Chapter 3
At the exact same moment Sugawara realized this, someone burst open the gym door. It flew open with a loud clang, and Iwaizumi Hajime from Aoba Joshai and Tendou Satori from Shiratorizawa stood in the doorway. He stared at the two in shock.
"What are you doing here?!"
"I could ask you the same question. Look at the time."
Iwaizumi was right. Looking at the clock, Suga could see that it was very late. He should've been home by now. "I don't know," he answered truthfully, "The last thing I remember is walking into the gym for practice."
"What a coincidence," Iwaizumi responded, "That's the last thing I remembered, too."
"What about...was it Tendou-san?"
"Just Tendou is fine."
"What about Tendou?"
"He was in a closet. Oikawa didn't see him."
"What does Oikawa-san have to do with this?"
Iwaizumi exhaled a little bit. "I don't know how, but he has something to do with this. He's behind all of Seijoh and Shiratorizawa missing, other than me and Tendou, and Kageyama."
Suga felt a pang in his chest. "But why were we spared?"
"I don't know. My best guess is he took everyone he saw as a threat."
Ennoshita hit Tanaka on the head to stop him from thrashing Iwaizumi. "So, what of it?" He asked.
"I'm not sure..."
"Ennoshita."
"I'm not sure, Ennoshita."
"Do we find him?"
"I don't know how we'd do that."
Daichi was opening his mouth to say something when the room suddenly got noticeably colder. Suga moved to shut the gym doors, but the second he did, Oikawa appeared.
No, Iwaizumi thought, this isn't Oikawa. This person is...sinister. Before he knew it, the question made its way out of his mouth.
"Why?"
It was a stupid thing to say but...this Oikawa responded nevertheless.
"They were stronger than me. Now, I'm stronger than them."
"What-where are they?"
Oikawa snapped his fingers and a map appeared at his feet. "I doubt you'll make it," he said, "Even if you try as hard as you can. But I can tell you want to try, so go. Try."
"Oikawa-"
"The old Oikawa is gone. He's been replaced by someone stronger."
"What's strong to you?!"
Iwaizumi lunged at him, but Tanaka and Asahi held him back. Oikawa chuckled.
"Wise move, you two. I suggest you never do that again. Unless you want to feel my wrath. I've changed, Iwa-chan."
Iwaizumi stepped back and fell silent. Tendou was hiding behind Sugawara, and Oikawa turned on the spot, muttering something about needing to find a certain red-haired middle blocker from Shiratorizawa. Thankfully, Daichi had also stepped in front of Tendou, who was curled up behind them, unnoticed by the Great King, who disappeared in a flash.
