❝Is Everything Alright?❞

Sashimi and Youngchu were sent to the kitchen around 8:30 in the morning to start making breakfast for everyone in the house. A couple others were seen also up and walking around the house as the two cooked.

Sashimi yawned while pulling the eggs out of the fridge. "An hour longer of sleep would've been amazing," she joked, cracking an egg.

Youngchu was whisking a bowl with a distant and distracted look. When Sashimi talked, she briefly snapped out of the trance to give a short chuckle, but then fell back into it. Sashimi noticed this behavior and grew a bit concerned for her cooking partner.

   "Is everything alright?"

Before Youngchu could answer, Yuta entered the kitchen area. He grabbed an apple off the counter, tossed it in the air, and perfectly caught it. "She's a little drained this morning. You know, with all that yelling she did on the phone last night. Was that your boyfriend, again?" Yuta took a bite out of the crisp apple.

Youngchu shot him an irritated look. "Why are you up and about at this time today when you slept in so late yesterday? Maybe you should get a start on your chores while we're making breakfast." She sharply exhaled, looking back down at the pancake batter she was mixing. "Anything to get out of my hair," Youngchu muttered.

Yuta let out a breathy laugh while leaving the area, taking another bite of the apple.

"Are you actually okay with your boyfriend?" Sashimi asked. "Because all the yelling doesn't seem like a very healthy relationship."

"Oh, then you should see what it's like when we're actually together in person." Youngchu's voice dripped with sarcasm. She felt a clenching in her chest as she spoke and didn't dare look up from the batter. "I know it's not a healthy relationship. I know that I'm in a bad place with him, but I can't let it go. I don't know how, especially with him being so determined to keep me locked in. I feel like a prisoner."

Youngchu fought back with all she could to keep her eyes from tearing up in front of someone. She's never let out her true feelings about her relationship before, but for some reason, this group has been making her feel like she can let loose a little more.

"You don't have to be against him by yourself, you know?" Sashimi told her. "Don't let him control you."

Youngchu sniffed and rubbed her face with her sleeve. She gave a couple of short nods before focussing back on the food.

Breakfast was served an hour later when everything was made and set out on the table. The table was no longer as awkward as it was during previous meals. Right after eating, the cleaning crew decided to start vacuuming and dusting. Junhyun, Jiyeon, and Jaein all split into different rooms to work on, ending in the open kitchen area that was attached to the living room together. They took turns playing their favorite songs and introducing each other to them.

Overall, they got along very well. Even cracking a few jokes here and there. Sicheng and Mark moved in to start mopping when the three were done. Before leaving the room, Jaein stopped at the doorway, noticing one of the boys in the group was missing.

Down the hall, Haechan was walking to the living room. The third of the mopping group. He spotted Jiyeon while passing, giving her a sly smile and nod. Jiyeon rolled her eyes and kept turned away from him.

"Hey," Haechan greeted Sicheng and Mark as he entered the area. "So, can I skip out on today? I'll pay you both back later. I promise."

"I mean, we have a lot to do. Plus, we also have to wipe down surfaces. It's not hard, but it'll take some time." Mark looked around the room.

"I knew I could count on you, Mark." Haechan gave him finger guns before walking off. Jaein watched Sicheng and Mark as they had looks of confusion.

Weighing the situation, Jaein shrugged and stepped back into the room. "I can help out if you need me to," she offered.

Sicheng and Mark glanced between each other, before Sicheng finally answered in a small voice. "S-sure." A smile surfaced on his face.

Jaein grabbed a washcloth to wipe surfaces while the two boys mopped. Jaein reached a corner with a high shelf. There wasn't a chair nearby to stand on, so she tried to reach up and clean the surface. However, her height limited her ability. She slumped her shoulders, about to take defeat.

"Let me?" WinWin asked, pointing at the rag in her hands. "I-I can reach."

Jaein gave the cloth to the tall boy, who could wipe the surface with ease. "I should probably mop," Jaein said with a small laugh. "Your height would be better to clean surfaces. I'm just short."

"D-don't worry," Sicheng told her. "I'll reach for you."

Jaein felt a sudden feeling of shyness. She smiled and bent her head down for a second, then looked back up to him, focusing on his bright eyes. Bright eyes that covered the boy's awful past. "Thank you, WinWin."

Their eye contact was ripped apart as the support group leaders and a couple other people went running out onto the deck. "Boys! Cut it out!"

Sicheng, Jaein, and Mark peeked out the window to see Jonghyun and Jaehyun trying to grab ahold of Taeyong and Yuta. They both had expressions of rage and disheveled hair, along with Yuta having a bloody nose. Yuta threw a punch at Taeyong, landing it on his jaw. Taeyong held the side of his face while trying to swing at Yuta, but Jaehyun and Jonghyun were finally able to hold the two back.

"What's gotten into you both?" Jonghyun asked with a stern tone.

"Why don't you ask Osaka over there?" Taeyong growled while giving a nod in Yuta's direction.

"Me? Why not yourself, tough guy?" Yuta let out a laugh, flicking his messy hair away from hanging over his eyes.

"I don't care who you say we should be asking because you both have explaining to do," Haeun told the two boys, trying to stay calm. "Let's take this to the dining room."

Jonghyun and Jaehyun escorted the two agitated boys inside.
