua was casually walking up to me. He took off a fur lined winter coat he was wearing and set it on a coat rack as he adjusted his shirt, straightening it out. Joshua ran a hand through his slightly messy hair that he managed to pull off, giving him a handsome look in my opinion. His RG form had changed and was more mature and more grown up as he smirked at me and sat down next to me on the couch, wrapping his arm around my shoulders as he pulled me towards his torso that was as scrawny as ever.

"Am I allowed to know what you and Mr. Hanekoma were talking about?" I asked, snuggling into Joshua's side as I looked up into his violet eyes with a hopeful gaze.

"Hm, let me think... Nope," Joshua said, popping the 'p' as he buried his face into my hair, as a couple strands of his fell in front of my eyes. Reaching his other arm around me, he gently tugged me onto his lap as he cuddled my body in his arms, his warmth radiating off of him as I inhaled his scent that was left on the shirt he was wearing.

"Why do you not change your wardrobe? You seem to wear the same thing everyday," I said as I noticed he had his usual every day attire. The only difference was a coat that he now wore everywhere in the winter weather that was hung up on a coat rack at the end of the couch.

"Why do you not wear the same thing every day? I could see you wearing some of my clothes," Joshua said as he grabbed the hem of my shirt, tugging on it with what seemed to be a hint of playfulness. I huffed and placed my hand over the one that was messing with my shirt.

"It's called having a sense of style and staying with some trends. You're in Shibuya. How do you not know that?"

"I know of it. I just like to buy you clothes, that's all. You're a darling to dress up," Joshua answered as he held a hand on the side of my head, holding me close to his body as I leaned into his embrace.

"Thanks...? I don't know if that's a compliment or not," I answered truthfully as he giggled, making me sigh inwardly at whatever Joshua had planned, being as unpredictable as he was, and always has been for as long as I'd known him. Although, that didn't mean that I didn't mind that he was more comfortable around me.

I had found myself hanging out more at Dead God's Pad when his Reaper Officers were out and would wait for him as Neku continued to be his Conductor, just never there, which meant I didn't have to worry about him. Neku only was around here when a Game was going on, which wasn't often, thankfully. The Reapers' Game took its toll out on Joshua, reviving players who had survived... and there have been an unusual amount of players who have been surviving after every game, as if everyone in Shibuya whose been dying gained a sudden burst of energy and a commitment to stay alive.

"Take it however you wish dear~ But aren't you hot in that coat?" Joshua made a small hand gesture to the (f/c) winter woolen coat I was wearing. I shrugged and looked at the floor, watching the fish dash underneath the glass tiles, chasing one another endlessly in a never ending game of what could've been tag. "We could just take it off if you're getting too warm~" Joshua whispered into my ear causing my face to flush a nice shade of pink as he hands found their way to the buttons on the front of the coat and began to undo them as he gently pulled the coat off of my shoulders once he finished undoing the buttons. I shook the coat off my arms as Joshua threw the coat on the arm of the couch as it draped over the edge.

As I listened to the steady beat of Joshua's heartbeat that almost lulled me into a soothing sleep, I focused on what had happened over the six years after the ordeal with Nikolai.

The Higher Plane gave no information about where Nikolai ended up, but as long as I didn't have to see him again, I was alright with that. Joshua was more flirtatious than before, which might've been from dating him or from him 'growing up', or at least changing his RG form into a more mature one. Mr. Hanekoma remained the same barista, running Wildkat even though I had no clue how he was paying the rent for the place with how little customers he got. Most of which were me, Joshua, Neku, Shiki, Beat, and Rhyme. The latter four all grew up as well, Neku working in the music industry (taking college classes online), Shiki as a seamstress (who was going to college with Eri), Beat who hadn't gotten a job yet, and then Rhyme, who was finishing up high school at the same school Neku and the others went to.

Luckily for them and the rest of Shibuya, Joshua's decided that Shibuya has grown more than it has in a long time and is impressed with it and the Game's being held there.

I was brought out of my thoughts as I felt Joshua lean down and plant a soft kiss on the edge of my lips. My lips curved upward into a smile as I turned my head as Joshua cupped my cheek, leaning in as he kissed lips this time. Placing a hand on his chest, I melted into the kiss with passion as Joshua's other hand supported my back as his hand nestled in my hair as he pulled away and left a trail of kisses along my neck as I played with the ends of his hair, before resting my hand on the back of his head. His warm breath on my neck sent chills down my spine, while sent a feeling of what was like excitement throughout my body that I didn't quite understand.

I felt my back be set on the soft surface of the couch as Joshua's hand held my wrist in a firm grip, pinning it at my side, while his other hand held my my other arm above my head. He had me pinned down as his legs straddled my body, like he wanted to be sure that I couldn't move away from him. Joshua's violet eyes still held a playful look, that had a devious glint to them at the same time, causing a nervous but jubilant feeling to course throughout my body as he leaned down towards my neck as I felt him nip at the skin on it lightly causing a gasp to escape from my lips as he planted butterfly kisses along it and trailed down to my collarbone as his touch was electrifying, and soft at the same time. A weird sensation ran throughout my body as I shifted my legs from the pleasant feeling of Joshua's lips.

