It's been two years since the strange encounter with the boy Y/N met that boy in the park but quickly the memories faded away as she grew replacing them with her family being her source of smiles and her precious childhood full of joy and love but out of nowhere her quirk began to show more personality and growth with it being this strong

Her quirk training began at the early age of five, her quirk being similar to her mother's made it easier for Y/N to learn it quickly since her vines seemed to be protective of her wanting the very best for her

Except for one thing Y/N was still a child...a very lively child

" Y/N!...you get your butt down here from the roof or I'm drowning all your plushies in the pool!"

Y/N flinched when she heard her mother shouting at her to get down but was terrified thinking she would still face her mother's wrath except for the threat of her dear plushies suffering a horrible fate of losing their softness permanently

So with her head hung down her vines slowly but carefully help her down to face her mother who was glaring at her and her hands on her hip

" Come on we're going to the park"
M/N said as she picked her up daughter taking her back inside the house while the girl had a pout on her face

" But I wanna watch TV !" Y/N cried out kicking her feet only to receive a spank on her bottom from her mother while her father could only watch from the living room seeing his cherished daughter whine softly as she struggled to put on her shoes, her mother watching closely making sure she didn't run off again

"Going outside is nice Y/N , a little sunshine never hurts anyone" D/N as he helped his daughter slip on her favorite Sandals that had stickers all over them because of how much she enjoyed covering her favorite things in stickers

Y/N still pouting as she hugs her father "Why do I need to go outside, I want to watch SpongeBob!" She whines loudly making her mother take off her sandals but her husband quickly stops her before she can do anything, she sighs putting her sandals back on

" Because I plan on meeting a friend and they have a son who's your age maybe even be friends," she said as she tied her daughter's hair in a ponytail

" Wait...you never mentioned that it was a boy?!" D/N said he received a smack on the back of his head  by his wife

" It doesn't matter, now let's go Y/N maybe we can go to that cat cafe you've been wanting to go" she said catching her daughter's attention as Y/N grabbed her mother's hand as they left through the front door of the house with D/N saying how much he loves them both and for Y/N to be careful around boys.

Walking hand in hand with her mother she was looking at her shoes as she walked counting how many stickers she covered her shoes in, her mother vines holding her orange bright vines making sure she never strayed too far from her when the sound of a woman voice calling her mother's name Y/N look up seeing an older woman with lilac hair in a loose bun, her hand holding a boy with the same purple hair like hers but darker and  sprawling upwards covering his face with the box wrapped in pattern cloth

" Hey Mihoko, sorry we kept you waiting!" Hearing her mother say an unfamiliar name as they walked closer to the two

" Oh it's no worries, we just got here shinsou was shy meeting new people..oh! by the way I bought some food for us to enjoy," she said taking the bento box from her son's hands thanking him as they spoke with each other

Y/N stared at the boy whose gazes locked as he quickly looked away pulling on his mom's pants while Y/N mother patted her head softly telling her to go play in the park near them along with Shinsou, she smiled and grabbed his hand running down the slope of the grassy hill causing to fall on her face on the grass, shinsou saw it happened and when to see if she was okay but quickly surprised when Y/N stood back up grass in her hair and face with a smile

" Are you okay Y/N?!" Her mother called out to her

" I taste grass!" Y/N yelled back her mother shrugged believing her daughter was just fine shinsou asked if she was fine getting a nod in response as she continued to run the grass to the sound of wooden chips crushed under her shoes as she threw herself on the swings not sitting properly as she laid her stomach on the swing kicking her feet on the ground to push her

'' so your mom knows my mom right?" Shinsou finally spoke as he sat down on the swing next to her ,Y/N nodded her head looking down at the ground her body moving with the swing " I guess so...but I never met her before have you met my mom" she asked him

Shinsou shook his head " They probably thought we could be friends if they set this playdate " he said not abused by his mother's scheme for him to make friends

" Cat" Y/N said catching the boy's  attention as he peeked up from looking at the ground to a fat fluffy cat with grumpy-looking eyes sitting in front of them, shinsou eyes gleamed a bit while Y/N just stared right back at the cat

