It was two months after their proposal. Emma Jane was getting impatient. Where was Natalie?! Today was the day they were gonna tell her family. They had been planning this ever since Natalie proposed. Emma Jane thought back to that day....
"What are we gonna tell our families?!" EJ asked. Natalie got back on the bench and slid the ring on EJ's finger.
"I have an idea about that. We can tell them at the barbecue. That way we can do it in one turn." She suggested. Every year their families get together and throw a big barbecue to celebrate the start of Summer. In fact it's where the two girls met. There mom's were best friends and introduced their daughters. "Besides, it would seem like a good time to do it. On the twenty year anniversary of our first meeting."
Emma agreed, but she was still nervous. What if they get shunned and it ends up being their last barbecue?! Natalie seemed to have been reading her mind.
"EJ, it's gonna be fine." She took her hand.

Emma was pacing in her parent's living room when she heard a motorcycle and ran towards the window to see Natalie stepping off her bike and taking off her helmet. Her bleached blonde hair with brown roots falling down her back. Her leather jacket hugging her chest. She walked up to the front door and rang the doorbell. Emma Jane's mother opened the door.
"Oh, Natalie, darling, it's so good to see you."
"You too, Mrs. H. Is Emma Jane here, yet?"
"Oh course, she is in the main room."
Natalie walked into the living room and hugged Emma. She whispered in her ear.
"You sure you wanna do this?
"Yes." They let go of each other and nodded in agreement. It was time to tell the truth.
