Chapter 1

It had all started that fateful day.

Oikawa had been acting...off...the entire day. Assuming he was sick and was practicing anyway, Iwaizumi went over to him to give him a good scolding.

"Hey! Oikawa!"

"What."

The hardness in his tone discouraged the other slightly, but Iwaizumi still pushed on.

"Are you okay?"

The boy's tone was soft, unusual for him. He was usually yelling, or at least speaking in a harsh tone, especially to Oikawa. Something was wrong, and Iwaizumi knew it.

"I'm fine."

Oikawa spat the words at the ravenette, who flinched a little despite himself. The words bit into him, and seemed to take a hearty chunk out of his spirit. But alas, he continued to push.

"Are you sure? You-"

"I said I'm fine."

"You don't look fine."

Oikawa's eyes seemed to flare up with anger, and he stalked towards his ace, who had never seen him this angry. Not even in a game. Not even when they lost to Shiratorizawa, or to Kageyama.

"I told you."

Iwaizumi stepped back.

"I'm fine!"

A shock seemed to ripple across the gym as Oikawa shouted the last word.  That was the last Iwaizumi remembered.

He woke up to an empty gym. It seemed to be dusk, as the gym was beginning to get dark and when checked, the sky was dulling from a brisk orange to a dreary blue.

Where is everyone?

Where is Oikawa?

Is his phone on him?

Iwaizumi whipped out his phone, relieved to find it was still there, and began to punch in the digits to call his friend. As soon as he hit the send button, he heard a vibration from the gym closet. Racing there, he flung open the door.

The phone was lying in the middle of the floor, the screen cracked. It was vibrating, and the screen showed his nickname.

"Iwa-chan."

Iwaizumi choked back a sob and ran to his house, vision blurring, but not giving up hope. The bell echoed through the house, and his parents opened the door.

"Is Oikawa here?"

"He said he was staying at the Shiratorizawa gym for the training camp with everyone else."

"Oh, thank you."

The door shut and Iwaizumi's hopes died. If Oikawa was gone, and his team was missing, then-

Maybe they'd be at Shiratorizawa. It wasn't much of a lead, but he had to check.

He had to find Oikawa.
