Sonic's P.O.V.
I fell on the floor and broke down, hoping that I was soon going to wake up from this awful nightmare and see Shadow by my side.

"Why me...?!" I repeated as I cried loudly. "What did I do to deserve this?!"

I felt two hands rubbing my back. "It's alright hun. We're here for you. I know it hurts..." Rouge tried to calm me down, but I could hear the pain she felt in her voice.

"We'll help you get over it. We won't leave your side." Tails continued, his voice was soft as he slowly hugged me. "We will help you." He repeated one more time.

I didn't hug back or talk to them as my mind replayed all the wonderful times I had with Shadow, the only person who actually made me happy, the only person that I loved, the only person that I wanted to spend my life with.

I saw Rouge standing up and leaving the room, I didn't question it, thinking that she gave up already and that she went home to cry, but she came back and handed me a folder.

"He wanted you to take this..." She said as she tried to calm down.

I slowly took the folder and opened it, the first thing that caught my eye was a shining golden ring, with a big red gem in the middle.

I slowly took it and looked at it, it.was connected to a letter, which I hesitantly opened. My heart shattered as I read it.

Dear Sonic,
If you're reading this, I'm probably dead, but don't worry, I'm sure that Maria will be happy to see me...
I'm sorry if I left you heartbroken, I don't know if I died in a mission, or if someone attacked me, but I'm sure I could've been more careful, but trust me, Love, I didn't do it on purpose.
See the ring? It's for you. I wanted to propose to you for a long time, but I couldn't find the perfect moment for it, I guess it's too late now.
I'm deeply sorry that I left. I hope I'll see you again sometime, maybe even get a chance to meet Maria.

I held the note close to my chest as I cried loudly, I still couldn't believe that I lost him, that I would never see him again, that I will never kiss him, hug him, see him ever again.

"I'm so sorry Sonic..." Tails said as he hugged me tightly.

I pushed him away roughly and dashed to the room, locking the room before they would get in. I tried looking for something sharp, the thought of ending my life being the best option I could take, but there was nothing that I could use. They probably took note of my threats.

I sat on the bed shaking violently after a couple of minutes of trying to find a knife or something relatively sharp with no luck, when I saw that the folder had some photos in it.

I carefully took the photos and slightly smiled when I recognized them. There was a photo of us before we got together, I had taken a selfie of us without warning him, so he was surprised. There was one where we had gone on our first date, in an expensive restaurant, we were both dressed to look out best, I could sense how nervous we were that day just by our expression.

I was lost as I looked at the pictures as the memories came back, making me smile. When I was almost done with the photos, I dropped my ears when I saw a drawing of us, with Shadow on one knee holding a box with the ring that he had in the folder, and me standing on the other side, with my eyes watery and my hands on my mouth, while behind us was written 'I love you' by fireworks.

I felt my eyes watering again, I had no idea that Shadow was so good at drawing. Who am I kidding, he's the Ultimate Life Form.
