Y/n P.O.V 

My heart stopped. Another mate? How is this possible. But..? Does this mean I-I...? A sudden burst of happiness has me squeezing the dear life out of Beth. We laughed in joy together as I expressed my excitement. 

"Wait. I still haven't rejected my previous mate. What happens now?" Beth put her hand on her chin in a thoughtful manner. After a while, she finally had an answer.

"Well, since you were rejected, the last pull of the mate bond has now been severed. Right now your previous mate is probably curling up in immense pain since the bond was broken without your acceptance. But since it was you rejected you will feel nothing. The mate bond is being healed but your mate will be someone new, someone of your hurt, and level." I nodded to her words took them in though. 

I wonder who my new mate was...

Laxus P.O.V 

I woke up to the screams of pain. I jumped up fast ready to fight off rogues, only to find a grown man curled up in a ball crying. I looked at the sight disgusted. What the hell was he crying about? 

I got back to my room when suddenly I felt something inside of me change. Like something has been filled. My heartfelt as though it had been asleep for years and now was just waking up from its great slumber. My knees buckled and I pulled at my chest. An emotion filled me. Hope? I couldn't tell, I haven't felt this way since...? 

No. That couldn't be possible, unless..? I thought those were only legends, stories for children to dream about at night. Myths. 

But in all myths lies a truth.
