Dreams...or should I say Nightmares

Percy's P.O.V

I refused to say anything else. They led me to a room with a large table. Everyone but Loki sat down. Loki leaned on the wall looking bored, but his eyes kept flicking up to me. The pirate guy was here.

"Perseus-" he started.

"It's Percy." I snapped.

"Okay, Percy, take a seat." He said with a glare.

"No thank you. I'd rather not. And hey, where's your parrot? I thought Pirates have parrots." A vein in his forhead stuck out and he turned beet red. Tony snorted and the pirate guy glared at him. Tony flinched and looked down.

"I am Director Nick Fury and-"

"Woah, wait a second. Did you say fury? As in Alecto?" I asked. Loki snickered and Thor hid a smile.

"What?" Bruce asked.

"Nothing." Thor, Loki and Percy said at the same time.

"Anyways," Fury said with a glare, "I would like you to join the Avengers." I looked at him and tilted my head.

"What's the Avengers?" Everyone but Loki and Thor gawked at me.

"You don't know the Avengers?" Clint asked. I shook my head.

"We are an elite team of superheroes that saved the earth from the Chitauri attack a few months ago." Clint said, looking smug. I rolled my eyes. Stupid mortals. They save the world once and think that they are the best people ever.

"How are you not impressed?!" Tony shouted.

"Heck, you should be grovelling at our feet!" He yelled. I narrowed my eyes at them.

"It's bad enough I have to bow to my other uncles." I muttered. Thor snorted with laughter and Loki smiled.

"So...what do you say?" Natasha asked.

"Fine." I said with a sigh. Thor squealed and led me to my room. Loki walked behind him with me while Thor chatted on about something. When I got there I was surprised at how big it was. It was two stories and had a king sized bed. There was a giant TV and it had a balcony. I walked into it and was delighted at the view. At the edge was a circular bed with lots of pillows and four chains attached it to a metal beam. Oh, the bed was hanging over the edge of the balcony, hanging over the city. I looked down and saw a large pond right underneath my hanging outdoor bed. Well, seventy floors from it, but still. Loki and Thor left and I lay on my bed. (Inside one) I realised that when the lights were switched off, the ceiling had little lights that looked like stars. Then sleep overtook me. I was in a dark cell, my hands bound to the wall with thick chains. The door opened and in came... Tartaraus. He held a whip in his hand and he had a twisted smile on his face. I glared at him. He tsked a few times.

"Percy, Percy, Percy. It is otime that I retaliate at you killing my wife, Gaia. You will soon know to expect me every time you close your eyes to sleep. Let's start tonight." He said with a cruel snarl. He whipped my back fifty times, but I refused to cry out, even though my back felt like I was taking a dip in the river Styx again. Another fifty lashes and finally a scream escaped my throat. Tartaraus sneered.

"I hope you liked that Perseus." He said with a laugh and I woke up, shaking and sweating, gasping for air and my back burned. I gently touched it and I felt raw flesh. I brought my hand back and saw a deep crimson staining my fingers. I stumbled to the bathroom and got into the shower, letting the blood stain the flowing water. I gasped as my flesh knitted back together. I eventually got out and willed myself to be dry. I stumbled to a clock and saw the time. 05:00. Wow. I've never been up so early. I walked outside and walked right into Steve.

"Sorry." I muttered, not meeting his eyes.

"I'm sorry too. Why are you up so early?" He asked.

"Uh...dreams." I said it more like a question. Steve frowned.

"What?"

"Nothing, why are you up?" I changed the subject.

"I used to be in the army. We had to get up as soon as the sun rose. Old habits die hard, I guess."

"Want me to take you to the kitchen?" He asked, I nodded. We walked in silence until we reached the kitchen.

"Thanks." I muttered and he left. I made cookies, waffles, and muffins. I took some and left the rest on the table.

"Jarvis?" I asked wearily.

"Yes Sir?" The British voice from the ceiling replied.

"Can you direct me to the pool please?" I asked.

"Of course." Jarvis said and led me to the pool. I immediately jumped in and lay at the bottom. For the first time in ages, I actually relaxed.
