Brianna's POV

I woke up the following morning with a splitting headache. I sat up in bed and realised i wasn't in my room. I was in Gabe's. I stood up from the bed, still fully clothed and started towards the door but it opened just then, and Gabe walked in. He had brought me a cup of coffee and some aspirin.

"Good morning, sunshine." he said with a cocky smile. "How are you feeling."

"Been better, my head aches."

"Here, take this." he handed me the coffee and bottle of aspirin.

I took it and thanked him.
"What happened last night? Why didn't you take me home?"

"Cos i knew your mum would flip if she saw you like that last night."

Then it dawned on me that i didn't call my mum to tell her about my whereabout.
"Shit, i didn't tell my mum i would be sleeping out. I gotta get home immediately."

"come on, I'll drop you."

Surprisingly, my mum wasn't upset. She just pleaded with me to always call when i won't be coming home.

The rest of the weekend was uneventful. I did my homework and studied for the most part.

Gabe's POV
After dropping Bri at home, i went back home but i bumped into Brody just before i could go in.

"Hey, Gabe. How's Brianna doing." he asked.
"She's alright, but i doubt if you really care." i knew i shouldn't be snapping at him but i couldn't help it.

"I'm sorry, do you have a problem with me?" I really don't mean any harm, i just want to be friends."

"Fine, but if you do anything to hurt Bri, you're going to wish you never talked to her. See you at school." i said, and went in.

I've been in love with Bri for almost two years now. But i have never told her about my feelings for her for fear of not losing my best friend. I honestly didn't know how she'd react. Bri has been through a lot, growing up.

Her dad had been abusive to her mum and had harassed her and she lived in fear of him until when she was fourteen. She confided in her sister, Mirabel, who told their mother. Their father was later arrested. It affected her psychologically for a while and its one of the reasons she never dated and one of the reasons i never told her i had fallen for her.

I couldn't stop thinking about her the whole weekend and i kept anticipating Monday when i would pick her up for school.
