Friends are VERY important, definitely since things in the palace aren't calm and steady. You need someome (1+) you can rely on. This is your change to do that whitout interference.
There will be some guards, but you can easily avoid them.

Don't visit the captain
Don't enter the bedrooms
Don't jump into the water
Don't cause a fire, short circuit.
Don't damage the boat in general
