Chapter 6

I woke up to the feeling of Robb shifting underneath the covers of my bed. After the bathtub incident, we took it to the bedroom. I snuggled in closer to the Stark and closed my eyes peacefully.

"Good morning, love," Robb said with a grin, kissing my neck. I giggled and turned around to face him. His hand stroked my bare skin as he pressed his lips to mine. I kissed him passionately as he climbed on top of me, pulling my head up to kiss him better. I panted as he kissed me harder.

And then, we heard a knock at the door. "Allison?"

I gasped. Robb froze for a second before he quickly slipped off of me. I pulled the covers over our naked bodies before the door opened.

"Allison!" Natalie limped into the room and greeted me with a wide grin. Then, she saw Robb and smirked. "Is that one of the Starks?"

I blushed madly. "Natalie! Just... give us a second to get dressed, okay?"

Natalie chuckled and grabbed the door handle. "You had fun last night." She started to shut the door before she opened it back up again. "But I heard you and Theon got into a fight."

"Let's talk when I'm dressed," I replied, blushing even more and pulling the covers over me protectively.

Natalie grinned and shut the door. "I'll be waiting!" she called.

Robb got out of bed and offered me a hand. "Is that Natalie?"

I nodded, taking his hand and getting out of bed. "She's my best friend. I wouldn't be in Winterfell if it weren't for her." I slipped into a more casual dress as Robb started to put on his pants.

"Then I love her for allowing us to meet," Robb said, making me blush and giggle. I pulled him in for a kiss. Robb pulled his shirt over his head and kissed me again. I made out with him for a few seconds before pulling back.

"Come in, Natalie," I called. Natalie opened the door and limped over to me. I hugged her tightly, wrapping my arms around her.

"How's your leg?" I asked, pulling back from the hug worriedly.

Natalie shrugged. "It feels better, but it still hurts." She stuck out her hand to Robb. "I'm Natalie."

"Robb," he said, smiling and shaking her hand. "I'll let you two talk." He walked out of the room, closing the door behind him, but not before winking at me. I chuckled and sat down on my bed, motioning for Natalie to sit down next to me. She did.

"How's Bradford?" I asked after a moment's pause. Even though him and I definitely didn't see eye to eye, I was grateful to him for taking care of Natalie.

"Oh, he's just recovering from all the fun we had last night," Natalie replied, smirking. My eyes went wide, and Natalie laughed. "I'm just kidding."

I laughed with her. "You're crazy." I playfully shoved her, much lighter than I'd shoved my brother last night. She shoved me back - again, playfully. I giggled.

"So... what happened at the feast last night?" Natalie asked. "Is it true?"

I nodded. "Yes. Theon was a drunken idiot last night. He poured wine on me." I rolled my eyes at nothing in particular. "So, I shoved him, and he pushed me to the ground, and... well, it escalated quickly."

Natalie looked me over carefully. "Did he hurt you?"

I shook my head. "No, no. He would never hurt me. He was just..." I replayed the events in my head. "He was just drunk."

"Bradford says Theon drinks a lot," Natalie said. "Not as much as King Robert, but still a lot."

I laughed. "Insulting King Robert's drinking habits? Such a treasonous thought!" I grabbed Natalie's waist and started to tickle her. She pushed me away, giggling.

"You agree with me, though!" Natalie grinned. We continued with our banter for a few more minutes before we heard commotion and horses outside. I helped Natalie limp down the stairs as we left the tower and walked outside.

"What's going on?" I asked the person closest to me.

She turned around to face me and frowned. "You don't know? Ned Stark is the new Hand of the King, so he's leaving for King's Landing with his daughters."

My eyes widened. I turned to Natalie. "Excuse me for a second." I ignored her questions and ran forward until I reached Arya.

"Arya," I said softly, bending down to her eye level. "I... I just wanted to tell you that no matter who tries to bring you down, no matter how impossibly unfair the world seems, you can do what you want. You can be whoever you want to be." I looked her in the eyes to make sure she was fully listening. "You don't have to be a lady like your sister. You can be a conqueror. You can be a warrior. You can be a leader."

Arya smiled at me a bit sadly. "Thank you." She suddenly ran forward and wrapped her tiny arms around me. I hugged her back briefly before she pulled back.

"Make sure to keep your idiot brother in line," Arya said with a chuckle. I giggled and gave her a high five before she left. I smiled and breathed in the fresh air.

