"Well. Well. Well, the reject brought back something good this time. He looks even better in real life." A girl clad in a red dress stepped forward. She had a dragon's tattoo riding up her arm, her dark blue hair covered its head. One of them, a guy, scoffed and rolled his eyes. His hair was white and his eyes were startling red.

"Stop drooling Amy, we're here for Alice, so stop trying to impress the new mentor."  A younger girl nodded in agreement but smiled at me playfully. "I agree with Grayson, although he is pretty cute, we are here for the freak." Amy grunted then sighed.

"You do realize who's in charge of this group, right Elise? But yes, the girl." One of them frowned nervously and tried to speak but was shot down by the glare of Elise. Amy held up two fingers, like a gun, and flicked her hand back. A blast of energy came for Alice, I hit the ball of energy with my own and it exploded. I stepped in front of her and glared at the group.  "Touch her and you'll regret it, she doesn't need harassment from a bunch of snobs like you." Electricity surged through me, I cupped my hands together and formed a lightning ball. "Jason, you don't know who you're dealing with." Grayson launched himself forward, I mean literally too, he jumped forward after shooting a fire bolt behind him. I smirked. "Play ball!" I threw the lightning ball straight into his face, he collapsed mid-air and skidded to a halt at my feet.

"Strike one." Amy's face scrunched up in anger and she nodded at Elise, Elsie grinned maniacally and zipped behind me, kneeing me in the back, I grabbed her leg and threw her into the side of the jet. In a way she was like Rico, Fast and clever but couldn't handle brute force. She grunted when she hit the ground and started having a coughing fit, Grayson crawled over to her and gripped her hand tight. Alice sparked with anxiety, electricity popped off of her fingertips, she nodded at me and tilted her head at Amy.

Grayson got back up and came at me again, sidestepping when I tried hitting him with another blast and catching me in the face. He unleashed a barrage of energy engulfed attacks, kneeing me with explosive power that propelled his foot into my body and fists that threatened to knock me out at any minute. I growled and stopped his next attack and headbutted him, knocking him far away then throwing an arc of pure plasma at him. The girl that was to scared to do anything raised a shield in front of him just before it him, but it was a little in vain because he was thrown from the blast and had scorch marks on his face. I turned to Amy and yelled at her.

   "Come on Amy, stop sending your lackeys at me and actually fight me or are you all bark and no bite as well?" She tried rushing me but I sidestepped and Amy ran into Alice who brought one finger on Amy's neck, the air popped then Amy shook and collapsed. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head but she was still breathing. The fourth and last girl just looked at us wide-eyed, Alice smiled at her and nodded in approval, the girl smiled back and started to help drag away the others along with Grayson who looked down shamefully. I approached him and wistfully grabbed his arm.

"Why? Why try to hurt her?" He glanced up slowly, not at me but at Alice. His eyes watered as he took his arm back and he released Amy, falling to his knees. "I-I don't know, Amy decided on it and it just felt natural to obey. I never thought about it, all I thought about was my status, popularity, and the fear of if I didn't listen." I put my foot on his head and kicked him to the ground, he shouted out in pain as he skidded away. I stepped on his arms, he didn't resist nor show defiance but only fear. His eyes released a dam full of tears and his voice cracked when he spoke. "P-please don't! I'm sorry!" I pinned his arms under my knees and started to punch him. I punched him only a few times before Alice stopped me.

"He's had enough! Jason please!" She pulled me off of him and looked at me with worried eyes, I turned away and got up. I pulled Grayson up and shoved him away. "Jason." Alice looked at me with pleading eyes, My face softened. "I'm sorry.." I faced the person before me and shouted.

"That's what she felt like you loser, helpless and scared and in pain! You're not sorry until you experience it and she experienced it for five years!" Alice grabbed my hand and shook her head, I glared at him. "Take your friends and get out of here." He struggled not to sob. "I'm sorry." He dragged away Amy and the other girl dragged Elise. "Shauna." Alice finally spoke, the girl nodded at her and carried on. "She never took part in beating me up or anything." She leaned on me and sighed heavily, I picked her up bridal style and carried her away.

 "Where's your place?" She chuckled as if keeping a secret and smirked slightly at me. "You mean your place?" She asked. I raised an eyebrow as I walked towards a spacious neighborhood, it had five mansions fit for celebrities, each of them fitting at least thirty occupants. Teenagers ran through them, some lounged in the pool and others leisurely chatted with one another. I marveled at all of them, a white marble mansion decorated with neatly trimmed bushes and gardens was the first one in the neighborhood. The second was made out of sturdy, polished, dark oak wood and decorated like a country-side house (If the house had three floors and had electronics hooked up everywhere.) The third was kind of ominous and creepy, it was made out of black stone and its windows were tinted. It still buzzed of life but I wouldn't want to live there. The fourth looked like a twenty-four seven rave party, the bass boomed from the house. Strobe lights and glow sticks flashed from the modern styled manor. I quickly walked away.

The fifth, appealed to me. It was a combination of the other mansions and had a cozy feel to it.

"That's your place, you're in charge of that." I looked at her with surprise and worry. She laughed. "Another reason why I was sent was to fetch a new mentor, a new leader over a group of Gifted students. You are statistically the strongest on record and you have all the characteristics we need for a leader." I stared at the mansion. 

"One day, you're gonna step up to the plate son and you're gonna be a leader, someone's boss, someone important and when the time comes you'll know."  Dad's words echoed in my head, this was it. A start to stepping up to the plate, the question is will I strike out or will I hit a home run?
