Molly
"Molly Grace!" Mom called. I sighed and walked into Riley's room. If she called me by my first AND middle name, this couldn't be good. Riley was sitting at her bay window, close to tears. I groaned. "Did you do this?" Mom asked me angrily. She pointed to Riley's purple cat painting she had hung on her wall a couple days ago. It was torn in half. I paled. "N-no! O-of course not! I would never!" I said. "Yes you did Molly! Mommy yes she did!" Riley said, a small tear rolling down her cheek. Mom turned red in anger. "Molly! Does it make you feel better to hurt your sister like this? Does it?!" She yelled. Tears stung my eyes, threatening to spill over. Riley was a great actress..! "I told you, no! I swear I didn't do that!" I yelled. "Don't you DARE raise your voice to me, young lady! Room, now!" She yelled. I sheepishly walked to my room. Mom followed. Once we were alone, she shut the door. Oh no. I thought. She slapped me across the face. "Ow!" I cried. "Yeah? Serves you right for doing something like that to my sweet girl! Molly, why did you have to turn out so...wrong? You need to be more like Riley, Molly, you hear me? Riley is 100 times the person you will ever be, but do us all a favor and just try to be like her!" Mom yelled and walked out of my room, probably to go tell dad about this so I would have more pain, both physical and emotional. I stared at the door. I didn't cry, I didn't move, I didn't blink, I hardly even breathed. I walked to my bay window, my safe place, and sat down. I peeked out my window and saw Lucas and Maya crawling into Riley's room. I sighed as I evesdropped on their conversation.
"Riles, what happened?" Maya asked worridly.
"Molly happened. Why did she?" Riley cried.
"Wait, Riley, what did she do?" Lucas asked.
There was a moment of silence, in which I guessed Riley showed them the torn painting that I DIDN'T do.
"Molly did that?" Maya sounded almost like she didn't believe Riley.
"Yes, of course she did! Who else could it have been?" Riley said.
"Well, anyone actually-" Lucas started.
"No, it was Molly. I saw her!" Riley said.
I almost laughed. Was she delusional or something?
"You did?" Maya and Lucas both asked in disbelief.
"Yes." Riley said shortly.
"Ok, well that's just wrong." Maya said.
"Yeah, we can get her at school tomorrow. It's not like my parents care, but still. This isn't the right place." Riley told them.
"Yeah, but first I need a snack. I am starving!" Lucas laughed. They all left Riley's room happily. Even Riley was happy.
I sighed unhappily. What did I do to deserve this?
