My Jessie

Jessica and Danny decided on a facility and he would soon be moving in from the hospital.

"Jessica, Coltan's grandparents will be back in town in a few days, he can stay with my mom until then."

"Danny, will you stop worrying about it? I've talked to the kids and Coltan made it very clear that he wanted to stay with his brothers and sisters. I don't want to leave him alone. Besides, what's one more?"

"I know you can handle it, it's not that, it's just that I know he is not your responsibility.  He's mine and I don't expect you to take care of him."

"Daniel, it's done and over with. Drop it."

Danny sighs. "Thank you, Jess. You're an incredible person."

".. Yes I am." Jessica chuckles.

Danny smiles and grabs her hand and brings it to his lips.

"Once you are settled into your room, I'm gonna take the kids to see you!"

"Oh good, I miss them all so much!"

"They miss you too."

"Jess, where is Cole gonna sleep?"

"He can sleep with the boys. Why do you keep going back to that?"

"Because Jess, six kids is a lot and I feel terrible."

"I'm fine, Daniel.. I'm the supreme." Jessica says with a smile.

"Hah! Yes you are.. Babydoll."

Jessica leans in a gives him a soft kiss.  Hearing him call her that again made her happy.

"This is nice, Daniel! You have a nice bed, and a tv.. what more could you ask for?"

"I wanna go home!" Danny pouts.

"I know you do, honey. I'm sorry."

Lately due to his medication, Danny has been very emotional.

Jessica saw tears form in his eyes so she walked over and knelt down in from oh him.
"Hey, what's wrong? This is the beginning of your recovery. This is good!"

"I just want to be with you and the kids. Jess, I feel like that's never gonna happen. We come close to being together, then this happens. I just want things to be normal."

"So do I, baby.. just work hard, and we'll all be home in no time." Jessica smiles as she rubs her hand up and down on his thigh then softly pecks his cheek.

That night Jessica took all the kids home and started on dinner.

"Mommy, Josh is hitting me and spitting on me!" Joseph tells his mother.

"Joshua Daniel Huston!"

"He pulled my hair!"

"Joe!"

"Ahh! Coltan bit me!" Arabella shouts from the next room.

"MOM! Jackson keeps looking at me!" Sofia says.

Jessica closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.

"Everybody keep to themselves! Don't look at each other, don't breath on each other, no spitting, no bitting, no pulling hair, Just Don't Go Near Each Other."

"I'm hungry, Momma!" Arabella shouts walking into the kitchen.

"I'm working on it, Arabella."

"I'm Hungry! I'm Hungry! I'm Hungry!" She says stomping her tiny feet on the ground.

"I said I am working on it!"

Arabella cries and throws herself on the ground.
Jessica sighs and ignores her.

Finally she finishes dinner and sets the table with the help of Sofia.

"Thanks for helping me, Sof."

"You're welcome, mommy." Sofia smiles sweetly.

Dinner started off very nice. The kids talked about seeing their father the next day, and for a moment Jessica could relax. That relaxing moment didn't last long because soon the twins started a food fight.

"Boys enough! If you're not going to eat, then you can go to bed!"

"No I'm hungry!" Joseph yells.

"Well then stop throwing your food on your brother!"

"He threw it at me first!" He says grabbing his noodles and throwing them at his brother.

"Joseph Alexander!"

"NO!" He makes a face at Jessica before he hits the table.

"That's enough the both of y'all. Sof, Jax, can you please watch the younger two while I take them upstairs, please?"

"Sure!"

"Thank you. Come on you two little monsters." Jessica picks them up screaming and crying and all covered in spaghetti sauce.

Jessica quickly stripped them down and put them in the tub to clean them off.

"You two know better than to be acting like that."

"Momma, I don't want to go to bed!" Joshua says.

"Well you're going to! We don't act like that, we do not throw our food!"

"But we sorry!" Joseph pouts.

"Well that's fine but you're still going to bed."

"NOOO!" He cries and hits his hands in the water getting Jessica all wet.

Jessica sighs and quickly finishes up their bath.
After drying them off she takes them to their room and gets their pajamas out.

"No I sleep in my undies!" Joshua runs in place then quickly moves away from his mother.

"Joe, do you wanna sleep in your undies too?"

"No I wear my jammies."

"Okay then come here."

Jessica puts them in bed, kisses their foreheads and turns off the light.
Little did she know the boys had a plan.

Jessica came back downstairs and Sofia was cleaning up the mess while Jackson kept the younger ones entertained.

"Oh look at my babies being such a big help! Thank you both so much!"

"No problem, momma!" Sofia smiles.

"Go ahead and get ready for bed, baby. I can finish this."

"That's fine, momma. I'm almost finished anyway."

"I feel bad, Sof!"

"Don't! Just go get them ready for bed."

Jessica smiles and walks over to give her a hug.
"Thank you so much, Sofia. I love you, pretty girl."

"You're welcome. And I love you too."

Jessica kisses her before getting the other two.
"Thank you, Jackson. Here, I'll take them. Can you please help your sister finish up down here?"

"Sure."

"Thank you so much, baby!  You two don't start fighting, okay?"

"We won't.. I was kinda over reacting." Sofia giggles.

