Chapter 4
(Jack's P.O.V.)
It's early afternoon, 2:30 or so. I haven't done much today, I mean, I recorded and edited a video, it was uploaded earlier. That's pretty much it. Mark hasn't done much today either. He went out for a bit, wanted to meet with Matthias to talk about a challenge they were planning to do at some point, got back home a little while ago. That was pretty much it. We've just been hanging around.
"Hey, you wanna put on a game?" Mark asks, heading into the room.
I'm about to reply with a sure when "Jack I want to talk to you..." I hear Anti and I decide it's probably better to fulfill his requests. I stand up.
"Actually I think I'm gonna go on a walk." I say.
"Want some company?" Mark asks. I shake my head.
"I'd like to be alone. But thanks anyways." I say, walking out the door.
I walk to the nature preserve pretty much right across the street from Mark. Convenient. I start walking on a trail, sighing. I do love the outdoors, which is funny considering I'm being payed to do something I REALLY love, which is play games on my computer all day. But getting out and taking a walk in a nature preserve, or just in a forest in general, or a field, is nice. We have lots of fields in Ireland... The forest-y areas of the west coast here are different to some degree. Especially in Washington, jeez they've got trees there.
"Stop distracting yourself. I want to talk." Anti says and I sigh. Of course, ruin this beauty for me.
"What?" I ask out loud. I don't know how to talk in my head, I'm afraid he'll hear my thoughts if I learned how too. So I just avoid it all together.
"Jack why don't we work together? You and me? Ruling it all?" He asks. I scowl.
"Cause you are evil and hurt people, I'm good and I help people. Those two things don't work together very well." I say. I really hope I don't pass anyone here, they'll think I'm crazy. Which, I guess, to some degree I kind of am.
"We really aren't that different Jack. I am you after all." He says. I shake my head.
"No you aren't. We are completely and utterly different." I say. Anti chuckles.
"Keep telling yourself that..." He says. I frown, and it's silent for a minute. I actually have a question for Anti... Wow I have a question for Anti. Whew.
"Anti, why do you never do anything bad to my YouTube? Like, when you come out, why don't you give me a bad rep or something?" I ask. Anti scoffs.
"Cause I have no interest in your YouTube channel. I mean, yes, I could get rid of all your subscribers and you'd be sad. But what would that be if I got rid of, say, Mark? Or Bob? Wade maybe?" He answers. I frown.
"I hate to say this, but I'm still confused." I say. I know I'm playing it stupid, but I'm tired, okay? Anti laughs a bit.
"Oh I didn't hold much hope for you." He says. I scowl but say nothing. "Jack if I got rid of your subscribers it'd be sad, yes, you wouldn't have your fanbase. But if I got rid of your friends, your REAL friends... You'd be completely alone. You'd go insane. You'd finally give into me... And we'd finally get along..." He says.
I freeze. He... He plans to get rid of all my friends? That's his plan? "I don't care what I have to do... I don't care how much I have to hurt myself... I don't care if I have to kill myself... I will never ever let you do that..." I say in a scary low voice. Anti chuckles.
"I like it when you threaten. It just makes me see more of me in you." He says. I keep moving.
"I wasn't joking. I will kill myself if that's the length I need to go to to protect my friends, my family, and get rid of you." I say, and I think Anti gets the message. He's quiet. I know he won't abandon his plan, he never does. But I wasn't lying, I am completely serious about this. I just hope it never goes to that extent... Knowing Anti though... It very, very possibly will...

It's about seven and I'm just now getting back to Mark's house. After my threat to Anti I just needed to walk alone, in peace. And then I got lost. Thanks to a really nice park ranger (who happened to be a fan), I'm back here!
"Dude! You were gone for four hours!" Mark exclaims when I walk in the door. I roll my eyes.
"What? Were you worried about me?" I ask, meaning for him to say no. But...
"Actually, yeah. I tried calling you but you wouldn't answer, I didn't know where you went so I couldn't pick you up, and four hours is a long time." He says. I stare at him with wide eyes. He was legit worried about me? Wow... That actually makes me really happy.
"Well thanks for the concern, but I'm fine. I just got lost, that's all. And I was at the nature preserve, all the trees must've been blocking my cell signal." I say, chuckling. Mark nods.
"Okay. Just, tell me where you go out next time okay? There are some shady people out there." He says. I nod.
"I can take care of myself Mark. But thanks." I say, smiling. He smiles too.
"Well in all that time you were gone, I made dinner." He says, leading me into the kitchen.
"Wait, did you actually make dinner?" I ask. Most of the time we just get carry out. Mark chuckles.
"Well I needed to do something other then worry." He says. My smile grows and no matter how hard I try it refuses to come off. I look at what Mark made.
"Wow." I say, staring at food. Mark made some sort of lasagna, salad for a side, and some sort of sorbet.
"So the salad is just a simple Caesar salad, nothing special there. The lasagna is a Vegetarian Four Cheese Lasagna, made with cheese, tomatoes, pumpkin and eggplant for the special flavors. The sorbet is a strawberry sorbet made with strawberries I found in my fridge and strawberry ice cream base." Mark explains. I just stare.
"This is... Above and beyond what I expected..." I say, not being able to take my eyes away.
"Yeah..." He says softly. It's silent for a second. "So, based off the way you're eyeing the food, I'm gonna take it you're hungry." He says then. I chuckle.
"Now I am." I say. Mark laughs in response and tells me to sit at the table. I do just that. He comes to the table then with two plates, each looking exactly the same, with lasagna and salad on it. He puts one plate in front of me, one in front of where he's gonna sit, and then goes back into the kitchen. He comes back with two bottles of Coca-Cola and gives me one, sitting down afterwards.
"And now, we try it." He says. He stares at his plate and I stare at mine.
"It's so pretty though..." I say, complimenting Mark's amazing plating skills. He laughs.
"Well thanks. You try first." He says, watching eagerly. I roll my eyes, grabbing my fork and trying some of the lasagna. As soon as the food enters my mouth I know that this will be the best dinner I've ever had.
"Oh my god, Mark, this is amazing." I say, immediately going for more.
"Yay!" Mark says, trying some for himself. "Oh. This is pretty good." He says and we continue eating food. This has been a fairly good day. I hope the rest of my trip is like today.
"I can feel your hope. Keep it up. I'll enjoy crushing it..." I know it's a threat from Anti, I know he's serious, but right now... I don't care. All I want to do is enjoy this amazing dinner with my best friend, who I just so happen to have a crush on. Yay...
