Chapter 9

Eevee's P.O.V.

Violet returned all of her pokemon to their pokeballs. When suddenly her pokegear starts to ring. She quickly pulled it out and looked at the caller ID. She let out a small sigh and put it up to her ear.

"Hi brother, did you need something?" She asked presumably to her brother.

She listened to what he said, and replied. "A battle? Now? I'm kinda busy." She listened some more. "Fine if you insist I will battle you. Meet me in front of the of the gate to Goldenrod city. Bye." She hung up her pokegear and put it away.

She addressed me and said. "That was my brother. He wants to have a pokemon battle with me. I'm supposed to meet him in front of the Goldenrod city gate. But that is a rather far walk from here, and you're injured if you want I can carry you there so you don't hurt yourself." She said sincerely.

She is right it is a very long walk and I am injured. If this were normal circumstances I would not let her carry me, but these aren't exactly normal circumstances. I hesitantly nodded yes in reply.

Violet leaned down and gently picked me up, being very careful. Then she started the trek to Goldenrod city.

Violet stopped in front of the Goldenrod city gate, as we waited for her brother. The late afternoon sun shone on the landscape around us. Reflecting off of the river to our right, and lighting the forest to our left. Suddenly I saw a trainer coming from route 34. I couldn't tell much from this distance, but he looked vaguely familiar.

When he got closer I saw that he is wearing a blue jeans, a red teeshirt, over his shirt he wore a black windbreaker, and a blue and red baseball cap that cast a shadow over his face, it hid most of his features. Except for his place skin and thin lips. He look familiar. Then I knew why he was my trainer! A wave of terror washed over me and I lept out of Violet's arms. As soon as I touched the ground, I hid behind her and started to quiver.

Violet noticed my odd behavior and knelt down next to me.

She said "Eevee what's wrong?"

Before I could tell her the boy walked up to us.

He said "Hey sis."

Did he say sister?! Does that mean that Violet's brother is my old trainer? Or is this a big mix up? He glanced at me and snorted.

"Violet is that the pathetic Eevee that I released? Are you seriously training it or do you just pity it and keep her around?" He asked rather harshly.

"Wait she was your Eevee?! You are one who injured her so badly!" She said glaring at her brother, seething in anger.

"Yes of course it was me, she was too weak to do anything in battle, and wasn't learning good moves. So it was worthless to have her taking up a spot on my team." He explained his crude reasoning. "Now let's get to that battle we agreed on."

He pulled out a pokeball and pressed the center button. A Hoothoot appeared in a flash of light. She appeared to be very frightened.

During all of this Violet was standing there he eyes gleaming with molten anger, taking in what he had just said. The anger in her eyes hardened and she grabbed her first pokeball.

"Abram I officially challenge you to a battle." She stated ready to fight.

She sent out her Pokemon prepared to fight.
