Thirty-Six
Broc:
"Everyone is in position." I heard through the blue tooth in my ear. It was completely invisible and the only way I could possibly record what is said.
We had 8 guys stationed around the building as well as a few contacts within the hotel.
All I needed to do was keep her talking for as long as possible. I needed information, then I needed to kill her.
Kill her.
I moved down the hallway like a man on a mission. I tried to force the memories that Brenda and I shared deep down into that dark place in my mind. It's hard to believe I spent over a year playing with this woman.
She brought this on herself. She should have never got involved with my enemies.
I knocked on the door three times, as instructed by Brenda. I tried my best to keep the memories of an angry yet clingy Summer off my mind. If I wanted to get back to my angel, I would need to deal with this quickly and efficiently.
I knocked three times again before I heard some rustling and whispering.
I tried to put my ear to the door, hoping this super powerful blue tooth would pick up something.
I finally heard the door lock click and the door slowly opened up, revealing Brenda in a robe. I assumed nothing underneath. I sighed and plastered on a smile. A giant fake one.
"You plan on letting me in baby?" I asked in my sweet voice. I hated being this way with her.
"Of course." She winked at me and opened the door wider, I began to step in when I felt something in my ear. It was an odd sensation. It felt as if the blue tooth was vibrating. I tried not to touch my ear as I stepped fully inside.
The moment I did, I noticed Sheila, and Vivi? Both smirking at me as Sheila held a device up pressing a button that sent a loud noise crashing through my brain.
I tried to rip the blue tooth from my ear, and I nearly got it when it all stopped.
I was on the floor, on my hands and knees. Panting as if I just went a round with Speedy. "WHAT THE FUCK?! You're working with these two?! Are you fuckin kidding me?"
I looked over at Brenda as I pulled out the blue tooth from me ear, sticking it in my pocket for now. If it still worked at all, maybe it would pick up something.
Brenda smirked then moved further into the room, standing next to Sheila and Vivi.
I went to follow her when I heard a chuckle from behind me. "You've always been such an idiot, Brother..." I spun around, I looked into the eyes of the one man I hoped I would never have to see again. "They're all working for me now." I felt the pinch in my neck before I felt my body go weak.
"Fuck you." Was the last thing I whispered out before everything went dark.
Summer:
We all piled into the black van trying our best to get excited about the candy and ice cream awaiting us.
Damian sat in the back with us while Speedy picked one song after another.
"Whoa Speedy, I had no idea you had such great taste in music." I giggled.
He shrugged. "You think I spend all day working out and shooting at things?"
Damian laughed. "You should see this boy dance! He knows what's up." He winked at him and Speedy turned a shade of deep pink.
Brittany and Minnie both saw it too.
Our Party was only getting started when Damian, Speedy and Shaman got the alert. Damian's face went from smiling and happy to deadly serious as soon as he opened the alert.
Speedy quickly turned off the music and pulled out his weapons, loading them up with such speed and precision, even I was fangirling.
My eyes went wide. "Whoa Speedy. You're really good at that. Do you think-"
Damian cut me off. "-LATER!" He took a deep breath trying to plaster on smile. "Listen up ladies, We've got a little problem but, we will get you to that safe house."
He tossed me a handgun, then tossed one to Minnie who seemed much more comfortable than I imagined her to be with a weapon. Brittany took hers and took a deep breath. One thing no one knows about me or Brittany is that we take self defense classes and have since we were in high school together. When we say "We're going to the gym" it's to kick ass, not do yoga.
"You okay Minnie?" I looked over at her, unsure if she'd need more support or not.
She sent a wicked smile my way. "You think Brittany recruited me on my tech skills alone?" She winked at me and loaded her gun. "Plus your brother doesn't let me go a day without caring for his weapons and knowing how each of them work. I could use any of these in here."
"Holy shit." I mumbled out as Brittany chuckled. "Your sexy."
We all chuckled in the back seats while the boys discussed alternate routes to the safe house.
"Listen up lovelies..." Damian turned to each of us, his eyes deadly serious. It was then that my heart rate spiked. "When we get to the house, you will head to the master bedroom. There is a safe room in there. Everyone has been alerted to the situation, either Alec or I will come get you when it's safe."
