"-mma" was the first thing Emma Jane heard when she woke up. Her vision came into focus and a doctor was holding her hand and smiling. "Hello, Emma Jane. I'm Dr. Destiny" the doctor said as she let go of her hand.
"Wh-where am I?" Emma asked. She looked around saw that she was in a hospital room. No one, but her and Dr. Destiny were in the room.
"You are in the hospital. Please, tell me, dear. What is the last thing you remember?"
EJ had to think about that. She remembers getting ready for her and Nat's party and getting drunk.....
"Oh my god, are Kate and Nat ok?!" A sudden feeling of dread filled her heart. She remembered the accident. She doesn't know what happened, but she remembers her sister and Natalie screaming.
"They are fine. Your sister broke her arm and Natalie was unconscious for two days and you have been in a coma for a month and a half." Said Dr. Destiny. "I'll go call your family." The doctor left the room leaving Emma Jane by herself.
She looked at the side table next to her that was covered in cards. She started to read them. Some were from her coworkers, some from her friends, and some from her family. But the most colorful of them all was from Nat.
She opened the card up and read it:
Dear EJ Hurt,
You better wake up soon. I can't stand living without you. I can't help feeling that this is all my fault. I should've stopped you from drinking so much. I am sorry. I hope you wake up soon and see this. And I want you to know that I love you to the end of the rainbow.
Love, Nat.
Tears formed in Emma's eyes. She felt bad that Nat felt that it was all her fault. Dr. Destiny came in with a smile on her face.
"Your family is on their way and incredibly excited to see you."
Emma nodded. She was happy to see them to, but she mainly wanted to see Natalie. Although, this whole thing made EJ wonder if her parents would reconsider their thoughts about her wedding now that she almost died.