"Your brother's not an idiot, you know."

I spun around to face the speaker. My mouth practically dropped open when I saw who it was. "Bradford?"

Bradford grinned and bowed. "At your service." He stood up after a slightly awkward moment.

"I thought you hated me," I whispered, staring at the knight in front of me.

"Oh, I do," Bradford chuckled. "But I pledged myself to you, so I'm stuck."

I scoffed, holding out my hand for Bradford to shake. He took it, then pulled me into a rough hug. It only lasted for about two seconds before we both pulled back.

"Yeah, you're stuck with me for life." I grinned and leaned against the wall. "So, when's the wedding between you and my best friend?" I teased.

Bradford's eyes visibly widened. "She told you? I told her not to tell anyone!"

Now it was my turn to be shocked. "What? I was joking! You... you're getting married?" A wide grin spread across my face.

"Aye," Bradford replied, smiling. "I love her, and she loves me. Why should we wait?"

I nodded, smiling back. "I'm so happy for you two." I started walking off to where I'd left Natalie. "Come on, she's this way."

Bradford followed me to Natalie. When she saw us, she jumped into Bradford's arms as he spun her around. She laughed and kissed him. I grinned as I watched them. They were so happy together. I hoped Robb and I would be happy together, too.

"Allison," a voice said from behind me. I turned around to see my brother. I instantly looked down in slight guilt, then looked back up at him.

"Theon," I answered, putting my hands on my hips. "What can I do for you?"

"Come with me," Theon replied, taking my hand and leading me away from the crowd. We eventually approached a beautiful lake in the woods. Theon sat down and motioned for me to sit beside him, so I did.

Theon waited until I took in my surroundings before he spoke. "It's beautiful, isn't it?"

I nodded. "I never knew you to appreciate the beauty of nature," I said honestly.

Theon chuckled. "I don't. I just wanted to get away from everyone." His smile faded. "I need to talk to you about last night."

I sighed, playing with a strand of grass. "We both made mistakes," I suggested.

Theon nodded. "Aye. But we can't do it again." He looked me in the eyes. "Our reputation will be ruined with one more incident like that."

I glared at my brother. "You have more concern for our reputation than apologizing?"

Theon scoffed. "You're the one who took my wine from me."

"You poured it on my head!" I practically shouted. "But you know what? I'm glad you did it, because afterwards, I had the best fucking I've had in my entire life!"

Theon's eyes widened, then narrowed. "With Robb?" When I didn't respond, he sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "Allison, you have to be careful with Robb. He isn't the kind of guy that can commit to a relationship."

I crossed my arms. "We're not in a relationship anyway. It was one night."

"He's going to break your heart," Theon warned, his blue eyes piercing into mine. "So please do yourself a favor and stay away from him."

"I... I thought you were best friends," I said softly, looking down at my reflection in the lake.

"We are," Theon responded almost immediately. "I will follow him wherever he goes. I fight for him. He is my illegitimate brother."

I couldn't help giggling at that. "I'm not sure 'illegitimate' is the right word for it."

Theon grinned and shrugged. "Doesn't matter." He stood up and offered me a hand, which I took. "Come on. Let's have some sibling bonding." He smiled in a friendly manner, and I smiled back.

Maybe we didn't always have to formally apologize. Maybe it was enough to have moments like these.

Maybe we had to cherish those moments until the end of time.

Theon walked by my side back towards Winterfell. "So... Lord Stark and his daughters are gone now." He didn't show much emotion as he spoke. "So is Jon Snow."

"Is that your half-brother?" I asked. I recognized the surname Snow as being a bastard's surname, but I hated the word bastard. It carried a very negative connotation.

Theon nodded. "You didn't meet him, did you? Who did you meet last night?"

"Well, I met Arya," I replied, grinning. "Arya's quite the character."

Theon snickered and nodded. "Aye, she is." He kicked a rock across the dirt. "She's definitely not going to grow up and be a lady. She'll probably try and conquer the Seven Kingdoms like that Targaryen girl." He chuckled and shook his head. "Just because she's a Targaryen, she thinks she can rule? She's your age!"

I smirked. "What, you don't think I could sit on the Iron Throne?"

"Only if you pay the iron price," Theon replied with a grin. He shook his head, giggling. "It's ridiculous, really. My father sends me here for life without a second thought, and he still expects me to be loyal to him."

I tilted my head slightly. "What are you talking about?"

