Lupine, the word itself is enough to fill the dread inside. Mother's told their stories to scare the pups. The tales of lupines are enough to give you sleepless nights.

Lupine are the ferocious and gluttonous form of a werewolf, where werewolves are friendly live in pack and social, lupines prefer to live alone. They don't get along with anyone. Their words are law. They never warn. They go directly for the kill.

They have the insatiable urge for blood. They go beast on full moon. We have a choice to shift on full moon but not the lupines. They aren't born, they are turned and created.

They don't walk in four limbs, they need just two hind limbs. They are faster, stronger, fierce and voracious.

We shift only once, from humans to wolf form, but to become lupine you will have to undergo the third and the most painful shift. Long elongated skull, blood red eyes like a vampire, elongated canines, pointy ears, body like a giant human only covered with thick dark hair. A swift tail to enhance their beasty appearance.

They are the beasts. When a werewolf is broken beyond limits and looses its sanity he will turn in to a lupine.

Lupine can command any wolf. We are all submit to them. Nature has a law of balance, so out of hundred wolves only one will survive the change. Even among those one percent, majority will go insane and kill themselves one their first moon.

The warrior who trained me had told me about all these. His brother had once travelled from kingdom to kingdom , and wrote a letter five years ago, that he met a pack in other kingdom, which was ruled by a lupine Alpha.

At first we were curious to know more about it, and we believed his words, and the warrior wrote him back, asking for the details only to go unanswered. We haven't heard from his brother since then. No one knows what happened to him, warrior Sean, sent him letter every month but never received the information.

We gave up the hope, and decided that was just a false rumour. I mean imagine a lupine ruling the pack. That's so absurd.

That is all we know about them. Nothing more. We have no example to study or learn more about them. So what samurai said scared me,

"What... What do you mean?".

"Your eyes... They just turned red. Blood red. Does that even happened with you before?".
It was the she wolf, what's her name again, Cara, yes Cara who asked. And I was taken back with her question. No that never happened with me.

My expressions must have conveyed them the answers they needed,

"Shit.... This is bad. You need to reign your wolf. You should fight the bloody darkness within you. Or else you will become a lupine".
Said, Kamran.

"That's not possible. I can't be. No. How..."

I was speechless,

"Come in wolf, stay the night with us, I will explain to you properly."

"Ok."

So that's how I agreed with on staying the night with them. This might come and bite me back. But I had to know more about this. Only these rogues can help me now.

We walked back to the caves, which they called home. It must be, for them. Cara prepared us some deer, the males must had hunted it, she was an exceptional cook.

The pups came to me and played with me. I learnt the twins 5 yr old and koyal 8. They told me about the adventures they had till now. And bragged about Samurai's skills.

I just smiled at that. Whole time, I felt eyes on me, the particular beta wolf he was accessing me, trying to undone my secrets layer after layer. But he wasn't getting anywhere. The frustrated look screamed his failure. I smirked at him. He let out a small growl. 

I laughed at him silently. Irritating him more. Dinner was uneventful, we adults are in silence. And the pups had way too many stories to tell me. They bonded with me quickly.

As soon as the pups slept we went outside the cave and waited Kamran to start the story.

" What's your name?"

"Sam"

"Just Sam??"

"Yes."

"Ok, listen Sam, what I saw yesterday wasn't​ usual, how long have you been a rogue?"

"Few days".

"Unbelievable!! It takes years for rogue wolves to experience lupine symptoms. You must be lying."

"No, I am not".

"How is it possible? No ways you would feel the symptoms of lupine, unless......."

" Unless she is a wolf with power".
Said Samurai, for the first time. And smirked at me.

"No!! I am an omega wolf".

Samurai laughed at me balatantly.

"Funny Sam, Omega you say, and you killed viscous rogues at one go. Your wolf is bigger and stronger than an average wolf, that means you are of a higher rank wolf, so let's be honest here".

He asked, He has brains, I must give him that much,

"I don't want to share."

"You can trust us."
Said Cara,

"Sorry Cara, but I can't."

"It's ok, we won't ask you, we can understand. Kamran please tell her what she needs to know. We owe her, she saved our pups."

" You are right. So as I was saying, you already know what lupine is, usually when a wolf stay isolated for years, he will go crazy, and starts halucinating, it seems they can see their wolf form standing next to them, coaxing them asking them to give complete control to their wolf part.

It was then, the wolf part dominate over the skin part and goes berserk. He looses his humanity and starts having bloodlust. Once he starts drinking blood he depends on it completely, his eyes will turn red, he looses every ounce of control over his body and attains a lupine form.

The transformation will go on for three whole days, breaking and rearranging of bones continues . Majority will die at this stage, but those who live this, they will be weak for first few days and usually go insane and kill themselves on the first full moon.

But there are some lupines, who survive their first moon. And by the morning they will have that exceptional energy , and lead the life . Some says they can shift back to their skin, if they are strong enough. But that is all tales. I have never seen any such lupines.

So what I saw today was the first lupine symptom. It shouldn't happen to you. You need to be careful. "

They looked each other for a second and Cara replies,

"No we don't. You are special, we can see that. We feel comfortable around you. We feel at ease. Our wolves are asking to stay with you. They are contented for the first time.

So we are going to trust you and tell you about ourselves. I was a sister of Alpha maximus, red moon pack, my brother was amazing, he reached 28, yet didn't find his mate. He had to choose a mate in order to rule his pack.

Taken the advantage of this situation, our beta's daughter seduced my brother during her heat and became pregnant. She was a bitch, all she cared about was title. And she knew I would never let her become Luna, so she had to remove me from the picture.

She along with her brother who is a Doctor, started giving some medicine in my food and made me act irrationally and atlast I was so insane that they made me kill my own mate.

They recorded that and showed it to my brother. My mate was his best friend. He fell in her trap and banished me from the pack. They separated me from my pups.

One night I entered into their territory and stole my pups and ran away from the pack. And that is when I met Kamran."

By the time she was done with her story she was sobbing her heart out. I felt bad for her. Her pain was too much to bear. But Kamran was there , hugging her, consoling her.