"Wait- Wait, I don't understand. Did something happen during the meeting?" I asked, suddenly nervous and uncomfortable. I could feel my heartbeat ringing in my ears.
"Why can't the boys come get us?" Brittany spoke up in her angry voice.
Minnie sat up in her seat and glared at Damian. "Tell us, NOW."
Damian ran a hand down his face as the car sped through traffic. "Listen to me little ones, I don't know all the details, but I know that no one uses this alert unless its absolutely necessary, okay?"
Brittany and Minnie both looked at me, concern on their faces.
I took a deep breath and Brittany grabbed my hand, "You okay Summer? Want me to-"
"-NO, I'm fine." Another deep breath in and I felt better. Broc is probably fine. No one can take him out that easily. No one can get close enough to Mike to take him out and Sean can go from sweet and caring to Killing machine in less than a second.
When we pulled up to the house, Shaman quickly escorted us to the safe room. It was already filled with all sorts of weapons and tech. Minnie requested her Ipad and Computer, so did Brittany. I asked for some different shoes. My 3 inch cute boots weren't meant for this kind of work.
Minnie and Brittany spent time typing away at their computers while I took inventory of all the weapons and supplies we had and what they can be used for. I figured if an actual shoot out happened here, I should know what we had available.
I slid down the wall in between Minnie and Brittany. "Hey guys? What do you think is happening?"
Minnie looked up at me and smirked. "Stupid Hilton Hotel. Their tech security is horrible." She chuckled. "This huge company and I hacked this place in like 5 minutes." She shook her head side to side.
I chuckled. "Damn Minnie. I see why my brother can't seem to get enough of you." I playfully hit her shoulder with mine as I settled in closer to see what she was looking at.
She watching footage of the staff, trying to find anyone who looks like Brenda or Sheila. "So what are you looking for?"
She shrugged. "Well, anything that would let us know what happened. Whatever I find I can send to Alec or Damian." I nodded my head and sighed.
I turned to Brittany. "What about you?"
She was frowning at her computer screen and getting flustered. I could tell whatever she was doing wasn't easy.
"Well.." She lifted her head and rubbed her temples. "I got an alert that the blue tooth device Sean had me set up was damaged, but still able to take in information. I'm trying to figure out how to tap into it without giving away too much about where we are, or who we are. It's possible that it was damaged by Broc taking it out and not doing it correctly, or even itching his ear."
I chuckled. "Broc is not the most tech savvy person in the world."
We all hummed in agreement.
"What do you think is going out there? Shaman pointed to the screens up here..." I pointed to two screens placed above the door of the tiny safe room. "I think these activate whenever someone tries to open the safe room."
Minnie glanced up at them and grabbed her Ipad. "Oh yeah! If that's the case then we should be able to access the entire security system here." She beamed and handed me her computer. "Here Summer. You keep an eye out just press here if you see someone we know." I nodded my head and glued my eyes to the computer screen.
Who knows how much time went by when Brittany gasped.
"What?" Minnie and I said at the same time.
Brittany turned up the volume on her computer. Minnie and I scooted in close to her, trying to listen to the muffled sounds coming out of her computer. "You - - such - idiot Brother-" I brought my hand to my face, tears already threatened to escape. I held my breath as we continued to listen. "There - working for - now..." - - "F- you."
Before I could respond Brittany spoke up. "I'm going to get Mavis to clean this up for me, she's good at that. I'll send her everything so we can get a clearer picture of what happened."
Minnie piped up. "Perfect! I'll continue with the security system."
I wiped my eyes clear, while Minnie and Brittany glanced at me with sad eyes. "I'll - Um -"
Minnie pulled me into a big hug, Brittany joined In. "We're going to find our boys. We're going to find them and put an end to all of this."
I felt a renewed energy. I suddenly wasn't as scared anymore. I shook my head and my eyes went back to the hotel security footage.
A thought went through my mind. I quickly paused the video again. "Listen guys. Whatever is going on out there, we're going to get out of here and we're going to hunt down Brenda and Sheila. I don't care what it takes..." I glanced over at the weapons lined up all over the place. "...We got this."
They both nodded in agreement.
Renewed with energy, I continued to watch for Broc, quietly whispering to myself, "Please be okay."
