Chapter 43
Zak POV
I sat down in my chair in front of the Devil for the third day. "So today I want to get to know you better." Dr. Owen said.
"Okay." I said. I don't know if I should be worried or not. What does he mean by "get to know me"? Does he mean just things I like to do or more personal stuff?
"Since we were talking about shows yesterday let's start from there." He said, "Do you typically like to watch bloody shows?"
I know exactly where this is going. He's asking this because he thinks I'm the type of person who likes watching gruesome things. People say it because of my 'bloody past'. I don't get it, there are a lot of people who watch things like that, they're completely normal. But guess I'm not normal.
"I don't watch what you like to call, 'bloody shows' it's just they have more action than most shows." I said.
He nodded and wrote on his clipboard. "So what is your hobby?" He asked me, going completely off topic.
"Skate boarding." I said.
He smiled, "That's cool. Did you ever get an injury while skate boarding?"
"Once or twice." I replied. How is this relevant?
"Did it hurt when you injured yourself?" He asked.
I'm confused, what does he mean did it hurt when I got injured? Is he stupid?
"What do you mean 'did it hurt when you injured yourself'? Of course it fucking hurt." I snapped.
"Interesting."
This guy has mental issues. How is it interesting when someone tells you it hurts when they get injured? This guy hurts my brain.
14000000 brain cells officially lost.
I looked at the time, there was only a few minutes left.
"So it hurt when you injured yourself when you were skate boarding. How about when your dad beat you everyday?" He sneered.
I stood up from my chair causing my chair to fly backwards.
"Are you insane? What's wrong with you? You little-"
I was literally about to lose it. How could he say something like that?
Darryl burst into the room probably hearing these commotion. "What going on?" He asked.
"Zak freaked out for no reason. I didn't even say anything then he just got up and began to yell." Dr. Owen said.
"No, he's lying. That's not wh-"
Darryl cut me off before I could finish, "We're going home."
He grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the room. As soon as we were outside he stopped walking and turned to me, "Whats wrong with you?"
"I'm trying to get you help and you won't cooperate for one second!" He yelled.
I felt my eyes starting to tear up.
Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry.
He continued, "He didn't even say anything and you freaked out!"
"He did say something! He's lying, I know what I heard. I'm not crazy." I exclaimed.
Am I crazy?
No.
I know what I heard.
Dr. Owen was lying.
"Yeah well Zak, you seem a little crazy." Darryl said. Then he turned and began to walk to the car.
I began to walk the other direction. When Darryl didn't hear my footsteps behind him he back turned around, "Where are you going?"
"Away from you." I yelled.
This probably isn't a good idea.
But maybe Darryl's right. Maybe I am a little crazy.
Crazy isn't always a bad thing.