"He wants me to force you to return to the Iron Islands," Theon said, rolling his eyes. "He told me not to listen to anything you say. He told me to make you a prisoner on the ship until you arrive home again."

I scoffed, shaking my head. "You would never do that... would you?" My eyes got wide as I stared at my brother.

Theon laughed. "Your arrival is the most exciting thing to happen in my life in the ten years I've been here. You're not going anywhere." He smirked and nudged me in the side. "I suppose you're Robb Stark's prisoner now."

I blushed and nudged Theon back. "Shut up."

"Theon!" Robb shouted, running up to us.

"Robb!" I yelled back, grinning. "How are you?"

"Both of you must come with me. Now," Robb said quickly. "My mother needs to speak with us."

"What's happening?" Theon asked, his smile fading. He was being completely serious for once.

Robb shook his head as he hurried away from us. "Follow me," he called. I looked at Theon with a confused expression, but he had already taken off after Robb. So, I ran after them.

When we finally reached Catelyn, Robb wrapped her in a hug. She was crying softly. I skidded to a stop next to Theon.

When Robb finally pulled back from the hug, he wiped a few tears from her cheeks. "Will you tell us what has happened now?"

"I'm going to the capital," Catelyn responded after a minute. "Someone tried to kill Bran last night."

Theon, Robb and I gasped at the same time. Robb's eyes widened, then narrowed. "Who?"

"One of the Lannisters," Catelyn replied, crossing her arms. "Bran didn't fall from that tower." She took a deep breath to calm herself down. "He was thrown by one of the Lannisters."

"How do you know?" Theon asked quietly.

"I found a blonde hair at the top of the tower," Catelyn responded angrily. "So, I started thinking, why would a Lannister want to kill an innocent boy? Unless..." Catelyn looked directly at Robb. "Unless he saw something he shouldn't have seen."

Robb crossed his arms. It was just then I realized how much Robb and Catelyn were alike. "Like what?" he asked.

"I don't know," Catelyn said.

"I do," Theon replied suddenly. "We have all heard the rumors about the queen and the Kingslayer."

"Those are only rumors," I told him with a slight smirk. "They're twins."

"Either way," Catelyn continued, looking at all of us. "Ned must know the truth. I'm riding to King's Landing with Ser Rodrik today."

Robb's eyebrows furrowed. "I'm going with you."

"No," Catelyn said instantly. "There must always be a Stark at Winterfell. You will stay here and take care of Bran."

"I will declare war on every last Lannister there is!" Robb exclaimed. "Theon, Allison, are you with me?"

"I will always be with you," Theon replied, drawing his sword.

"As will I," I agreed, pulling out my dagger.

"Don't rush into war," Catelyn advised Robb, staring into his eyes. "Not yet." She then turned to Theon and I. "Your impulsiveness will get you into trouble."

I looked at Theon, whose fists had clenched at the comment. "Are you not impulsive too, Lady Stark? You only just decided to ride to King's Landing."

Robb glared at Theon. "Quiet," he commanded. I didn't say a word, but I agreed with Theon. The Starks were just as impulsive as the Greyjoys. Catelyn shouldn't insult us like that.

"Robb, do you swear to take care of Bran and Rickon while I'm away?" Catelyn asked firmly. Robb nodded. "Yes, of course."

"We should leave," Theon said to me, putting an arm around my shoulder as he guided me away. I walked away with him, sighing and pushing his arm off.

"So Robb's in charge of Winterfell now," Theon commented with a slight eye roll. "He won't have any spare time anymore."

I shrugged as I looked at my brother. "It's alright. If it's important to him, he will make time for me."

Theon nodded and breathed in the air. "We have to make the most of these next few days. If Robb goes to war, I will go with him."

"I stand wherever you stand, Theon," I said seriously. "I will go wherever you go to make sure you don't get yourself killed."

Theon chuckled and nudged me. "You don't have to worry about that." He smiled, and we kept walking and talking until we reached the tower again.

We saw Bradford and Natalie sitting on a bench outside. Theon chuckled. "When do you think they're getting married?"

I laughed. "I thought Bradford wasn't telling anyone."

Theon grinned and shrugged. "He told me. Sorry if you weren't important enough for him to tell," he said teasingly.

"Shut up!" I giggled, smacking him lightly. Theon clutched his arm in mock pain, pretending to be hurt. This only made me laugh harder.

Wow, I had really missed my brother.