It seemed to be forever before Joshua stopped kissing my neck and lifted his head, pecking my lips. I tried to move my hand only for Joshua's grip to tighten on it as he leaned down to my ear.

"Do you really want to know what I was talking about with Mr. Hanekoma?"

The sudden question was off topic and threw me off as I opened my mouth to speak and found myself nearly speechless. I took a deep breath and just nodded my head slightly and Joshua seemed to get my point as he let out a thoughtful hum and let up on my wrists, allowing me to bring a hand up to my neck as I ran my fingers gently over the skin.

"I was just getting his permission for something I wanted o do, nothing too important to worry your pretty little head over," Joshua said, causing my mind to be filled with even more questions than before. Permission for what? Did it have something to do with me? Is that why he isn't going to tell me? All these questions caused my head to hurt so I tried to push them out of my head.

"But... I thought you weren't going to tell me," I managed to say. Joshua smirked as a giggle left his lips causing me to gulp as I backed out from under him and leaned against the arm of the chair as Joshua sat next to me. As I tried to sit up on the couch, a wave of dizziness hit my head as I placed a hand and felt myself falling forward. I flailed my arm in front of me and felt my body be stopped before I hit Joshua from collapsing onto him as he steadied my body with his arm across my chest. He held me as if afraid I was going to die or break, like a porcelain doll as he laid me down, onto his lap as I shifted my body on his legs, trying to find a comfortable position as his hand played with my hair as the other was rested across my stomach, holding me down.

"What was that dear? You sat up so abruptly that if I blinked, I would've missed it," Joshua said. The dizziness had stopped as I placed a hand on my stomach, brushing his arm slightly.

"I just sat up so quickly I made myself busy, that's all. Were you worried?" I asked with a smirk similar to one he always wore.

"Dear," Joshua said as he brushed a stray piece of hair out of my face, "I'm always worried for you and I hope you feel the same. Do you remember what I mentioned earlier?"

I thought hard about it but nothing struck a chord in my head that would stand out.

"That you were at Wildkat?" I questioned. Joshua shook his head, patiently waiting for me to give him the correct answer. "That you think it's hot in here....?"

"It's probably not the temperature making it hot in here. You seemed to be enjoying yourself a few minutes ago, were you not?" Joshua asked with a small giggle as he watched my face heat up remembering those moments.

"I-I remember...," I said and looked to the side and bit my lip. Joshua looked at me expectantly.

"And did you enjoy it?"

"W-What's with these questions?!"

"Stalling isn't going to help you," Joshua cooed as I felt him tighten his arm around my waist. "I can keep you here all day if I don't get a answer which is fine with me. I don't mind this~"

I shifted slightly from the uncomfortable position I was in and felt Joshua lift me into his lap as he wrapped his arms around me in a more secure way, preventing any way I had of moving away from him as it was clear he was going to hold me there with my arms pinned at my sides. Joshua tilted his head into my vision as I quickly glanced away from his eyes and looked down, allowing my hair to slightly cover my face.

I mumbled an answer as Joshua hummed.

"What was that?"

"I said that I... I said that I did like it...," I whispered as Joshua embraced me closer to his body as I felt him smile into my hair. "And how about my question before?" Joshua asked, still seeming to want an answer for that. I strained my memory to think and a thought popped into my mind.

"You said that you like to buy me clothes and... dress me up?" I said with some uncertainty on the last part.

"That's what I was expecting you to say next. Well, I guess I can do it now," Joshua mused. Confused, I was about to ask him about it when he scooped me up in his arms and stood up, as I panicked, thinking I was about to drop onto the floor and quickly wrapped my arms around Joshua's neck as he adjusted me in his arms and walked towards the back where the hidden door to the Room of Reckoning was, but took a right and entered a hallway that only Joshua seemed to be able to access, as I felt him shift through the UG and then back to the RG at the beginning of it.

"I didn't know this area was here," I said as I looked up at Joshua who smirked down at me.

"That's because I didn't want anyone to find it. It's like a Composer only area. This is usually where I stay when I'm here."

Joshua came to a door and opened it as he pushed it open with the kick of his foot and we entered a bedroom. It smelled like Joshua.

"Is this your room?" I asked. Joshua hummed and set me down on the bed as he turned his back and started rummaging through a drawer on a plain white dresser causing my heart to race in anticipation. He threw a light gray shirt at me which I caught in my hands and recognized to be one of Joshua's shirts. Before I could say anything, Joshua beat me to it.

"Try that on. I'd love to see what you look in some of my clothes. I want to know if my assumption was correct." I stared at him dumbfounded for a moment before realizing what he said and was about to say something back at him only to stop myself.