"Happens to the vest of us!" Jessica chuckles.

Jessica took the kids upstairs and started their bath.

"Okay get your naked butts in the tub!"

"Jessie, this is the first time you've seen me naked! You've never seen my peepee before!" Coltan laughs and covers his mouth.

Jessica laughed. "We've come a long way, haven't we, Cole?"

**

"Okay, time to get out."

"No! We want more bubbles, mommy!" Arabella says.

"No, it's time for bed."

"Jessie, more bubbles! Please!"

"I'm sorry but it's night night time. The sooner we get to bed, the sooner we get to see daddy!"

"Yay! Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!" Both kids jump and clap their hands.

Jessica dried them off and got them ready for bed.

"Where I going to sleep, Jessie?"

"Well I was gonna put you in with the twins, but they're being bad so I'm just gonna leave them in there alone. You wanna sleep with Bella tonight?"

"Oh no, I need my space!" Arabella says lifting her little hands.

"Arabella!"

"Fine! But don't get on my side!" She tells Coltan.

Jessica chuckles and follows them as they run to Arabella's room.

Jessica tucked them in and Arabella cuddled up next to Coltan.
"Oh look who's getting in someone's space now!" Jessica laughs.

"Goodnight mommy. You can leave now, I'm going to sleep!"

"Heh!  Goodnight, baby." Jessica kisses her forehead.

"Night night, Jessie!" Coltan puckers his lips.

"Goodnight, Cole." Jessica kisses his cheek.

Walking down the hall, Jessica hears a noise coming from the twins room.
They were both still in cribs because it was just an easier way of making sure they stayed in bed.  Although, the twins have worked together and figured out an escape plan.

Jessica opens the door and the twins were up and making a mess of their room.

"Boys! What in the world are you two doing!"

"Oh no!" Joseph runs his little feet to his crib and tries climbing into it but fails and falls on the floor.

Joshua gasps and places his hands on his hips.
"Mommy, what are you doing in our room!" He says with a mean face.

"Little boy, don't even start. What are you two doing?"

"Get out!" He points to the door.

"Stop it! I swear you two, if you don't stop this mess and go to bed, then you won't see daddy tomorrow."

"That's mean!"

"Well you're being mean to me right now! You two better stay in bed!"

**

4;30 am.

"Jessie!" Coltan whispers loudly but Jessica doesn't budge.

"Jessie!" He gets a little louder.

Still no answer Coltan decides to shout.
"JESSIE!"

Jessica gasps and quickly sits up in a panic.
"What! What's wrong?!"

"I had a bad dream."

"Oh! Coltan, you scared me!"

"I sorry.. can you pick me up there?"

"Sure baby."

Jessica picks him up and sits him beside her.
Coltan rubs his teary eyes and Jessica softly rubs his back.

"What was your dream about?" Jessica asks.

"My momma.. she was here, and I tried hugging her but she went away. Then I saw my daddy and he was hurt. A bad man hurt him!"

"A bad man?"

"Yeah, the bad man hurt my daddy! And my mommy's medicine hurt her!"

"Her medicine?"

"Yeah she used to take medicine cause she was sick. It was grown up only medicine.... I no know why she took it cause she got even more sicker after she took it!  My mommy was silly like that."

Jessica felt so horrible for Coltan. Knowing that Trisha used to take all kinds of drugs in front of him broke her heart. He didn't deserve a life like that.

"Oh baby, I'm so sorry!" Jessica held him in her arms.

"I want my mommy and my daddy!" Coltan cries.

"Sweetie, we're gonna see your daddy tomorrow."

"But I never gonna see my mommy ever again!"

Jessica sighed and gently rocked him back and forth.
Danny had warned Jessica that Coltan would often wake in the night with due to nightmares, but actually seeing him this upset really hurt her.

"Can I please sleep with you? I'm scared that I'm gonna have the dream about the bad guy again!"

"Sure, you can sleep in here."

"Thank you!"
Coltan grabbed the covers and quickly climbed under.

Jessica laid on her side and Coltan cuddled up right next to her.
"Can you hold me so no one takes me away from you?"

"Honey, no ones gonna take you away from me."

"I'm still scared they might!  Please hold me!"

"Okay, I'll hold you."

Jessica wrapped her arm around him and Coltan held her arm to make sure she wouldn't let him go.
"Thank you."

"It's no problem, Cole."

"... Jessie?"

"Yes?"

"I love you." Coltan turned around and smiled at her.

"I love you too, Coltan."

"I'm glad that you're my Jessie." He says wiggling his butt so he's even closer to her.

"Awe that's sweet, Cole."

Coltan soon fell right to sleep feeling safe in Jessica's arms.
Jessica stayed up thinking for a while.
This was her life now. She was ready to raise six kids with Danny. Even if one wasn't hers, this little boy stole her heart, and she was going to treat him as one of her own. Sure it's strange and some would say she's crazy. Hell, she'd even call herself crazyBut this little boy needed to be loved. A big family is what he needed. Jessica knew what she was doing was right, and no matter what anyone else said, she wasn't going to change her mind.  She wanted to be there for him.  She wanted to help him in whatever way she could.
