We were our masks in the daylight.
We put on our faces in the dark.
When the dimness of the sky lays upon us
We will go out to face the night.
We make truths and burn out lies.
We say we could but we really never had a chance.
This world was broken when we got here,
But now we must face the consequences of other's actions and pay the price.
Shame on our ancestors for bringing us here.
They enjoyed their sins and now we have to die.
Forgive me cause I'm blaming the dead, where goes the blame when there's nothing to burn?
What about the living who are going to fade?
We look to the future we wanted to build,
But we see chaos around the corner.
Is there a safe place for the ones that carry no guilt?
No, no. There is not. Is our burden now.
This is our heritage.
We didn't polluted the air.
We didn't burnt down the woods.
We didn't make world wars.
We didn't kill the whales.
We didn't built cities on ashes and bones.
We never, no never, hurt bad this world.
But why are we the ones who pay the price because for them there was no tomorrow, but for us there's always a past?
We are the ones who have to save the world.
We are the ones who are going to fight this war.
We are the ones to lose our lungs.
We are the ones who have to wear the mask.
We didn't make this virus
But we have to breathe it in.
We wash our hands and we cannot kiss.
Then, why do they blame us for using our phones, for being so cold, for locking ourselves in our damn inner worlds?
We live our fantasies...
How reckless we are.
What they never told us
Is that we were meant to pay the price
Perhaps we will make it.
Perhaps we will perish.
Perhaps we will save us.
Perhaps we will die.