Shinsou got up walking slowly behind the cat bending down and reaching his hand to pet it only to get a swish of its tail pushing his hand to make its way to Y/N

Unaware the cat's eyes dilated at the slowly swinging orange vines before Y/N could even figure out what was going the cat made the first jump at the unsuspecting Y/N

" Mom!...Mom!" Shinsou's cries were heard from the upper hill where the two mothers were talking to each other when Mihoko saw and heard her son crying out to her she quickly got up and embraced her son trying to comfort him and understand why he was crying in the first place

" What is it shinsou?!... What happened are you hurt?!" She asked him looking at his face for any injuries, he shook his head before pointing his small finger behind to the park

" No Y/N!...she needs help!" He said making M/N look at him in confusion before getting up and heading down the hill to look for her daughter not long before she reached over to see a cat swiping its claws at the swinging orange vines from a high tree where Y/N was clinging tightly onto a branch her vines trying to shoo the cat away with a heavy sigh she walked over to the cat picking it up by the neck gently shoving the cat aside as it hiss before walking away.

M/N gently reassured her daughter that the cat was gone as she grabbed her daughter from the branch she looked back at Mihoko and Shinsou letting her daughter down on the ground "The cat tried to eat my vines" she said sniffing a bit from the cat 'attack' earlier

" No sweetie...I'm pretty sure it wanted to play with you instead...how about we got to that cat cafe and I'll show you the nice kitties there better than the mean cat " she said drying her daughter's tears

" There's a cat cafe?" Shinsou asked curious about what he heard as Mihoko looked down at her son and smiled "Yes there is...but we should probably head home-"

" Why not come with us instead, it'll be fun and the two can get to know each other more over Sweet's" M/N said holding her daughter's hand

Mihoko looked surprised and tried to reject the proposal but M/N reassured her it was fine and it would be a chance for them to talk more, She sighed and gave in and smiled as the two mothers walked with their children to the cafe

As the two kids were talking and laughing as they played with kittens there especially Y/N since the cats enjoy playing with her vines and shinsou was amazed by her smile and quirk they were quickly becoming friends

" Hey shinsou...do you have a quirk yet?" Y/N asked him while playing with the kitten bean paws as it meowed at her, shinsou looked at her a bit embarrassed

" I haven't received mine yet..." He said feeling shy again but quickly went away as she hugged him tight pressing her chubby cheeks against his

" It's alright, my brother doesn't have one either, but yours's will come soon just be... patient!" She said cheering him almost as if she knew that he was feeling discouraged by his abilities

Shinsou smiled back making Y/N smile and her vines grew bright orange and swung around happily as the two continued to play and eat desserts in the cafe

When it was getting late the sun setting as the mother and daughter said their goodbyes to Mihoko and shinsou before they left the cafe they were packing up the cake that Y/N couldn't finish eating for later use as the two left the cafe when Y/N heard a voice that had a saddened tone seeing a little girl with brown hair as she was pointing at the cake advisement the cat cafe was promoting she asked for her parents if she could eat something sweet like that but the parents simply told her it was too expensive and they could always make at home

The girl is disheartened by her parent's words as she pouts simply no choice but to understand her parent's words but when a tap on her shoulder gains her attention looking behind her to see Y/N holding the box that contains the cake she was asking for

" You can have my cake," Y/N said to the chubby cheek girl her brown wide eyes shone a bit when she offered her cake to her

M/N behind her daughter smiled at her kindness as the chubby cheek girl looked back at her parent almost asking them if it was okay to take it

The parents tried to intervene saying that they couldn't possibly take the cake by Y/N but M/N told them it was best to stop the cake since Y/N was stubborn and didn't really take no for an answer if she was willing to give something away

As the chubby cheek girl takes the cake with a smile thanking Y/N for her kindness then out of nowhere she felt fingers pinching her cheeks getting a response from Y/N

" Mochi...you should smile more, it's pretty," she said before letting go of her cheeks and going to her mother's side she took her hand and walked back home saying goodbye to the lovely family

She looked down at the cake in her hands and a bright smile was plastered on her face not realizing that made Y/N vines grow even brighter.
