Chapter 2

Part 2 before i go to school

Edited

"Are you excited?" Y/n asked while winning a game of solitaire on the small table. The boat slightly rocked causing the cards to slide around.

"Why would I be?" He was sitting on the other chair across the room, sharpening his blade.

"You are about to meet your father. I assumed you would be a bit more joyful." She lowered her head in embarrassment, playing with the glowing f/c marble bracelet on her left wrist. It stood out from her outfit due to its beauty. She hated it because of what it symbolized.

"Well, you assumed wrong. I don't need him or anyone else. I can take care of myself."

She looked up, "What about me?"

"What about you?"

"Do you need me?" She looked into his electric green eyes.

"Listen. They're back. Get ready." He avoided the subject. Y/n looked down back at her cards and put them away.

"Would you like a drink?" Talia offered the Batman. She took a sip of her cocktail from the boat's bar. The atmosphere was too calming for Batman's pleasure.

"Last time, that didn't go so well." Bruce reminded her.

"Oh, you're right. If I remember correctly, I put a little something in your beverage, she said as she walked up to him, pressing her chest against his. Her attempt to tease him was not working, not this time.

"Same way I remember it."

"It made you romantic." She flirted.

"It made me do what you wanted." He added.

"Was it all bad, beloved?" Talia asked him. Batman thought of what transpired the night from long ago. He admitted to it not being all terrible."Then you remember our shared moonlight?" She rested her head on his chest.

"Some of it."

"The best parts?" She purred.

"Talia, what do you want?" He pushed her away from him gently.

"My father, he's dead." She walked away, wrapping her arms around her self.

"Ra's?"

"How many fathers do I have?" She snapped.

"Sorry. He always seemed-"

"Like you? Indestructible?" her eyebrow lifted in question.

"Huh. You haven't seen my x-rays."

"Maybe you can show them to me sometime."

"You don't seem all that broken up about Ra's' death." Batman noticed.

"There is no time for mourning. Assassins planned to take over Ra's' organization," she sprung into the information. "They are led by a man who Father believed could be his successor. Until my father became aware of you. Now this man wants to kill us."

Batman was puzzled by her words. "'Us'?"

"Not you. Me...and your son."

"Son?"

Talia pulled a curtain to reveal Damian and Y/n, both in their League uniform.

"You expect me to believe this?" Bruce asked.

"I assure you, he's yours."

Damian approached his father. "Don't look so stunned, Father. I thought you'd be taller."

"Who is this?" Batman nodded towards Y/n.

"Y/n L/n. Damian's friend. She will stay with him until further notice." Talia introduced her. She placed a hand on her back. The girl looked down.

The boat sped away leaving the two children and the big Batman alone on the docks. The trio overlooked the bay and anything surrounding the water.

"You didn't know about me?" Damian asked

"No," the answer was blunt.

"So Mother has made me your responsibility?"

"Something like that."

"This isn't necessary. I do fine by myself." He told his father as he crossed his arms in annoyance.

"So do I. But things have changed. She thinks you'll be better off with me, for now."

"What do you think?" Y/n spoke for the first time in front of the hero.

"Better than with the League of Assassins."

"They taught us how to fight." The boy remarked.

"And I take it not much else."

"I'll drive," Damian said bluntly.

"No," Batman told him.

"Damian!" Y/n scolded him with newly found courage even when she knew what the consequences were for speaking up.

"I know how."

"No," Batman repeated.

In the batmobile Damian and Y/n had to sit in the same seat with Bruce in the driver's seat. He pressed some buttons and called someone.

"Alfred?" Batman asked.

"Yes, sir." The voice - Alfred - answered.

"We're going to have company."

"A sleepover? Oh. goody."

The drive was silent and pleasant. Raindrops hit the 360° window. The tall bright skyscrapers stood out and blended at the same time with the dark night sky.

They went down a private road and drove into a cave of some sort.

An old man with good posture waited in a tuxedo.

"Welcome back, sir. I presume this is the young man and lady of whom you spoke?" Alfred greeted in a British accent.

"Hello, Pennyworth. I've heard of you." Damian greeted.

"It's nice to meet you." Y/n smiled.

"At your service, Master Damian. Miss Y/n."

"Where are the rest of the servants?" Damian looked around.

"Damian!" Y/n scolded him again.

"I am the sum total," Alfred informed.

"You have only one servant?" Damian asked Bruce.

"Damian!" Y/n hit his arm. He rolled his eyes.

"He's not a servant. He's a friend." Bruce said.

Damian hummed and walked over to the Bat Computer.

"So this is the fabled Batcave. Grandfather told me all about it." Damian looked around.

"It's wonderful." Y/n marveled.

"Smaller than I imagined. Very efficient, though." Damian commented. Both kids wandered around admiring the cave.

Y/n and Damian admired the costumes in their glass cases. One caught their eye.

"Looks rather effeminate don't you think?" Damian asked Alfred. He snickered at the thought of someone wearing it.

"Master Dick was a boy when he wore that," Alfred told them.

"Did he ever get cold wearing it?" Y/n asked.

"I assume he got used to it."

"Where is he now?" Y/n was curious about what happened to this "Master Dick".

"Moved on. And so shall we. Would you like to see where you will be sleeping?"

The friend/butler led them to a guest room. "I hope this isn't too cramped for you. That door heads to your bath. The other, to a game room. And you also have this for your amusement." He turned on the television. Some cartoon was on. It didn't catch the kids' attention. "Naturally, you have the run of the mansion."

"Of course. I know that." Damian puffed his chest.

"You have the same designed room Miss Y/n."

"Thank you. May I get a glass of water please?" She asked politely.

"Of course."

"Prepare some tea, Pennyworth. Brown sugar instead of white, fresh-cut lemon. A china cup." The eleven year old went to sit in a big chair and crossed his legs.

"Don't be rude Damian." Y/n narrowed her eyebrows.

"Perhaps master would like some warm mixed nuts...and a moist hand towel." Alfred sarcastically responded.

"Watch yourself, Pennyworth. I'm not so young that I don't understand sarcasm."

"While I am much too old to care," Alfred told him and left to get the drinks.

Y/n turned the television off and sat on the bed. It was very soft and comfortable. It was nothing like the rooms at the league.

"Damian?" Y/n quietly asked.

"What do you want?" He looked at her.

She folded her hands in her lap. "Are...uh. Do you know what is going to happen to us?"

"Mother will eventually return."

"No. I mean. Us." She looked at him hoping to meet his eyes. "Now that Ra's is gone."

He frowned slightly. "Will you go check on Pennyworth? I am thirsty."

Y/n looked to the floor. "Sure." She got up and left the room. She found herself in her room, with the door locked. She carefully slide into bed and cried.

The next morning brought to you by Nightwing's tight ass

"I've gotta get down to the office. How're Damian and Y/n?" Bruce asked Alfred while eating a piece of toast.

"See for yourself." He gestured towards the window.

Damian was using a sword to chop the garden bushes up. Y/n was jumping on them practicing with targets she put up. She saw Damian about to slice the neck off of the giraffe bush but she shot the weapon out of his hand. He picked it up and they began to spare.

"They've been at it since 5:00 this morning. I hope you don't mind, sir, the sword is your grandfather's. The one on the wall plaque?"

Bruce looked out the window as Y/n ran up and did a back flip off it.

"I think we might be able to skip the gardener this month." Alfred joked.

"Well, they were trained by the League of Assassins," Bruce added.

"I myself, am rooting for Y/n," Alfred announced.

"They have talent." Bruce smiled slightly.

Annnnnnd that's gonna wrap that nice burrito up. Byeeee