"You know, I was about to say 'how would you like it if I told you to try on my clothes', then realized that you actually would. Besides, you're looking. Isn't there a bathroom or something?" I asked, not wanting to change in front of Joshua of all people. I didn't bother asking why he wanted me to wear his shirt, as he just did what he wanted. And one of those things he loved to do, was go shopping with me and buy out the entire store of outfits he likes and gets them for me, despite how much I don't want him to keep buying me things.

"I won't look," came Joshua's reply in an innocent voice as he covered his eyes and turned around. I looked around and saw another door but Joshua was in front of it, looking at it. I looked at the shirt in my hands and felt how soft it was before I finally slipped off the shirt I was wearing as quickly as I could and put on the shirt Joshua threw at me. It was a little big and as I buttoned it up, I left the top button undone, as I didn't want to choke.

"I knew you'd look great in it," Joshua said as I saw that he was turned around. Immediately I grabbed my shirt which was lying on his bed and balled it up as I threw it at him. Joshua easily caught the shirt as I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Were you watching me?" I accused as Joshua rolled his eyes and walked over to me and knelt down on the floor. His actions were off right now, as if there was something he wished to tell me, but didn't know how.

"Not the entire time," he mumbled. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw his hand set something down onto the floor, but I couldn't see what it was. "But I do... have something to say to you." I raised an eyebrow as Joshua cleared his throat, nervous about something.

"Hm? What is it?" I asked, curiosity gnawing at me.

"Well, for starters, I must say. You're one of the only people that puts up with me, which has to be a trivial thing to do. You must have wanted to bite my head off or slap me at one point or another. Everyone who meets me wants to," Joshua paused and I cut in.

"A part of me wants to slap you for looking while I was changing."

"And you can do that later as many times as you so desire. But, I realize that I'm probably just this snobby, prissy person who you for some reason hung out with for most of your life. And the patience for that must come from you being an Angel. But you've made me feel less lonely than this Composer job has made me, as it limits my contact with most people. I feel... what's the word? Special... Honored... to be around you and be able to have what I do now." My heart beat faster as I held my hands over my heart at my chest, having a feeling of where this was going. Joshua cleared his throat again and reached down, revealing a small black box that he opened to reveal an elegant diamond that rested on a silver ring. Tiny diamonds decorated the ring as it was almost too elegant to look at. I held my hands over my mouth as my eyes widened, tears threatening to fall from all the emotions I was feeling. "So... Will you do me the honors of being my wife?" Joshua seemed anxious as I saw him take in a deep breath, ready for a rejection as I leaped towards him, wrapping my arms around his neck as I hastily kissed his lips, feeling him nearly be knocked over and reach behind him to balance himself.

Joshua placed his hand on my neck and kissed back with as much passion and deepened the kiss as he cupped my cheek, moving his lips in sync with mine as I felt his hand mess with my hair. He sat up as I was still on top of him and I pulled away, smiling widely, ecstatic at the question.

"Are you kidding me?! Of course I'll be your wife!" I said as Joshua cupped my hand in his and slid the ring onto my ring finger. I held my hand up and looked at the ring, watching the beautiful gems glisten in the light from the room.

"I had a feeling that was what you were going to say," Joshua said. I placed a hand on my hip as I sat down, still straddling his body as I poked his chest.

"Then that must be why you were so nervous talking right?" I teased him as I stood up and offered a hand to him, which he took. Joshua's eyes glanced down towards my chest as he smirked, ignoring my teasing statement.

"I like it better when you wear my shirt that way."

I looked down and saw the couple buttons at the top of the shirt were unbuttoned, showing part of my cleavage as my face heated up.

"W-When did you do that?!" I crossed my arms over my chest to block his view as Joshua smirked and walked up to me as he set his lips on mine and held my body to his with an arm that had found its way around my waist as my legs seemed to go weak at the knees still, even from all the years he had done this. I basically leaned onto his body for support as I placed my hands on his chest, trailing a hand down his exposed chest. Joshua had licked my bottom lip and I opened my mouth, allowing him to deepen the kiss, as he pushed me onto the bed, brushing the shirt I was wearing earlier aside. Before he went any farther, he pulled away, gasping for breath as he stood up. I noticed an alarm clock on a nightstand and saw that it was past midnight.

"It's late isn't it? And we've had a busy night already. Lots of important things happened, hm? I already know that you want to tell the others so we'll do that another day. For now, we should get some rest," Joshua said. I nodded and crawled underneath the covers of his bed, as Joshua crawled in after me, wrapping his arms around me. While his arms were around me, I felt a sense of comfort as it seemed like nothing would ever break this moment.

As I closed my eyes, curled up to Joshua as I felt a chill, I failed to notice the orange phone that was held up, snapping a photo to treasure this moment, that would never be forgotten in my memory. And even if someone took away my memories, I knew that I'd always find my way back to Joshua, no matter what happened.

Nothing would be able to drive us apart, as close as we already were.
