Y/n P.O.V

I remember the day like it was yesterday. The scorching pain. The tears. 

The rejection. 

It was nothing I had ever felt. Not even the first time shifting felt that bad. Sighing I got up and walked out of my room, only wearing a huge shirt and some underwear. 

I walked down the halls of my pack house before turning into my office to find someone already in there. I stopped and eyed the figure before growling. It was my mate, ex-mate.

"What do you want?" I sneered as I walked past him and searched the files on my desk. 

"Trust me, I wouldn't be here unless I had too," Natus said as he got up and walked over to me. I sat down in my seat and read files while he sat down in the seat across from me. 

"You have an Alpha meeting tomorrow," Natsu said. He eyed me up and down licking his lips. I gave him a disgusted expression. 

"I know." 

"So you also know that none of them, except for Sting, want you there because your stubborn and disrespectful and the King will be there." He said in a harsh tone. How did he know this? Also, why does he even care? 

"Natsu, may I remind I am an Alpha too. I may be a woman but I can rip your ass to shreds and no one would ever know." I threatened and I saw the smallest bit fear in his eyes before he smirked. 

"See? This is why no one wants you there." He said. He played with a small trinket on my desk, twirling it in his hands. 

"Like it or not I will be there, to protect my pack," I said with accusing eyes. He sighed. He placed the trinket back down and stood up.

"I tried." He shrugged his shoulders and walked out but not before saying.

"Just be careful tomorrow, Y/n. It's not Makarov anymore." And then he walked out, showing a twinge of concern.
