Not mine anymore.

Naruto Pov

She has to be Keira.

Her face, hair, all the same, reminding me of the gorgeous smile she always seemed to hold on her face. Reminding me again of all that pain she once had to take.

So as I look down, her limp body in my arms, a pleasant look on her face as she was tuned out of this world, all I wanted to do was hold her, keep her away from everyone else, my secret.

But, what if its not her? Maybe, she just looks like her and-

No, I landed nimbly in front of my apartment window, hopping inside it.

The look of recognition, her eyes, it had to be her, I couldn't explain it but, I knew, no matter what happened, that this was the real Keira. I don't know how she got here, but I don't care, if this is her, that means I can finally tell her.

I set her down gently, lying her on my couch.

I kneeled in front of her my hands clenched together tightly, I gotta tell sensei and Sakura, and the duck head too, we have to figure this out, we will, believe it.

Time skip!!

20 minutes later, shattered glass was everywhere on the floor of my home, but I didn't care, the boy I had seen pushing Keira, hurting my friend was now standing amidst the mess waving his hands and yelling.

"STOP! No body freak out!"

He held his hands up and I jumped towards him, knifes clashing at the conflict point merely inches from his throat. Fast, too fast of a reaction for a normal genin, has he been trained?

"Who are you and why are you here?" Sakura stood behind me, green eyes burning holes into him, that same feirocity that made her punch me, no matter how soft and pretty she seemed, it hurt, believe it.

He gritted his teeth and frowned, staring her down, then flicking his eyes down at Keira, I pressed my kunai harder down on him.

"That can wait, she needs me right now, all these memories coming back, the pain she must be feeling" he looked worried down at her form, which shivered almost on cue, tears that burned me to look at, dripping down her face, "Either way, you need to let me help her" he paused, looking back up "please"

I stepped back keeping my eyes trained strongly on him, along with the rest of my team.

He gathered her into his arms and I stepped forward, angry at him.

"Don't touch her," Sasuke beat me to it, his knife held so tight in his hands his knuckles became white, eyes flashing dangerously, mouth stuck in a grimace.

The guy ignored him, "I said Don't..." I put my arm out, stopping Sasuke and looking at him, shaking my head slowly, this guy could help her, we need to let him.

"I don't want this anymore than you do, but we need his help" Sasuke looked at me with the most confused expression then back down at Keira, scowling as the boy pulled her hair behind her ear, murmuring quietly to her.

"For now" He put his knife away and shoved my arm away, taking a step back.

"What did you do?" The guys voice was angry and started small, "Who are you?! What did you to to her!?" His voice reached a peak and he yelled.

Keira whimpered visibly in his tight grasp, making me take a step forward.

"Who are you? What were you doing with our friend?" Sakura stood beside me and yelled just as feircely.

"Your friend!" He said loudly, accusingly "That boy kidnapped her! She doesn't even know you!" Sakura looked at me oddly, and I resisted the urge to throw the guy out my window.

"You hurt her! Tossed her to the ground, what else was he supposed to do!" Sakura shouted

"Get out" Sasuke seethed

"And let you take her! You are complete strangers!"

"We...."

"That doesn't ....."

"Calm down!..."

"I won't..."

"Naruto" amidst all the noise, the sweet voice that always rang in my dreams, was now physically behind me, comind from the weak kneed, stubborn girl I loved.

My kunai, slipping through NY fingers dinged against the floor as I wrapped my arms around Keira tightly, her face pulled into my chest as I resisted the urge to cry.

"I knew it was you Keira, believe it" my body shook with all the sobs of joy I was holding in, oh Keira, its been so long, I thought you were dead and....

My mind buzzed with all that was happening and I held onto her closer, the only evidence that I could hold.

But she pulled back swiftly, sitting down, I could see how exhausted, almost tormented she looked, her pale soft skin stretched tight over her face, limbs shaking and a confused expression matched with relief wrinkling her eyes in an odd mix.

"Do-did I know you?"

And like that,

Our dreams of our former teammate

Sitting here

In the flesh

Diminished like sand in the wind.

Was I,

Was I wrong?
