Virgil couldn't believe it.

He remembered so vividly now that he knew who did it.

Memories of their clear mocking faces laughing at him as they beat his helpless little sister sister.

He was sad, angry, and confused.

Based on what Roman said, he could tell he didn't mean it..right? Something about the story just didn't add up::

But who kills a child just to be popular?

The damage was done.

Roman couldn't tale back what happened, no matter how sorry he was.

How could Virgil ever forgive him?

Virgil's father started beating him way worse after he found out of Emily's death.

Virgil was often blamed for his sister's death in drunken slurs by his father.

His mother always was so caring and kind with him, though she was absolutely Devastated once she found out of her daughter's death.

His father always said "one less burden to handle" when Lucia wasn't there.

Andrew was actually quite glad that Emily was gone, she was a disabled blind girl so it was hard to look after her. Virgil always did everything he could to protect her.

But she was gone.

And Roman was unwillingly part of the cause.

Virgil was abruptly pulled out of his thoughts by Roman touching his shoulder, nervously saying, "V-Virgil, I-"

Virgil's eyes widened and he smacked Roman's hand away, getting up by himself, backing into the corner.

He looked down with a sullen look in his face.

His dull, saddened features shifted into anger when he whispered, "D-d-do-on't  tou-touch m-me..."

"What?" Roman asked, not registering what was said by the hyperventilating boy.

Virgil looked up, unshed tears threatening to spill over his eyelids, he mustered up all the courage he could and with venom lacing his normally shy and quiet voice, he yelled, "I said, don't touch me!"

Roman immediately backed off, and Janus took a slow step towards his best friend, but Virgil flinched away, "she was four...s-she was four, and blind, and you're sick...I-I-" tears spilled over his eyelids, and ran out of the house.

"Virgil, wait!" Patton screamed, chasing after him.

Virgil could surprisingly outrun Patton, and as soon as he thought he was gone, he fell to his knees and started sobbing, letting the tears finally slip down his face.

Patton caught up to a sobbing Virgil and looked at him sympathetically, smiling sadly.

"Oh..Virgil.." he whispered, kneeling down beside his friend, who backed away further into the corner of the dark alleyway.

He shivered. It was cold. It was dark. He felt alone. He felt like his father was here.

So when Patton brought a hand to him, he flinched away farther and started breaking down into even more sobs.

Patton reeled his hand back hastily and tried to think.

His brother knew a lot about this kind of stuff. He often ranted about it.

"C'mon Patton, be helpful for once and think..what did Emile teach you?" He muttered to himself.

He looked over to his friend and noticed he was trembling, crying,
and looked as if he couldn't breathe, even though he was taking in huge gulps of air.

'Panic attack?' He thought to himself.

He thought for a moment, before saying, "okay Virge, breathe in for me. In for four seconds, hold for seven, out for eight. See?" Patton demonstrated, breathing with Virgil, who tried and failed to get any air in.

They redid the exercise a few times, and though his breathing was erratic, he was eventually able to calm down. He was okay.

"Okay Virgil, what are five things you can see?" Patton asked softly.

"G-g-g-gra-a-afiti, w-w-wa-all, y-y-yo-ou, t-t-the sky.. st-star-ars.." he chocked out in a sobbing mess.

"What are four things you can touch around you?" Patton asked, smiling.

"H-ho-o-die, y-yo-our f-fo-ot, t-the wa-all, and-" Virgil didn't know what else he could touch so panicked.

"Woah Virgil! It's alright kiddo, let's move on!" Patton rushed out.

Virgils nodded, seeming to calm down.

"What are three things you can hear?" The fatherly friend asked patiently.

"Yo-your voice, m-my voice, and kitties meowing.." Virgil said, starting to relax.

"Two things you can smell?" Patton asked yet another question.

"...y-your cologne you used to impress logan, (a/n: called out), and sm-smoke.."

Patton smiled and asked the final question, "what's one thing you can taste.

Virgil felt around his mouth with his tongue. "The lingering taste of my t-tears.." he whispered, and crawled over to Patton, burying his face into his chest.

"I love my dark strange son.." Patton murmured, hugging the weak, terrified boy close to him.

Soon enough, Patton helped Virgil up and they walked towards Patton's house.

"Hey..Janus and Remus have to go home soon so maybe instead of staying with us and having to interact with Roman, you could stay with them them or you could go hom-" Patton got cut off by a panicky Virgil.

"N-no- I-I can't go home yet.." he said, shivering at the thought of his dad.

"Alright kiddo..you can decide what to do when we get there, then!" He chirped happily, deciding not to question him.

They walked into Patton's house once they arrived, right into a heated argument.

"Are you KIDDING ME?!?!" Remus screamed. "I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT IT WAS YOU! WE TRIED TO FIGURE IT OUT FOR SO LONG, BUT LITTLE DID I KNOW, I WAS LIVING WITH THE GUY WHO DID IT!"

"Hey it's not my-" Roman began, but Janus cut him off.

"You could have WALKED AWAY, you could have done anything besides help MURDER A BLIND CHILD, AND BEAT UP A KID WHO WAS JUST TRYING HIS BEST!"

"Wait until mom hears about this." Remus muttered. "She LOVED Emily, she was almost as sad as Virgil's parents were. You could go to jail for this...And how?! HOW COULD YOU NOT RECOGNIZE HIM?! HE CAME OVER ALL THE TIME AND BROUGHT EMILY TOO!"

Roman visibly jumped at the mention of getting in trouble, knowing the police could get involved. He ignored that last part, "No! No, please don't tell her!"

Janus glared at Roman. "You can't undo what you did."

Emile, Remy, and Logan were kind of just standing there, debating on whether or not they should weigh in. They were still extremely shocked from the information.

Patton saw Virgil look down sadly.

He coughed, getting everyone's attention.

Roman looked over to see Virgil, and looked shameful.

"Virgil I-" he began.

"Not now Roman" he cut him off with a whisper, "I need..time to process.."

Roman nodded and suddenly found the carpet very interesting.

Janus and Remus walked over to Virgil and hugged him, walking out of the house, glaring daggers at Roman over their shoulders.

'I'm the bad guy..' Roman thought to himself, as everybody turned their backs and walked away from him.
