They called her The Ugly Duckling
And they all made fun of her
They didn't care what she was feeling
Or how much she cried after

She had a pretty funny round nose
That looked like the knob on a door
She had very smelly imperfect toes
And boy, was she fat to the core

She would cry herself to sleep
Most of the time get mad at God
Did his hatred for her go real deep
He created her like dirty mud

Long tawny straggly hair
Freckles beneath her eyes
Foot like that of a bear
Way too big for her size

They called her balloon brain
Because of her really low IQ
She believed and accepted the name
Cause she'd smile and say 'thank you'

Deep inside, she was tired of it all
She had a desperate wish to be cool
Be physically fit and six feet tall
Look sexy in a swimming pool

Crazy yeah, but she went about it
Researched, did all that she could
Cut the junk out of her diet
She really loved that kind of food

She went on for long like this
And lost lots and lots of weight
Shocking the ones who liked to tease
Saying 'isn't that the fat ugly Kate?'

She got herself a hair stylist
And very often, visited the spa
She even threw a big feast 
To celebrate the new her

She looked just too nice
With her dyed red
Not to mention there were guys
Dying to have her on bed

The girls started to come close
They all wanted to be her friend
They now called her 'Katie Rose'
Made her, in every party, attend

She started to like the fame
Started to love how everyday
They would call her by her name
When she walked down the hallway

Suddenly, it all came crashing down
When they said she had a skin disease
Word quickly spread throughout the town
And once again, they started to tease

They said being pretty would hurt
And she'd said it wasn't true
She was just tired of being short
Ugly like the duckling too

After it all, in the end
She ended up a big fool
And all she ever wanted
Was just to be beautiful
